The school bus was driving to the Noceda house as Luz sat in the back and gazed out the window. It was one of the few times Luz felt her mind clear, a rare occurrence.

Even when Yamato was trying to talk to her but Luz ignored it. She was still upset from its comment on her friends and family.

'You cannot ignore me forever, Luz. You need guidance to master me, Beowulf, or any other possible demon weapons you acquire.' Yamato said.

'I don't want to talk right now.' Luz thought.

'Now is the optimal time to talk since you are not home yet and no demons have attacked.' Yamato said to her.

'I just want to relax and do my homework when I get home. I can skip training for a bit. Besides, I need to help my friends with the portal too.' Luz thought.

'You will not be able to open one if you do not train.' Yamato reminded her.

'I mean with a ANOTHER method. You existing in this world means that magic does too, we just haven't found it yet. So, while you're the best option right now, I'm still going to help my friends look for another way back. If all else fails, THEN I reveal you to everyone.' Luz thought.

'You're a very stubborn individual.' Yamato said.

'Damn right I am.' Luz thought before the bus came to her house.

"Noceda!" The driver called out.

Grabbing her bag, Luz stood up and walked off the buzz while bidding goodbye to the only friend she had in it.

"See ya, Masha." Luz said with a nod.

"Later, Luz." Masha said, waving back ad Luz stepped off the bus.

The doors shut behind her and the bus drove off as Luz checked the mailbox, grabbing what was inside.

"Let's see what we got. Bill, bill, random store coupons." Luz said, shuffling through the mail. "Usual basic stuff."

Luz brought the mail to the house and opened the door with her house key.

"Mom, everyone! I'm home!" Luz called out, shutting the door behind her and putting the mail on the coffee table.

"I'm in the kitchen, mija!" Camila said.

'Must we waste more time?' Yamato asked.

'Shut up, you dumb sword.' Luz thought, walking into the kitchen.

"Did you have a good day at school?" Camila asked.

"Yeah, it was fine. By the way, where's Vee and the others?" Luz asked.

"I last saw them in the cabin before I went to work." Camila said.

"Then I'll head there after doing my homework." Luz said, sitting at the kitchen table.

Boring normal homework... for once Luz wouldn't be upset about it.

After everything that's happened before coming AND coming back to Earth, some normalcy is DESPERATELY needed.

'Must I endure this?' Yamato asked.

'It's my life, my soul, and my choice. You don't like it, find another wielder.' Luz mentally comments.

Yamato stayed quiet... except for the occasional correction when Luz made a mistake.

Being so old with Vergil's knowledge, that meant Yamato could at least help with Luz's homework so earn some of her trust back.

And man, she wasn't good at this subject. Yamato knew Luz was smart but she just didn't apply herself where she needed to.

'That last one is wrong. You need to carry the five THEN add 32.' Yamato said to her.

Luz erased her answer and put what Yamato said.

'Thanks.' Luz thought.

'Honestly, from your memories, you're a decent student but this is just deplorable.' Yamato said, scolding Luz.

'Hey! I've had a lot on my mind lately, you especially since I hear you 24/7!' Luz thought, making more corrections.

'It's more than that.' Yamato said.

'No it's not.' Luz thought as she put away her finished homework. 'Now, I'm going to meet with my friends at the cabin.'

'You can't run from this, Luz.' Yamato said.

'I am not stupid if that's what you're saying. I just need to help my friends get back and stop the Collector.' Luz thought, walking to the back door.

"Mija! Tell everyone that dinner is at 6:30pm!" Camila said before she left.

"Okay, mamá!" Luz said as she left the house and walked towards the cabin, but kept her sense sharp for anything that could attack her.

And, since fate liked to mess with Luz, something did attack her.

"Fucking Hell Prides." Luz muttered.

'They have returned and in greater numbers than before.' Yamato said as they could count at least 15 surrounding them.

"Let's make this quick." Luz said, putting her fists up to summon Beowulf to her arms and feet.

'Really?' Yamato asked.

'Until you apologize for what you said about my friends and family, AND MEAN IT, you will be kept in storage.' Luz thought before she ran at the demons.

'Why must humans be so difficult these days?' Yamato said as he watched Luz throw hands against the Hell Prides.

She threw into the air with uppercut, before jumping up and doing a starfall attack to another.

Two Hell Prides swung at her, but Luz bobbed and weaved from their blades, before punching through another and throwing him at two more!

"And stay down!" Luz shouted as one died.

14 to go.

"ROOOAH!" A Hell Pride screamed before throwing his weapon at Luz, making her duck!

"Hey! Watch it!" Luz screamed as she dodged another! "Damn hell demons!"

Luz caught the next one thrown at her and slash the head off another, killing her second one!

"Nice blades. Wonder if I can keep these two." Luz said before blocking another Pride.

'Behind you!' Yamato said.

Luz quickly ducked to the ground as a Pride slashed, trying to kill her.

'Thank you!' Luz thought before front flipping and kicking the Pride in the chin!

Luz jumped in the air and slammed her heel down on another.

'You've killed three of them. Now, finish the rest before they draw unwanted attention!' Yamato said.

'I know!' Luz thought before throwing the sickle and killing a fourth one.

Feeling a rush of power, Luz slammed her fist on the ground and unleashed a powerful burst of light that damaged most of them.

'I don't know if that was a move or not but it works!' Luz thought as she quickly drop kicked another into a tree.

'You leave yourself open after your third strike.' Yamato advised.

'What?' Luz thought before she was punched in the face!

'See? On your left!' Yamato said.

Luz kicked left and snapped a Pride's neck, before she spun and kicked another in the neck.

'Frustration never leads to anything good, Vergil learned that on several occasions.' Yamato said.

'Good for him!' Luz thought before blocking several blade strikes.

'You need to focus! Or summon me to end this faster!' Yamato said.

'Apologize and mean it!' Luz thought before grabbing a sick, pulling a Pride close and punching it into the ground to kill it.

'Your stubbornness will kill you!' Yamato yelled.

'I'm too stubborn to die! You on the other hand, aren't even alive!' Luz mentally argued as she did a spin kick to launch the remaining 10 Hell Prides away.

Except one that recovered quickly and raised its scythe before slashing it down, getting it caught in Luz's arm.

"FUCK!" Luz screamed in pain before punched the Pride's head off and ripping out the scythe. "FINE! Get your nonexistent ass out here!"

Acknowledging her, Yamato manifested in Luz's hand. But what Luz didn't notice was that she didn't switch them out. She had the Yamato out while still wielding Beowulf, this it will double the demonic energy use.

'Luz! Wait!' Yamato shouted as Luz charged at the Prides.

With the added power and speed of Beowulf, Luz draw her most powerful slash and cut through all 9 remaining Hell Prides in one swing, even cutting through some of the trees around!

"Woah." Luz said, in awe as the trees hit the ground.

'Why have I not done this before?' Luz thought before suddenly feeling weak, falling to one knee.

'That is way. Two weapons means double the demonic energy usage. Your body is not strong enough to handle that yet.' Yamato explained, redirecting their remaining energy to heal Luz. 'You are nowhere near as strong as you need to be in order to use some more powerful techniques, ones that could save your life one day.'

'I get that but still, I'll be ready once we're on the same page.' Luz thought as she made Yamato and Beowulf vanish.

'Oh for the love of god and satan! I AM SORRY!' Yamato screamed, actually inadvertently meaning it JUST to get back in good terms with Luz.

"... Thank you." Luz said happily.

Luz got up and felt her energy slowly returning after being healed, looking around at all of the Red Orbs she had gained from killing all of the Hell Prides.

"I'll have to stop by the statue later to convert these." Luz said, holding her hand out and gathering them all into her hand as she absorbed them.

'I will have to treed carefully from now on. The progress of revival hinges on Luz's fully trusting me.' Yamato said to itself.

Luz hummed as she kept walking away like nothing happened.

And the damage to the forest, it would be pitted on a mysterious monster/animal.

Leaving her Scott free for now at least. Here's hoping nothing bad will happen.
