Ch. 17: Morning Routine

The next day, Luz and Amity woke up a bit sore. Like they had both exercised before bed and didn't take a shower to relax their muscles enough to sleep.

'What the hell?' Luz thought.

'Why do I feel like I've been hit by a dozen grudgby balls?' Amity thought, feeling her sore stomach.

The two got out of bed, both of them trying to hide their soreness as they smiled at each other before sharing a good morning kiss.

"Good morning, Amity." Luz said.

"Good morning, Luz. Did you sleep well?" Amity asked.

"It was fine. Just a little sore from sleeping wrong." Luz said, stretching and popping some joints.

"Same." Amity said, rolling her arm a bit.

'A nice hit bath can fix that.' Rebellion said to Amity.

'Trust me, I know.' Amity thought.

'Take a shower, it helps.' Yamato said to Luz.

'Yeah, thanks.' Luz thought.

Both of them left the room and went downstairs for breakfast, which Camila was already making for them.

"Good morning, lovebirds." Willow comments.

"Hi, Willow." Luz said.

"Hello." Willow replied as Gus and Hunter waved to Luz and Amity.

"Hey/Good morning." They said.

"You guys know what's for breakfast?" Amity asked.

"Camila said it was a surprise." Hunter said.

"And I love surprises. I bet it's something really delicious." Gus said, rubbing his hands together.

"Knowing my mom, it is." Luz said as she and Amity sat at the table.

'You always say that about your mother's cooking?' Yamato asked.

'Yes, because it's delicious.' Luz thought.

"Breakfast is served." Camila said as she placed breakfast on the table, a breakfast casserole with a side of hot sausage and salami.

Amity and Luz looked at it hungrily, as if they had just had an entire adventure in their sleep.

"Make mine a double." Luz said as Camila began cutting up the casserole.

"Make mine double even that." Amity said.

"Hehehehe, girls. I get my cooking is good but you're embarrassing me." Camila said.

"We're just being honest." Luz said.

"Well, try not to choke if you speed eat." Hunter said, pointing a fork at the couple.

"Didn't you not eat as much when you were the golden guard?" Willow asked.

"No comment." Hunter quickly said.

'Expected. All that training is showing off.' Yamato said, somehow knowing Hunter's phatcial prowess.

'Yeah, yeah.' Luz said, tuning Yamato out.

Everyone began eating the breakfast casserole, humming in delight of the warm and delicious meal. Though Luz and Amity almost looked like they were in an eating contest.

'Does being in love make you hungrier?' Gus thought.

Little did he know, they were starving because they were fighting to near death, but unless either sword revealed it to Luz or Amity, then they would be none the wiser.

And that's how they preferred it.

"So, aside from possibly school with Luz, what does anyone else have planned for today?" Camila asked the group.

Amity froze mid bite, she had no idea of what to say.

'Should I tell Luz we're going to plan to get the titan's blood without her?' Amity thought.

'It's your call, Kid.' Rebellion said.

"...I think I'll look over the map we found again. Make sure the spot in it is completely correct before we head there." Amity said, reminding every one of the scroll clue they found a while ago.

"That's a good idea." Willow said.

"We can't be too careful since this could be our only shot to get home." Hunter said.

"I wish I could help you guys with that. School just seems so trivial compared to this." Luz said with a groan.

'Agreed.' Yamato said, though from Vergil's memories, he never went to school.

"Speaking of school, hurry up, Luz, the bus will be here soon." Camila said.

"Already? Man, I really need a watch." Luz said, looking at the kitchen's wall clock.

Luz quickly finished breakfast and went to get ready.

'Can we schedule some training after that drivel you call school?' Yamato asked.

'Maybe. So long as I don't have too much homework or if I don't have a club Vee signed up for when she was me.' Luz thought with a small sigh. 'That's the ONE thing I hate her for.'

'Siblings, you can't live with them, can't go a day without "slapping" them when you have the chance.' Yamato said, substituting "killing" for "slapping."

'Let's not go that far.' Luz thought.

Luz really wanted to know more about the previous owner of the Yamato. If this was how it acted, she could only imagine how crazy the family must be.

After she showered and got dressed, Luz wrote in her personal journal a bit before the bus came.

'Now I just have to make sure no one makes me mad enough that I pull my sword out.' Luz thought, making a sketch of Yamato.

'We both know that will be difficult.' Yamato said.

'Yeah, I know but still.' Luz thought as she saw the bus arrive from her room window.

"Ugh!" She let out in a groan.

Luz moved back and grabbed her bag, putting jer notebook inside as she was running downstairs and she waved goodbye to his mother, sister, girlfriend, and other friends.

'There she goes.' Amity thought, a bit sad to see her go.

'Don't worry, she'll come back.' Rebellion said to Amity.

'I know but... it hurts seeing her walk away, knowing she can't help with this. She feels so guilty about all of this, I just wish she could help.' Amity thought.

'Just being there to comfort her should be enough. That's how love works, right?' Rebellion asked.

Dante was more of a player than a lover but he at least understood what true love was.

'Doesn't mean it doesn't hurt to see her like that.' Amity thought.

'Love is a great think but it makes you worry too much about your loved ones. Have faith in her, she seems like a strong one.' Rebellion said.

'You have no idea.' Amity thought, smiling a bit.

"Well, I'm off to work kids. Be sure to look after the house while I'm gone and lock the doors if you head to the cabin." Camila said.

"Sure./Yes, Ms. Noceda." Hunter, Gus, and Willow said.

"Bye mom." Vee said with a smile, waving at her.

And with that, the group was alone in the household.

"So, anyone want a second breakfast?" Willow asked, still feeling hungry.

"Sure." Hunter said.

"I could eat." Gus said.

"Me too." Amity said.

The group went back to the kitchen, planning to finish off the leftover breakfast casserole.
