Chapter 6: Happy Harbour.

500 reads! Thank you guys so much, this means a lot to me.

Me, Robin and Kid Flash (who's real name was Wally) were at Happy Harbor, trying to convince Roy to come back to the team, although personally, I didn't think we needed him. The arrogant jerk.

We had to hide behind some bushes, near the docks, because he was taking on a super villain and his goons. Alone. He's so stupid.

We were crouched down, and I was concentrating really hard on keeping my bright blue aura at bay. So much, that I was shaking a little bit, gritting my teeth in effort. Hal didn't really have to do this, covert stuff, so I'm not very well trained in that area.

I felt a shove to my left, and, due to me not expecting it, I fell to the floor, my blue glow surrounding me once again. Luckily, none of the men saw me, and it gave me enough time to crawl back behind the bushes, turning to see who pushed me.

Wally sat on his knees, sniggering. That little bitch. I slapped his shoulder, not being able to do more without him screaming in pain. It's his lucky day.

"Can you be serious for once?" I whisper-shouted at him, seething in silent rage. "We're on a mission." He sobers up slightly, trying to contain his laughter, but failing miserably. I turned back to our mission, assessing the situation.

Two men were unloading a van of weapons onto a boat, probably to sell on the black market, but a red arrow whizzed between the two, sinking into a barrel, and releasing gas onto the two.

The taller of the two reached in to the van, and pulled out a very high-tech looking gun. He looked around, trying to find the person shooting the arrows, when he sees Speedy on the construction above the two, in a new costume, showing his muscled arms. Not that I was looking.
He ditched the horrible hat, finally.

"I'm starting to get offended Green Arrow's not coming to mess up my operations personally," The villain, who was three times too big to be a normal person, shouts.

Speedy, or Roy now, because he apparently doesn't like Speedy anymore, shouts something back.

Roy shoots an exploding arrow at the man, and it should have at least knocked him out. But all it did was ruin his shirt. "Ugh! Do you know how much I pay to get a shirt like this?Scorch the earth boys!"

He shouts, and his cronies immediately jump at us, and that's when we jumped in,me basically diving at them in excitement.

I smashed at least three off of the side of the docks, into the water, and turned, sweeping my arm around, a wall of blue light taking out four more.

I shot a blue pulse (haha bluepulse) of energy at another, knocking him to the floor, flying down and punching him in the face quickly.

While the guys and I were taking down the men, like the badasses we are, Robin and KF were trying to convince Roy about Young Justice, that it was a good thing.
"The cave has everything we need, for, you know, covert, spy stuff." Robin assures him, as he throws a batarang at a group of them, sending them scattering like bowling pins.

"Yeah, and wait till you see Superboy and Miss Martian. But I saw her first."

I roll my eyes at Wally, and hit four of the men with a glowing, huge baseball bat. I love my job.

All of the goons were taken out. We just had to capture the giant guy. "Tell Green Arrow he shouldn't send boys to do a mans job." He growls at us, stepping forward. I make a tripwire, that sends him sprawling onto the floor.

"I'm a girl," I smile sarcastically at him. He jumps back to his feet, and makes to lunge at me. But Roy shoots him with a special arrow, that covers him in foam, effectively freezing him.

"High density polyurethane foam. Nice." Wally comments to Roy, him barely acknowledging his presence, like I do all the time.

"So, Speedy, you in?" Robin asks excitedly, hoping that the original team could reunite, with a few new members of course.

"Pass," Roy answers gruffly. "I'm done letting Arrow and the League tell me what to do. I don't need a babysitter, or a clubhouse to hang out with the other kids.
Your little Junior Justice League is a joke, and I don't want any part of it." He practically growls, getting in our faces, and turns around to walk away.

After the three of us take time to process the rant Roy went on, I shake my head, and turn to the boys.
"C'mon, we don't need him. We'll just go back to the cave, and wait for Red Tornado."

They nod at my idea, and we walk to the nearest zeta tubes.

'Recognized: Robin B-01, Kid Flash B-03, Blue Lantern B-04.' The computerized voice says, as we walk into the main entrance of the cave.
Well, Wally super-speeded ahead, rushing up to M'gann, Superboy and Aqualad, who's name was Kaldur, I had found out.
Actually, he told me, but I like to think I'm as much a detective as Boy Wonder over there.

"Did you ask him? What did he say?" He bombards the three with questions, not giving them time to answer before another one was thrown in their faces.

"Calm down and let them answer," I said to Wally, putting a hand over his mouth, while he mumbled in protest, but nobody could hear him.

"He hasn't arrived yet," Aqualad told us, chuckling. I felt a wet, rough substance run over my hand. Wally's tongue.

"Ew!" I screamed, wiping my hand off of his suit. KF and Robin sniggered, high-fiving each other.

I was about to unleash hell on the both of them, when the zeta tube announced Red Tornado, turning everyone's attention to the red robot.

"Hey, Red," Robin says casually, too awkward to be normal.

"Hello. Is there a reason you intercept me outside the cave?" Red asks politely.

"Well, we were wondering if you had a mission for us."

"I'm afraid mission assignments are the Batman's responsibility." He answers.

Damn. I was getting kinda bored waiting, and I haven't gone patrolling with Hal since I started with the team.

"But it's been more than a week-" Wally begins to protest, but Red cuts him off.

"You will be tested soon enough. Maybe you can get to know each other in the time you aren't out on the field." He suggests, and I don't think that's a very bad idea. We didn't really know anything about each other.

"This team isn't a social club," Robin protested, wanting to get straight into the action.

"I understand, but studies show that team bonding can help with trusting each other more." He tells us, and walks away, towards the zeta tubes.

"Does he think we're falling for this?" Robin scoffs, crossing his arms, obviously annoyed about having no missions.

"I'll find out!" M'gann exclaims happily, glad to be of use, and she turns to Red, her eyes glowing green, trying to read his mind.

She tried for a few seconds, but nothing seemed to happen. Red walked through the zeta tubes, disappearing in a flash of light, to wherever he was going.

"Ugh, Sorry, I forgot he's a machine, inorganic. I can't read his mind," She said sheepishly, rubbing her arm.

"Nice try, though. We aren't able to do that," I grinned at her, hoping to comfort her.

She smiled tentatively at me, grateful for the support.

"So, uh, you know what I'm thinking right now?" Wally asks, sliding an arm around M'gann's shoulder, biting his lip.

"We all know what you're thinking right now." Robin deadpans, shoving Wally's arm off of her.

"Superboy and I could give you a tour," M'gann said, levitating off of the floor. "We live here."

We all look to Superboy, who glares defensively, crossing his arms. "What? Don't look at me."

"That's okay," Wally said, going back up to Megan. "A private tour sounds more fun."

"Sh-she never said private!" Robin stuttered, obviously infatuated by M'gann.
She was like the shiny new toy, whereas I had been here since the start, and hadn't fallen for Wally's flirty ways. He thinks Megan is an easy target, as she doesn't know a lot about earth yet.

"We all go. As a team." Aqualad finally speaks up, in a commanding voice.

Wally deflates slightly, and Megan flies through a hallway, expecting us to follow and keep up, and starts to give us a tour of the cave.

"Wait," I call, before Megan disappears from view completely.

"I'm gonna flash out of my suit. You might want to look away."

They shield their eyes, while I close mine, concentrating. I cross my arms into an x over my chest, like Wonder Woman, and a blinding blue aura surrounds me, and my suit almost dissolved off of me, the energy returning to my ring. I really need to charge it soon.

I was back in my civilian clothes, a green hoodie that matched my eyes, and black leggings.

Everyone was gaping at me, mouths slightly open. Well, Wally's was almost hitting the floor.
"How does that work?" Robin asked curiously, stepping forward and examining me.

"Space magic." I said simply, almost laughing at how quickly Wally's face changed. By this time, we were walking down one of the many hallways.

"Magic? Yeah right. More like advanced technology," KF scoffs, rolling his eyes.

"What? You don't believe in the mystical arts?" I ask sarcastically. Of course he doesn't. He's probably some science nerd or something.

"Oh please. Science can explain everything." Called it. Mental high-five.

"No it can't. Sometimes, science can't tell us everything. A lot of the time, you just have to believe, and hope." I tell him honestly.

He narrows his eyes at me. "You're Blue Lantern, you have to tell us to hope. It's in the job description."

I laughed slightly. "The ring chose me because of my ability to hope. To believe in things, things that we may not be able to see."

Wally snorts. "What does a happy-go-lucky girl like you have to hope for? To win the next ballet competition?"

That one hit home for me. Hurt crossed my face, and Robin must have seen it, because he gave me a look of sympathy. He has to have known about my life. I mean, he can hack into Batman's secret encoded files.

I got up into Wally's face, having to step on my tip toes because he was almost a head taller than me, my sudden menacing attitude backing him into a wall.

"You don't know what I've had to hope for in my life. How much I've had to live with. Don't think for a second that you know me."

With that, I walked faster, away from him, and walked beside Aqualad.
