Chapter 8- Let the Training Begin
I do not own Naruto
............................
I opened my eyes to the bright light, my breathing shallow. Looking at my souroundings to see I was in a room. Sitting up, I pulled the blanket off of me.
Looking around I couldn't find my bag. Coughing I ran to the bathroom to wash away the blood I coughed up, hoping not to stain the spotless floor. When I looked into the mirror I saw my head bandaged up.
Panting I coughed up more crimson liquid. "Where's my bag?" I thought desperately. "Also, where am I?" That was when I heard footsteps running up the stairs and the door to my room open.
"Yuki?" A male voice said.
Quickly I washed all the blood away, only it kept coming as the pain made itself present in my chest. I kept coughing making more blood come out of my mouth. The male ran to the bathroom I was in.
"Here ,I got your medication." Sasuke handed me my pills.
Grabbing them I nodded gratefully before taking them. Soon the pain subsided and my coughing slowed. Slowly I slid down to the floor panting.
"Thanks Sasuke." I muttered.
"Whatever Yuki, Kakashi sensei wants to see you." Sasuke paused. "Also, don't push yourself like that again."
I looked up to see him leave the room. Wiping away the remaining blood from my mouth I grabbed onto the counter to help myself up. After washing out my mouth I staggered out of my bathroom. Seeing my bag becide the bathroom door I put my bottle inside it then walked out of the room.
"Now where do I go?" I muttered looking down the hall.
"Yuki-chan?" I turned to see Naruto standing behind me.
"Hey Naruto-kun do you know whe-" I was cut off by Naruto grabbing me and hugging me tightly. My eyes widened in shock. Before I could hug him back Naruto let go then rubbed his head sheepishly.
"Sorry Yuki-chan, it's just you really scared me, you were out for at least a day." Naruto grinned, causing me to do the same.
"It's fine Naruto-kun, do you know where Kakashi sensei is?" I asked, Naruto nodded then took my hand and dragged me downstairs, where I saw everyone sitting. What caught my eye was two new people a woman and a little kid.
"Oh I see you're awake." She smiled in a motherly way. I smiled back shyly.
"Yup, and I'm better as ever!" I fist pumped the air. Only I lost my balance, luckily before I could hit the ground Naruto caught me.
"Baka." I head Saskue mutter shaking his head.
"Take it easy now Yuki, you did get hit on the head pretty hard." She chided me. A warm smile was brought onto my face, something about this woman reminds me a little of my mother.
"Yuki I need to talk to you." I looked up at Kakashi to see him walk outside. I quickly followed, where Kakashi was waiting for me. Closing the door I turned to look at my sensei.
"I thought I told you to take it easy." He sighed at my frustrated face.
"I'm sorry sensei. But, I have to try my best to protect my comrades. I can't just sit back and let them do all the fighting. I don't care if I die in the process, as long as their safe." I clenched my fist looking down.
"I know that, but I don't want you to die either. I'm sure they feel the same way. You don't need to push yourself that far. If I'm right, you push yourself too much that illness can kill you." I nodded stiffly.
"See? Now I don't want you training chakra control with everyone else. You need to rest." He ruffled my hair giving a closed eye smile.
"Kakashi sensei! I can't just sit back and not train!" I whined, then sighed. "Well, I've already been through chakra control anyway."
Once again Kakashi sighed. "You know Yuki, you're getting to be one of my more complicated students. I would like to see you try the training we've been doing. I find it hard to believe you already received training for this. You can join in with us today, but only if you take it easy." I smiled at Kakashi happily.
"Thank's sensei!" We walked into the house, everyone was eating, although I didn't see the little kid anymore.
"Hey Yuki-chan I saved you a seat! Dattebayo!"Naruto shouted pulling a seat from beside him.
"Thanks Naruto-kun." I smiled as I sat down next to him and Kakashi sitting on my other side. Sasuke and Sakura sat across from us. Looking down at the food I knew if I didn't eat at least one serving Kakashi would not let me train. Besides since I'm not at full strength I would need this.
Quickly I ate my food, lost in my thoughts. Did Kakashi tell them about my illness? Could that be why Naruto hugged me this morning? I thought glancing sideways to see my friend eating happily, well not as happy as when he eats ramen but happy. Gathering up the dishes I brought them to the sink and washed the dirty dishes.
Wiping my hands on a dry towel I asked "Can we go train now Kakashi sensei?"
Sakura looked at me, her mouth pulled together tightly before she looked at Kakashi with concern. "Should Yuki be training, sensei?"
Kakashi raised an eyebrow. "Well, we don't want her falling behind everyone else. Besides, I'll be there to make sure she doesn't push herself too hard."
She paused then nodded and went to slip on her shoes. I narrowed my eyes, was Haruno just acting concerned for me?
.............................
Naruto, Sasuke, Kakashi and I all left. Since Sakura was good enough Kakashi had her go guard Tazuna. I looked down in one of my pockets of my outfit, after making sure that I had two pills with me I continued down with the others.
"So what kind of chakra control are we doing?" I asked.
"We are climbing trees Yuki-chan!" Naruto shouted as I sweatdropped.
"You forgot to mention that we can't use our hands, dobe." Sasuke added.
"Oh, I already know how to do that." I stated starting to get less excited.
"Do you now?" Kakashi spoke up, I nodded. "Then how about you show us then?"
Focusing chakra to my feet I ran off towards the tree. I will admit I normally suck at chakra control, but when it comes to this it was easy. Seeing as how my mom had me do this since I was seven. She claimed that crystal users needed almost perfect chakra control.
I made it to the very top before I stopped, looking down I barley made out the shocked faces of everyone. Running down I grinned as I could see their faces up close. Kakashi looked proud while at the same time slightly shocked. Naruto looked shocked but happy I was able to do it. Sasuke, well he looked like I was the one who killed his clan, meaning he was glaring at me. His glare softened when he saw me look at him.
Both boys looked at each other and nodded, then they took a running start for the trees. Looking at my sensei I asked. "Is there anything else you can teach me?"
He shook his head. "Not now I don't have anything, but if you want to train so much, maybe try improving one of your jutsu or even your kekkai genkai." I nodded. Quickly before I left I looked at the boys progress, they were not doing all that great, Sasuke was slightly more ahead then Naruto.
Nodding to myself I ran for another clearing for some privacy. Normaly when I train I like to be alone.
I grinned when I found another clearing, already knowing what jutsu I wanted to work on. The wolf claw jutsu, I had picked up that jutsu from my father, despite how reluctant he was to teach me. I planned on making it more, my style.
Making needed handsigns I whispered. "Wolf claw." Then, on both of my hands grew shiny claws. While they could still cut almost anything, to me they were still very fragile.
My goal is make the claws almost like my crystal jutsu's. As I kept trying to play with my jutsu one of my memories came over me.
~Flashback~
I waved goodbye to my mom as she left the village for a mission. Dad said since he didn't have any missions us two could have a whole day together. To say I was excited was a understatement, my dad normally had missions all the time.
"So Yuki, what do you want to do toady?" Dad asked looking down into my green eyes.
"Oh! I know! Could you show me one of your ninja jutsu's?" I asked hopeful. While my mom always agreed, that being my only time with her, my dad didn't want me being a ninja. He feared my illness would be my downfall in any mission I would go on. Of course he was right in a way,but I always hoped he would have more faith in me.
His face hardened at the mention of that. "Well, no I'm sorry Yuki, but you know how I feel about that." He paused looking at my pout.
"But how about I take you to the park?" I shook my head.
"If we can't train then let's just go out for ramen." I said stubbornly making my dad chuckle and ruffled my hair leading us to the best ramen ever.
When we got there I saw Iruka and Naruto, one of my classmates, there. Dad smiled as he sat next to me, while I sat next to Naruto.
Iruka looked over at us then smiled. "Hey Teno and Yuki." I greeted Iruka by nodding back at him. Dad started talking to Iruka so I looked at Naruto.
I had always known about Naruto, although I'm not sure if he knew about me. I had always admired Naruto for always smiling, despite the fact that everyone always treated him badly. "My name is Yuki Okami." I greeted waving slightly.
Naruto ignored me as he smiled slurping on his ramen. Sighing I put my hand down and waited for my bowl of food.
Every time I tried to talk to Naruto I would get interrupted by him ordering more ramen, or he would ignore me eating his precious ramen. After giving up I quietly ate my ramen, which was a small bowl, so it didn't last very long. Soon dad had finished talking to Iruka and ate his food.
As we left we heard Iruka shout. "Naruto you ate fifteen bowls of ramen!"
"So where next little lady?" Dad put me on his shoulders when I shrugged.
"Hmm, how about we do some shuriken practice?" He said making my ears perk up.
"Really?" I asked my eyes narrowed, I saw him nod.
Grinning I shouted "Okay lets go!" I jumped off his shoulders and ran ahead him. I wouldn't tell this to him, but I had perfect aim. However, if he was going to give me some kind of attention towards my ninja training, I would pretend to be horrible at it.
..................
Dad set up five targets, I smirked as an idea came to me. "I wanna make a bet dad." He put his hand on his chin in a thinking pose then agreed.
"If I get all the targets in the center, you have to teach me a cool jutsu." I smiled sweetly. Perhaps I wouldn't have to pretend to suck at throwing knives.
He narrowed his eyes, his face hardening. "And if you don't get them all?" My smile widened.
"Then I will tell you a secret, that no one knows expect for me." Eventualy he agreed, reluntly might I add.
Smiling broadly I threw all five shuriken without looking. Of course they all hit the bulls eye. Shocked, but proud my dad stared.
"That's my girl." He smiled.
"Now for the jutsu!" I grinned.
"Okay, this one is called Wolf claws." He explained. "It's a clan favorite."
~End~
Panting I smiled as I looked at my progress, I had succeeded in making my fathers jutsu my own.
