Direction

~Noah~

I still couldn't grasp it as the little girl skipped over to me, giggling. She had brown hair like the rest of our family, only hers were in cute little pigtails.

Her hazel eyes resembled our father and she had the brightest smile in the whole wide world.

"Hello! I'm Anne," she said in a high pitched voice and I tried my best not to let her see me cry the first time we meet after so long.

She probably thought it was the first meeting.

"Hello, Anne!" I said, taking the delicate little hand she offered. "I'm Noah."

She smiled and then pointed to the sheepish looking man standing behind her.

"Ian said you're my big brother," she said.

I looked up at him and he looked straight back at me.
I couldn't believe he did this for me. I never thought I meant so much to him.

My eyes began their waterfall.

"Big brothers don't cry Noah," said my baby sister and wiped the tears off my face. She was so adorable!

I took her in my arms and onto my lap. Then I hugged her trying my best not to crush her little body, as I felt my life taking a whole new turn.

Finally into the right direction.

~Ian~

I stood watching the beautiful scene as tears of happiness flooded out of my Noah's eyes.

He had looked up at me with so much love that I wanted to just pull him into my arms. But this day was not about me.

I smiled as I watched him reconnect with his family after six long years.

The moment I had recalled that Noah liked children, I knew instantly what I had to do. This was the single best thing anybody could do for him and I was glad that I was the one who did.

I remembered Noah telling me where his parents lived and which school Trevor, his best friend, had seen Anne go.

Flashback.

After I reached back home excitedly, I quickly parked the Harley and got into the car and drove to the place which was two hours away.

I wasn't sure that his parents would like to meet him again, given they disowned him long ago. But I knew I had to take the chances.

When I pulled up at the school, it was 2 o'clock in the afternoon and the school could be over anytime.
So I waited in the parking lot for another half an hour, contemplating what to say to his mother (who was usually the one who picked Anne up, as Noah had said).

When the loud bell rang announcing the end of the school day, I walked to the main gates and watched helplessly as a whole crowd of little bodies spilled out of the buildings.

They all looked so much alike that it was very difficult to distinguish Anne amongst them. Also I had no idea what she looked like now since what Noah had ever showed me once was her baby picture when she was 11 months old or something.

But I had seen his parents' photo and I was confident that I could fairly recognize either one of them if they were in front of me.

So I shifted my attention from the kids to the adults who were starting to pour into the area.

I eyed each of them keenly, but with no avail as none of them looked like they were related to Noah in any way.

I stood there till there were no children left to be taken home and then trotted back to the parking lot disappointed.

I was pretty upset thinking that this plan, the only one I thought that could work, was failing so miserably. But then I saw a face so similar to Noah's that I almost jumped two feet above the ground.

"Anne!" I called out stopping the little girl and her mother from sitting into the car.
The mother looked at me doubtfully.

I walked to them and introduced myself as Noah's friend.

As soon as I mentioned Noah, I saw his mother's facial expression change into a pained one.

I explained to her about how much he misses them all and how lonely he gets at times. It was a long lecture I gave her, trying best not so sound rude since I knew how difficult of times she and his father had caused him.
I saw Mrs. Hart's eyes getting wet as Anne looked between us with utmost curiosity.

She tugged at her mother's dress, making her bend down to ask what it was.

'Mom why are you crying?' She asked with a cute frown.

"These are tears of happiness baby," her mother replied making me knit my brows in confusion as to how could she be happy hearing that her son was going through a rough time because of herself? She couldn't hate him that much,could she?

"Happy? What happened?" Asked Anne, equally confused.

"We're going to meet your big brother!" She said in a cheery voice despite her tears, making me and Anne rejoice.

So I gave her Noah's address and she promised she would visit tomorrow. I also gave her my number in case she wanted any help.

The next day when I was uselessly trying to read a book to divert my mind, Mrs. Hart called and asked if I could come meet her before she met Noah.

Needless to say, I rushed to her and met her at a coffee shop near Noah's place. She told me she wanted to meet Noah alone and asked if I could look after Anne meanwhile.

I totally agreed and during the time Anne and I were alone, I explained to her what kind of a beauty her elder brother was. That excited her more into meeting him.

In midst of the conversation, she asked me if I was Noah's boyfriend. Quite a question to be coming out from a seven year old's mouth.
I chuckled and shook my head and she pouted.

After half an hour or so, I decided it was time Anne and I joined the scene too since we both couldn't keep it in us any longer.

So I drove us to Noah's place. The door was ajar so we quietly crept in to surprise him.

He was just asking his mom about his dad and his sister when I showed up carrying the little girl in my arms.

The expression on his face was priceless.

~~~
"Noah," his mom began, addressing her son but keeping her eyes on me with a smile on her face, "Is this your boyfriend?"
Noah and I blushed prominently as our eyes met, silently asking the same question to each other.
"Not yet," he replied, looking boldly into my eyes with a twinkle in his own and I raised my brow in surprise.
"I think you guys need a private moment." His mom said and chuckled while Noah began to blush again.
"Yeah, I'll be back." he said, kissing his sister's head and making her sit on the couch beside him.
My heart beat accelerated to a thousand per minute, as he stood up and took my hand.
I walked behind him obediently as he led me up to his room, my palm tingling on having his touch after a week.
We entered his room and stopped our feet. He turned around to face me with fresh tears in his eyes. That silly boy! Why was he still crying? I missed that pretty smile of his that made everything better.
I rolled my eyes and cupped his face. Thankfully, he didn't slap my hands away this time, only his tear drops began running faster down his pink cheeks.
"Shh," I hushed him and wiped his tears with my thumb while he continued to look into my eyes.
It was the perfect time.
Instead of telling him how much I loved him, I could show it to him.
So with our eyes still locked together, I bent slowly forward, watching his eyes widening a little as our noses brushed together and finally connecting our lips as our eyes closed on their own accord.
As soon as I got to taste his delicious soft lips, I regretted not doing it sooner. I could have saved us from the whole drama and all the emotional mess I put us both through. If only...
But fuck it, I was going to savour them a hundred times a day, everyday now.
I wasn't going to screw this up.
His hands crawled their way up my chest and he clutched my shirt to pull me closer. We kissed with all the feelings for each other that we had bottled up inside.
Our slow sweet kiss soon turned into a wild one as I pushed my tongue inside his mouth and brushed it against his, causing him to clutch my shirt tighter.
I couldn't believe that I finally had him to myself. This precious boy was mine. And I was totally, irrefutably, his.
A tear dropped from my own eye as I felt like my life had found meaning again. It seemed to have finally turned to the right direction while we gave our all into our first kiss.
