MEENA SAT on the couch, absentmindedly scrolling on her phone. She gently ran her fingers through her hair, using her hand to rest her head against it. She glanced up, seeing Nabi and Mika lying on the end of the couch with her.

She let out a small sigh as she placed her phone on her lap and closed her eyes. She was sick and tired of pretend that there wasn't... something there. Something that felt like a tiny fairy tale.

If she dipped her toes in the water she would be living her (potential) happily ever after, but again, she was scared, at this point, terrified.

She felt like she was at the part of the story where the evil stepmother cast a magical spell over her and everything turns to shit until the prince shows up and God knows He placed him right there in front of her. She just didn't know how to... do it.

Meena was wonderful, but she, once again, was in her 30s and having this big of a crush on someone she knew felt nauseating. She could upright tell Blau how she feels but something about it was so... scary.

People her age were getting married, settling down, having families of their own, and yet, here she was figuring out what game to play on stream in a couple of hours.

She left like a broken record, but she didn't know how to turn the tune off.

"Meena?"

Her eyes snapped open and by the archway stood MJ.

Meena stretched cause Mika to move further down the couch with Nabi. She softly smiled and looked over at MJ.

"Hey, sorry," MJ muttered. "I didn't know if-"

"It's fine." Meena muttered as turned, placing her feet on the ground. "Just thinkin'."

MJ didn't want to press on, but if Rae, Tina, Leslie, and Miyoung could see how she felt about Ellum and help her express her feelings aloud to someone, there was a possibility that she could also help a girl out, even if she had to do it by herself.

"Blau?"

Meena turned. "Hmm?"

"I get it, you know."

Meena raised an eyebrow, her curiosity piqued. "Get what?"

MJ stepped further into the room, leaning against the armrest of the couch with her arms crossed. "How hard it is. When you like someone, but it feels... impossible."

Meena softly smiled. "Ellum?"

MJ let out a small laugh, rubbing the back of her neck as her cheeks tinted slightly pink. "Did Rae tell you?"

"I have eyes, MJ." Meena chuckled. "He really likes you. Everyone can tell."

MJ gave a short laugh, shaking her head. "You think so? Because half the time, I'm convinced he's just being nice, and the other half, I'm overthinking every little thing he says."

Meena tilted her head, giving MJ a knowing smile. "MJ, come on. Ellum's not subtle. The guy lights up every time you walk into the room. And don't even get me started on how he magically appears whenever you need help with anything."

MJ smiled, sitting up straighter. "So, what's your excuse? Because Blau does the same thing. Why haven't you said anything?"

Meena groaned, burying her face in her hands. "This is so embarrassing."

MJ laughed softly, reaching over to nudge her arm. "It's not embarrassing. It's human. You like him, he likes you, and you're both too scared to do anything about it. Trust me, I know exactly how that feels."

Meena sighed, removing her hands from her face before turning to look over at MJ. With a heavy sigh, she softly smiled. "Fine... I'll talk to Blau tomorrow after my stream. As long as you talk to Ellum. It doesn't have to be tomorrow, but soon."

MJ's eyes widened slightly, a mix of surprise and hesitation flickering across her face. "You're really gonna hold me to that, huh?"

Meena smirked, tilting her head. "Absolutely. If I have to throw myself into the deep end, you're coming with me. Deal?"

MJ groaned, slumping against the couch dramatically. "You're the worst. Fine. Deal. But if this backfires and I make a fool of myself, you owe me ice cream for a month."

"Deal," Meena said, laughing softly. "But don't worry. You won't need it. Ellum will probably propose on the spot."

MJ snorted, hugging a pillow to her chest. "If only. He'll probably just awkwardly laugh and offer to make me tea or something."

"Sounds like him," Meena teased. "But trust me, that awkwardness? It's because he's into you."

MJ held out her pinky, and Meena linked hers with it, sealing their pact. "Deal."
