23 - Kara

As soon as I saw Frank I jumped away from Flame breaking our embrace. However, it was too late Frank had already seen enough...

"You're seriously kissing that purple-eyed freak," he scoffed, a glare in his eye.

Flame glared right back at him, I could hear a low growl rumbling from his throat. "Calm down Flame," I whispered in his ear, feeling the tension in his hand which was still locked with mine.

"Just go away Frank," I told him trying to sound strong.

He looked at me and burst out laughing, "What the hell is wrong with your eyes, you look even more stupid than normal. And that's really saying something freak."

That was it for Flame he charged at Frank, breaking my grip on his hand and using that very hand to punch Frank in the stomach. Frank fell to the ground, winded.

"Her eyes are fine you idiot, you're just jealous that you have boring green ones," He snarled at Frank then walked off. Frank was left there gasping for air like a fish out of water.

Flame grabbed hold of my hand and pulled me off somewhere else.

"You know, you have green eyes too," I told him, giggling as we rushed away.

"Yeah well, you don't see me going around picking on people who look different," Flame told me as we walked.

"True and you're eyes are much nicer than his," I whispered, "they stay the same when you're in wolf form."

He stopped walking and I bumped into his back. He then turned to face me, "you shouldn't just say that you don't know who's listening, besides it's the same for every wereanimal, the eyes are the windows to the soul after all," he told me in a hushed voice.

"What does it mean to have purple eyes then?" I asked.

He smiled "I'm no witch but I'd say that you are destined for something great."

I blushed....  and I wondered that maybe that had something to do with what was happening to me, even though Flame denied everything I knew things were changing within me. Did my purple eyes give me that fate...

"Today we have a new student," Mrs May announced "Miss Kara Kream."

She gestured to a girl I would have to describe as vanilla ice cream, and no to call her boring but the colours that she not only wore but seemed to become. She had a golden tan, blonde wavy hair, warm honey eyes not to mention the beige she wore. But despite her strange almost monochromatic appearance, her smile was huge, big enough to make anyone at all feel welcome.

"Hello everyone," you could hear the smile on her voice.

The whole class just stared at her except for Griffin who gave her a wink.

"You may take a seat," Mrs May told her.

She walked over to us smiling, does she ever stop smiling? She sat down in the seat right next to Griffin and moved it closer to him, "So what's your name?"

"Griffin," he replied and smiled back.

"You're cute," She told him returning his wink.

Flame and I both looked at each other thinking, they are perfect for each other.

"You're pretty cute too," he told her.

She stroked his blonde hair, "So pretty...."

"Is stroking a stranger's hair supposed to be a normal thing?" Flame asked me whispering.

"No but.... I don't think this girl is too normal," I whispered back.

"Well she came to the right people then," Flame replied and smiled.

I giggled "we are the group of weird people."

"Hey Kara this is Victoria and Flame," Griffin introduced us to Kara.

We both waved at her awkwardly.

I blinked and suddenly Kara was sitting cross-legged on my desk in front of me looking me in the eyes. I jumped back nearly falling out of my chair. How did she move so quickly? I looked up into her golden eyes and despite the almost aggressive way she had suddenly appeared so close to my face I felt comforted just to know she was there. Instantly I knew we were to have a strong friendship.

"Ok so like your purple eye is terrifying but your left eye looks pretty cute, I think it's going yellow," She told me staring into my eyes but still smiling.

I didn't know how to react to that I was still pretty surprised at her speed. I glanced down and saw the heels she donned, higher than anything I could even consider wearing. Suddenly I was impressed with her speed, in spite of her strange nature.

Flame leaned in towards her, "What are you?" he asked whispering.

She giggled, "I'm an air witch!"

"Shhhh," Flame growled, "other people might hear you."

"So what if they hear me," she giggled.

Flame's face strained but he held his tongue, there was probably so many words jammed in his mouth nothing could make it out. I personally wondered why Kara had such a different outlook to Flame. I looked back at forth between the two.

"Aren't you afraid?" I asked.

Kara merely shrugged, "If anyone wants to question me I'll just distract them with my beauty."

She slipped a leg out of her coat to prove something.

"Well, it works" Griffin also shrugged at Flame.

Griffin and Kara shared a smile, it seemed they had similar minds. I was happy though maybe it would get Griffin off our backs. Flame didn't seem too thrilled by the newest member of our friendship group.

The bell rang and we all walked out of class.

"What the hell is that?" I heard a painfully familiar voice yell loudly behind us. We all turned around to see Frank staring down at Kara.

Kara smiled back up at him, "I am Kara Kream."

He laughed, "more like ice cream."

I rolled my eyes but there were a few snickers from around the corridor and all eyes were on Kara. She didn't run away, she did cry, she didn't even look upset or angry. "I happened to like ice creams so if you're trying to insult me," she smiled looking like she wanted to murder him, "you failed."

She then walked off. I did not have much faith in her but she can handle assholes like a pro. Frank just stood there looking a little shocked.

Griffin shouted at Frank, "Yeah don't mess with us blondes, we bite."

I was waiting outside my maths classroom which was the first lesson of the day if you don't count homeroom when Kara walked up to me.

"Look's like I'm in your maths class," she squealed then hugged me knocking all of my books onto the floor.

"Great..." I groaned.

"Oh don't worry about your books," she said and waved her hand and the books lifted themselves off the ground, organised themselves into a neat pile and landed in my arms. Like something out of Harry Potter before my eyes.

"Wow..." I exclaimed, so she really is a witch.

"I probably shouldn't be using magic when all these mortals are around but oops," she said but I could tell she wasn't about to stop. I didn't care I was intrigued by her attitude, being so different from Flame's. I was honestly just impressed.

The teacher unlocked the door and we all walked in. Still wasn't Mr Pan and I didn't want to risk the embarrassment of asking again. Mr Pan had become nothing but a strange dream, still, one that lingered in the back of my mind and curiosity.

Kara and I sat next to each other.

"So how do you do this question?" she asked. I looked over to the book and looked at the question. It was the easiest one in the chapter.

"Ummmm that's just expanding the brackets, Kara," I told her, giving her a concerned look.

"What's expanding the brackets?" She asked looking confused.

"Why are you even in this class if you don't know how to expand a bracket?" I asked her.

"Timetable malfunction," she shrugged.

I sighed, the girl can control the air around her but hasn't learnt maths, this is going to be a llloooonnnngggg lesson.

Ding, Ding, Ding the bell went. I have never been so happy in my life to hear the sound of that bell. The whole maths lesson I was trying to get Kara to pay attention but she kept flirting with the guy behind us, playing with rubbers that look like macaroons, drawing pictures of Naruto and saying they look hot, drawing pictures of Sanji and saying they look hot, drawing pictures of Alois Trancy and saying they look hot, she even drew a picture of the guy behind us and showed it to him. He moved away shortly after that. Suffice to say we didn't get much maths done that lesson. Honestly, she was driving me crazy, I pretty much ran out of the classroom but she chased after me.

"Victoria wait you forgot your picture of Alois I drew for you!" She called out as she chased after me and she is fast but I am faster. I quickly got to my locker and shoved my books in. Flame was standing there.

"So how was maths?" he asked me, I groaned, "algebra that hard huh?"

"It wasn't the algebra that was hard," I sighed looking over at Kara who was pushing past people.

"She was in your maths class?" Flame asked me in disbelief, "She doesn't look like the type of person that could even manage counting past ten."

"She lacks focus," I sighed.

Kara ran up to me, "You have to put this picture of Alois up in your locker."

"I don't even like Alois he is creepy," I told her.

She gasped in horror.

Flame chuckled and I smiled at him and closed my locker. He smiled back and put his arm around me. Luckily Kara didn't notice, she was too busy with her picture of Alois Trancy.

"You know I haven't seen any vampires around in days," Flame whispered into my ear.

"Really?" I asked looking up at him.

"Yeah it's like they all just disappeared," he told me.

"Well, that's got to be a good thing right," I muttered.

"I'm worried they are planning something," He whispered in my ear. Just the feel of his breath on my neck sent shivers down my spine and not the bad kinds of shivers too.

"Just be careful," I told him.

"Are you two talking about the vampires?" Kara asked her face for the first time looking serious.

"Yeah, we are curious about where they went," Flame told her.

She giggled "Look at that girl in your arms she could take down hundreds of vamp-"

Flamed lept at her and covered her mouth "We will be right back Victoria, Kara and I need to have a little chat."

"Ok," I replied. What was she talking about, me taking down hundreds of vampires... I don't think so.
