Suddenly, the computer lit up, and Superman's face showed up.

"Superman to Justice League. There's been an explosion at Cadmus. It's on fire." He explained.

"I've had my suspicions about Cadmus. This may be the perfect opportunity to-" Batman was cut off by Zatara appearing on the screen.

"Zatara to Justice League. The sorcerer Wotan is using the amulet of Attan to block out the sun," he claimed. "Requesting full League response."

Batman looked back to Superman. "Superman?" He asked.

"It's a small fire. Local authorities have it under control." Then why would you bother telling the JL? I wondered.

Then Cadmus can wait. All Leaguers rendezvous at Zatara's coordinates. Batman out."

The screen turned off.
"Stay here." Batman commanded. I knitted my eyebrows in confusion. Why can't we help our mentors?

"What? Why?!" Robin voiced my thoughts.

"This is a League mission." Aquaman said.
"You're not trained," Flash jumps in.

"Since when?!" Kid Flash spoke angrily.
"We're ready!" I interjected.

"I meant you're not trained to work as part of a team."

"For now, stay put." Batman glared at us.
"Not this time kid." Hal put a hand on my shoulder,obviously knowing I'd be disappointed.
Green Arrow turned to Martian Manhunter.
"Glad you didn't bring you-know-who?" He asked.
"Indeed." MM replied.

All of the Justice Leaguers walked out.
"Do they seriously think we're not ready? I thought Green Lantern had more faith in me than that..."
I said sadly.

"When we're ready?!" Kid Flash explodes. "How can we be ready when they treat us like.....sidekicks?!" He growled out that horrible word.

"My king, I thought he trusted me.." Aqualad trails off.

"Trusts us?!" KF says sarcastically. "They don't even trust us with the basics! They've got a secret HQ in space!" He gestures wildly to the ceiling.

"What else aren't they telling us?" Aqualad voices what we're all thinking.

"I have a better question," Robin says bitterly. "Why didn't we leave with Speedy?"
The room was filled with silence.

"What's Project Cadmus?" I asked the three boys. Robin perked up.

"Don't know, but I can find out," Said Robin.

He started typing on the main computer, and the screen flashed red. 'Access Denied.' It said.

"Wanna bet?" He said cockily.
He kept typing, and the screen flashed again, but this time green.

'Access granted.' "Woah, Dow did you do that?" KF asks amazed. "Same system as the Batcave." Robin states, completely casually.

"So, you just randomly hack into the Batcave whenever you want?" I asked.

He ignored my question.
"Project Cadmus. A genetics lab here in D.C.  That's all there is, but if Batman is suspicious, maybe we should investigate."

"Solve their case before they do," KF states.
"It would be poetic justice." Aqualad reasons.

"Heh. And they're all about justice." Robin grins.
"But they said stay put." I said.

"For the blotting our the sun mission, not this." Well, that's true. They said nothing about Cadmus.

Kid Flash turns to me, slipping an arm around my shoulder. "Are you going? Cause if you're going, I'm going." I immediately shoved his hand off me.

I turned back to Aqualad and Robin. "And just like that, we're a team, on a mission?" I asked the three.
They nodded. "We didn't come here for a play date." Robin spoke.

I grinned at my new teammates. "Let's do this!"

"Ah!" "Help us!" Two scientists screamed as they fell off the building.

Kid flash sped ahead of us, and ran up the wall, catching the two and throwing them onto the roof.

But he must have miscalculated his jump, because he ends up holding onto the edge of the ledge.
" ooh ooh, it's what's his name,- Flash Boy!" The fireman shouted.

Kid Flash mumbled something, but from all the way up there, I couldn't hear it.

"Does he always run ahead? We need a plan." I stated.

"We-Robin?" Aqualad calls out, as Robin had simply disappeared.
Creepy laughter echoes where Robin just was, and it kinda freaked me out.

"Ugh. Guess we have to do it ourselves." I mumble.

I flew up to the top of the building, and created a glowing, blue platform for the two scientists, who were still stuck on the roof.

"Climb aboard!" I say confidently.
They step on, and I quickly float them to the ground, while Aqualad uses the fireman hose to get to the window where Kid Flash was still stuck.

I flew up to Aqualad. "Appreciate the help," Aqualad says to Kid Flash and Robin, who magically reappeared.

"You had it covered," Robin day with a wave of his hand.

We walked inside, and inspected the place. Me and Aqualad waked towards an elevator, and, just as it was closing, we saw these blue-white..... things?
"What are those?" I muttered to myself.

Robin and Wally walked over to us.
"Elevators should be shut down," said KF confusedly.
"This is wrong.That's a high speed elevator," said Robin, pressing buttons on his wrist-computer. " This shouldn't be in a two-floor building."

"Neither is what Blue Lantern and I saw," Replied Aqualad, me nodding in confirmation.

Aqualad quickly pried open the elevator doors, and, as his shirt was sleeveless, I couldn't help but notice the way his muscles flexed under his shirt, his skin rippling..... No! I screamed at myself. He's your teammate.

When the door was finally opened, I looked down to see many, many storeys. "Woah," I breathed, kinda dizzy from all the floors.

Robin knelt down, looking over the edge. "And that's why they need an express elevator." States Robin happily.

He shoots his grappling gun onto the top of the elevator shaft, and starts to climb down the rope. Kid Flash and Aqualad follow suit, while I just fly down.

Robin eventually stops at level 26. "Okay, I'm at the end of my rope," he tells the other two, while I hover in the air.

Robin, KF and Aqualad jump to the edge of the closed elevator door, and Robin starts typing on his arm computer again.

"Bypassing security..... there. Go!" He whispers to Aqualad. Aqualad pried open the doors.
"Welcome to project Cadmus." Robin whispers to us.

Kid Flash immediately runs ahead.
"Wait!" Aqualad whisper-shouts to him. "KF!" I shout, and fly after him.

I catch up to him just as he is about to run onto another corridor, that was filled with these giant.... things. I create a construct of a wall, that he smashes into. Hey, better than getting stomped on.
"Ouch!" He whispers to me. "No," He starts sarcastically to the rest of the group. "Nothing weird going on here."

We keep walking, and we come across a door. It opens on its own,and we are all surprised by what we see. There were columns of glass containers, and inside were these glowing, blue creatures, and they were generating electricity.

"Okay. I'm officially whelmed." Robin states.

"This is how they hide this massive facility from the world!" Kid Flash realizes. "The real Cadmus isn't on the grid. It generates its own power, with these..... things." He gestures to the blue creatures. "It must be what they're bred for!"

"Even the name is a clue. The Cadmus of myth created a new race by sowing dragons teeth into the earth." Aqualad said.

"This Cadmus creates new life too! Let's find out why." Robin mutters.

He walks over to the computer in the middle of the room, and connects it to his arm computer.

While he does that, I whisper to Aqualad. "Where did those Cadmus people get those dragon teeth? More importantly, where can I get some?"

He doesn't say anything, just chuckles.

Robin keeps hacking.He does... something, and starts reading off of the computer.

"They call them... genomorphs," Robin reads to us. "Woah! Look at the stats on these things! Super strength, Telepathy, razor claws, these things are living weapons!" He exclaimed.

"Their engineering an army!" KF shouts.
"But for who?" I wonder aloud.

"Wait. There's something else." Robin stops Kid. "Project Kr." He tries to open the file, but a lock shows up on the screen.

"Ugh! The file's triple encrypted!" He says in annoyance.

"Robin? Aqualad? Blue Lantern? Kid Flash?" A confused voice called.

A man, dressed in all black, with a gold helmet and shield, and some kind of animal on his shoulder walked out from the shadows.
"At least he got your name right." Robin whispers to KF, and I laugh.

He seems suspicious, I thought curiously. There's just something not right about this.

Aqualad recognized him. "I know you. Guardian, a hero."

"I do my best." The man, Guardian, chuckles humbly.

"Then what are you doing here?" KF asks.

"I think that's my question here, guys. I'm chief of security." He said sternly.

"You're trespassing," Guardian continues. "But we can call the Justice League, figure this out."

"You think the League's gonna approve of you breeding weapons?" Kid Flash accused.  

"Weapons?" Guardian asks, obviously confused. "What are you-" His eyes go wide as the animal on his shoulder's horns began to glow red.

Suddenly, he speaks in such an aggressive voice, you'd think we ran over his car or something. "Take them down hard!" He points at us. "No mercy!"

All at once, a bunch of these white-ish animals, genomorphs, jumped out of the shadows. We fight them off as best we can, but anyone could see we wold lose if we kept this up.

I smashed a Genomorph against the wall with a glowing fist, and flew over and pulled one off of KF, while punching it.

I look to my left, to realize Robin had ran to the elevator. I realized his idea, and shouted to the other two.
"Guys! Come on!" They quickly followed me, running into the elevator just as it closed.

"Way to be a team player, Rob," Kid Flash says, out of breath.
"Weren't you behind me?" Robin retorts, confused, as he presses the button on the elevator for the bottom floor.

"We're headed down?" Kid Flash questions. "Dude, out is up."
"We have to leave." I said sternly to Robin.

"Excuse me?" He says,annoyed. "Project Kr is on sub-level 52." He explains, as if we were children. I know we're teenagers, but he's younger than us!

"This is out of control." KF states.
"Perhaps we should contact the league." Aqualad says, more kindly than KF.

"We're already here." Robin replied, just as the elevator doors opened.

"Which way?" I said.
"Bizarre looking hallway number one, or bizarre looking hallway number two?" Robin remarked sarcastically.

"Halt!" A humanoid-looking creature shouted at us. As if we'd just stop. His horns glowed red, and he started telekinetically throwing cans at us, that we dodged.
"They're headed for Project Kr!" He shouted to Guardian, who started running at us.

"Aah! Hurry!" KF practically screams at us. We run through the first hallway, and scramble into the first door we see.

We all lean against the door, breathing heavily. "I disabled the door." Robin says proudly. "We're safe."

"We're trapped." Aqualad corrects him.
"Uh, guys," KF called out to us. "You're gonna want to see this."

We followed the sound of Kid Flash's voice, and were shocked at what we saw.

There was a boy, with black hair, who looked to be about sixteen,trapped in a glass tube. He looked like he was asleep.

"Woah," we all mumbled, in awe.
"Big K, little r. Atomic symbol for  Krypton. Clone?" KF continued.

"Robin. Hack." Aqualad ordered.
"Oh. Right,right." Robin walked to the computer, hacked, and started reading.

"Weapon designation Superboy, a clone force-grown in 16 weeks?!" Robin, and all of us, were astonished.

"From DNA acquired from Superman." He continued. "Stolen from Superman," Aqualad corrected.

"No way the big guy knows about this," Kid Flash said. "Superman wouldn't let this happen if he knew." I voiced my opinion.

"Solar suit allows him to absorb yellow sun radiation 24/7." Rob kept reading.
"And these creatures? Genomorph gnomes, telepathic,force-feeding him an education."

"And who knows what else." Aqualad said. "Their making a slave out of, well, Superman's son." Kid Flash assumed.

"Now we contact the league," Aqualad ordered. "No signal." Robin replied.

"We're in too deep. Literally." Kid Flash attempts to joke, but nobody laughed.

"What are we going to do?" I wondered.

"We can't leave him like this," I finally spoke up.
We all look to Aqualad, to see his opinion, as he was the oldest out of us all.
"Set him free. Do it," He says to us.

We open the tube, and he wakes up immediately, his bright blue eyes snapping open. "Ugh," He says intelligently, and immediately starts thrashing around, while KF and Robin held him down.

"Woah, hang on, Supey," KF says to him. "We're here to set you free," I say kindly to him.

His eyes widened, and suddenly, with a surge of strength, gave KF an uppercut and threw him against the nearest wall. He crumpled to the floor, disorientated.

Next, he ran to Robin. He was fast enough to dodge the first punch, but the next fist came so quick and hard that Robin was sent flying across the lab.

My turn. I flew over quickly, and made a construct of a baseball bat, and smashed him against a nearby pillar.

I didn't expect him to get up so quickly.
He got back up straight away, and jumped towards me, sending a fist into my abdomen.

I fell to the floor, and he got on top of me, almost taking off my head. Thankfully, I made a shield, that separated me from him.

Robin tackled him off of me, and they both were sent flying. "I don't want to do this," he mumbled to himself, as he fired a gas bomb into Superboys face.

He started coughing violently, while Robin ran over and tried to punch his face. Superboy caught his hand, and threw him backwards. Robin scrambled up from the floor, and tasters Superboy with a gadget he pulled from his utility belt.

It didn't seem to affect him. He pulled off the wires that were attached to his chest, and ran to Robin, and kicked him in the stomach with such a force that he went flying against the nearest wall, hit it, and fell unconscious.

Then I got back up from the floor, and did a little trick that Hal taught me. I let my blue hue, that constantly surrounds me when I don the suit, turn into a blinding light, that stunned anyone who looked directly at me.

Superboy shielded his eyes, and I flew to him, and punched him in the stomach. He keeled over, and I grabbed the top of his head, and forced it down, onto my waiting knee.

His head snapped backwards from the impact, but he quickly got over the pain, and tackled me to the floor.

He punched me in the face, with super strength no doubt, and that was when I blacked out.
