Into the future, doom shall befall
It is up to the chosen 5 to help the wizard of light to stop it
The stars of 88 must combine
Revelation of the stars and knight shall collide
A new relationship must not occur for it will usher forth of doom for all
When myth becomes truth, a naked star shall sacrifice the one its love the most
Once friends, now enemies, the wizard of light and darkness shall meet
"Lucy"
"Erza" Lucy spoke back.
The redhead shrunk back a little, realizing things are a little unpredictable with the blonde.
"We'll talk later. Right now the others are wounded." Lucy merely stood there, but the air shifted, and bright golden aura appeared, surrounding the blonde, then spreading across the battlefield. The redhead watched as the aura surrounded her wounded friends, instantly healing their wounds.
"You gotten stronger it seems." The knight mage commented with a satisfied smile, knowing now that everyone will be alright.
"I haven't been training for 7 years for nothing." Lucy said, her tone never changing.
At that tone, Erza fell silent. Allowing everything to come back to her, from the time that she learned that the blonde had supposedly 'passed' away. And all of the other situations regarding Lucy. Silence between them continued on for a few minutes before Erza was growing more frustrated.
"You faked your own death." She spoke with a stern voice as she kept her glaze forward.
Lucy kept silence, knowing that it was not a question.
"You tried to keep us away." Erza continued.
"..."
"You lied." Her voice beginning to falter and betray her.
"..."
Erza then turned to the blonde with tears in her eyes. "Why?!"
Lucy turned to her and knew. She had hurt Erza. Big chance the others feels the same way.
Before the blonde could say anything, Erza continued, "Why push us away when we could've helped you? Why fake your death when you were still alive? Why lie to us, lie to your friends?"
Lucy stared at her redheaded friend before looking down, retreating to the comfort behind her cloak. "Didn't want to lose you again."
Erza clenched her fists before forcibly grabbing Lucy's prized cloak, forcing the blonde to look at her. "What about my feelings?! Yeah I get it, me and the others disappeared for seven years. But you weren't alone. Weren't you?! You had the others back at the guild that were also left behind."
"It's much more than that..." Lucy said in a soft tone. "If you hadn't kissed me before you left, then I wouldn't be feeling this way!"
Erza unconsciously let go of the blonde in shock, blushing a little.
Realizing what she said, Lucy turned around and teleported away in shyness.
"W-Wait..." Erza called out, but the Celestial mage was already gone.
"Oh man, been a long long long time since I saw Lucy that flustered." Sting laughed as she walked toward Erza, Rouge walking alongside him.
"Flustered?" Erza asked, wanting to know more.
"When we first met her, I used to tease her for liking you. Then after a while she started beating me up every time I bring it up. That's how I got this scar here." He pointed to the scar on his forehead.
Rouge snickered at the numerous memories of Lucy being flustered and beating Sting up because of it. "It was fun watching Sting being beaten up by a girl."
"Oi! What about Natsu? Lucy told us that Erza like to beat the shit out of him and the stripper boy too." Sting defended himself.
"Well then, you and Natsu and the stripper boy have something in common: being beaten up by girls."
"What?! Take that back."
Erza stood in silence while they got off track and started rambling amongst themselves. Her eyes started scanning her surroundings, hoping to find the blonde. But to no avail, she was no where to be found.
She let the blonde's words to sink in. "If you hadn't kissed me before you left, then I wouldn't be feeling this way!" Does Lucy blame her for the way she felt? Does Lucy blame her for kissing her? Was the kiss unwanted? So many questions formed in her mind, worry and anxiety forming form within to the unanswered questions.
Suddenly this victory didn't seem so victorious. Erza was worried if she was going to lose Lucy again.
"Erza."
The redhead looked up to see Minerva approaching her, her wounds already healed. "Minerva."
"Where's Lucy?" She last saw Lucy with the redhead. She had only turned away for one second, then the blonde was gone.
"I'm not sure. She just left." Erza felt defeated as she responded.
"She was flustered." Sting wrapped his arm around Minerva. "She should be back at the castle."
It didn't take Minerva long to realize what he meant. She looked at the other woman, "She usually sits on the roof on the tallest tower. I'm sure Sting's cat can fly you over there."
Erza looked at Minerva with hope. Maybe she can talk with Lucy. She didn't like the distance between her.
"Just do me a favor." Minerva started, grabbing Erza full attention. "Convince Lucy to let Fairy Tail help."
Erza didn't need to be told that. It was becoming more and more evident on the reasons why Lucy refused a Fairy's help. She nodded and looked at Sting's cat. "Let's go."
...
She had seven years. Seven long years to prepare herself. To steel herself for the feelings she harbored. She never thought the real thing would be difficult to maintain. In her free time, Lucy would look up definitions of love, and everything else associated with it.
I mean, EVERYHING.
The more she had thought of it, the more she realized it. Those obvious signs that Erza emitted, the small flame inside of her filled with the love that overstepped the boundaries of simple friendship.
Lucy was falling in love for the redhead, even though she was 'dead' at the time... She had grown to hate herself for not seeing it. She could only hate herself.
When she learned that Erza and the others had survived and is still alive, Lucy was so relieved. She only thought she was doing what she thought was right. Justified to keep someone that she loved, safe from harm. She didn't want to put Erza and the others in danger anymore.
It was hard to stay away from them, from Erza. So, with lack of planning and poor decision on her part, she faked her death. it was wrong, but Lucy wanted to do it. Now she can't look Erza in the eyes for that. Too afraid for what her eyes will show. Full of sadness? Anger? Something else? Or all of them mixed together?
"Princess, the battle ended, I think you can relax a little." A familiar voice spoke up.
Lucy didn't need to turn her head to see who it was. "It is a long way off to really rest."
Leo looked down on his master and sat down next to her. "I don't think Erza is mad at you."
"She's clearly is..."
"She'll never stay mad at you."
Lucy looked at her spirit and sighed, knowing how forgiving Erza can be.
"If you're too shy to talk, then let your action speak for you."
"I bet you're saying that so you can see two girls kiss." Lucy looked at Leo with a small smirk.
Leo acted as if he just got caught. "Was that so obvious?"
Lucy stared at Leo for a moment before smiling and staring at the view before her. "Thanks. For the pep talk. For calming me down."
The spirit smiled and looked at the scene with Lucy in silence.
"Just ask yourself this, what will the two of you do next?" Leo spoke after a few minutes of silence and stood back up, slowly disappearing, "Your knight in shinning armor approaches. I shall leave the two of you alone. Good luck Princess." He then disappeared after the last sentence.
"Thanks." Lucy mumbled as her spirit disappeared.
All she could hear was the whistling of the air passing by. She waited as she sensed two figures approaching the castle. She knew one was Erza, and the other was Sting's exceed.
It didn't take them long to land onto the rood that Lucy was on. After a few minute, Sting's exceed was flying away from where it came from. But Erza stayed.
Erza was at least two meters away from the blonde, and stood in silence. Staring at the blonde, she wondered what kind of burdens she had been carrying on her own. "I'm sorry kissing you that day. But I'm not sorry for the feelings I have for you."
"You have nothing to apologize for." Lucy kept her glaze towards the setting sun. The growing shadows that seemingly to dance in rejoice to the falling sun. "You did nothing wrong..."
Erza took a couple steps forward, gambling that the blonde wouldn't be too skittish for some closeness between them. "Why did you run away?"
"I'm sure the others had already told you."
"Flustered? Your feelings for me?" A totally guessed answers from Erza, whom she had totally not gotten from someone named Minerva.
"I was afraid. I said that I didn't want to lose you again. That was not a total lie. It was because I loved you. I didn't want to put you in harms way. I didn't want to lose you again like the way I had lost you seven years ago."
Erza paused, not expecting this kind of confession. But she was smiling. Happy that the person she loved was returning with equal love. "I won't let that happen."
"Another reason was the prophecy. I didn't want to take anymore chances with relationships until this is all over." Lucy clenched her fists. "I guess fate had sensed some sort of relationship between us when you kissed me. So they punished me with your disappearance, making me believe you all were dead."
"You don't believe that... don't you?" Erza frowned a little. "A relationship... it doesn't necessarily have to be... this specific relationship."
"I don't want to take any chances... Better to be safe than sorry." The blonde argued.
Erza understood, but was a little disappointed. "We can talk more about this when we clobber Zeref's ass." Erza offered, at least all of the troubles will be gone. And she can have all of the time in the world with the blonde
Lucy smiled at the possible sight of Zeref on the ground, defeated. "Sounds good."
Erza took a moment before speaking again. "Me and the rest of Fairy Tail will fight alongside you. And we will not take no for an answer."
Lucy slowly stood up and looked at the redhead. She knew that Minerva or the others would try and have Erza ask her about this. It's too late now, Fairy Tail seems to get mixed in with Lucy's mission no matter what. Guess she needed to improvise. "Just promise me that none of ya'll will not die."
Erza nodded with a smile.
Lucy stared at her before walking to her and quickly kissed her on the lips and quickly turned away, obviously blushing. She didn't mean to do that, but the light of the setting sun shinning upon the redhead was so tempting and beautiful. She couldn't hold herself back.
No regrets right?...
Erza blushed too, touching her lips. "What was that for?" Her heart beating fast, her lips craving more kisses from her blonde crush.
"A promise." Lucy spoke up, still blushing. "A promise that we all will survive, and that we will look more into the feelings we have for each other when this is all over."
Erza smiled and gently grabbed Lucy's hand from behind. "Promise."
"Promise." Lucy repeated back with a shy tone.
