It wasn't long after I had arrived that Shikamaru had come up with a plan. Knowing Naruto and I were on the same team as Naruto, he knew we would be the best bet to get him back. Which meant that he would stay behind to fight the girl, and Naruto and I would go ahead.

Naruto had manged to just barely get passed the girl, although Shikamaru didn't seem happy to be fighting a girl. Since he had to fight Temari during the chunin exams, and he just plainly thought females were troublesome. I can't say he's completely wrong, but in our defence males are very troublesome as well.

Melendy glanced up at me, to which I nodded and tightened my grip on her fur. Shikamaru nodded at me, his shadow holding onto the female, giving us enough time to get past the Orochimaru henchman.

Both Naruto and I ran into a clearing, our attention first landing on the white haired boy who seemed sickly pale. Then, our attention was dragged to the barrel that the boy was protecting, a dark chakra flowing out of the sealed barrel. I knew Sasuke was inside.

"Give Sasuke back!" Naruto shouted as I got off of Melendy and took a defence stance. 

"I can't, Sasuke is to be Lord Orochimaru's vessel. I serve Lord Orochimaru and since I'm no longer fit to be his vessel I will deliver Sasuke to him." The boy said monotone.

He looked at me for a second, I only glared at him. "I don't care what that pedo Orochimaru wants! He's not getting our friend- comrade!" I snarled

Forming handsigns I said. "Crystal release- Jade crystal blade!" Just as the crystal formed the boy chuckled.

"You're the other kid Orochimaru wants. Kabuto instructed me if I see you I am to bring you back, alive of course." He pulled out a bone, I crunched my nose up in disgust as I saw this. Naruto glared clenching his fist.

Suddenly he shouted, "You're not getting Yuki-chan, nor are you getting Sasuke! I made a promise and I never go back on my word!"

Just then the lid popped off, Sasuke stood and stepped out of the barrel, dark chakra consumed him. Both Naruto and I froze, staring at Sasuke. The dark chakra vanished from the air, making me believe he had absorbed it. He barely took a glance at us before he took off.

"Sasuke!" Naruto and I shouted in unison. I clenched my teeth, looking from the white haired boy to Sasuke's retreating figure.

"Naruto-kun you go I'll handle this guy!" Naruto looked about ready to refuse my order, but after seeing my look he listened. 

Just as the boy was about to strike Naruto, I threw one of my marked kunai. Releasing the seal I appeared between them and quickly blocked my attack with my crystal. Naruto paused again, a look of worry flashed on his face as he saw me. "Go Naruto!" I shouted seeing him pause.

Following my orders he took off after Sasuke again.

"You're fast I'll give you that, but you still have so much to learn. Lord Orochimaru can teach you-" I cut him off throwing him back.

"Will you shut up! I don't want anything to do with that creep, nor do I want to talk about him!" I shouted forming the Rasengan in my hand as I charged at the boy.

He dodged out of the way, then pulled out his spine, which he used like a whip at me. The bone hit me sharper and harder than any blade.

I cried out as the bone went into my arm, he pulled it out of my arm calmly.

I formed another new set of hand signs for a jutsu I had taught myself not too long ago. "Crystal release- Gods crossing technique!" Needles made of crystal shot out of the ground as they headed for him. While they did hit him, he was quick to recover.

Melendy growled at him, looking at me from the corner of her eye. "M'lady please summon Scar."

I shook my head, "I can't." I glanced at her, reminding her of my current situation. Just doing what I had done I felt exhausted. However, there was another reason I wasn't going to summon a wolf. There was another chakra approaching fast, one that I was familiar with.

As I had anticipated, Lee jumped out of the tree. "I can handle it from here Yuki, you go help Naruto."

"Lee, are you sure?" I asked, only to get a look of determination as he got into his fighting stance.

"I am sure, Naruto needs your help."

I nodded in thanks, but as I went to run the white haired boy grabbed me, pulling out another bone he put it to my neck. I narrowed my eyes.

"I won't kill you, but Kabuto never told me I cannot harm you in order to capture you." He snarled pushing the tip of the sharp bone closer to me.

While he was distracted Lee took the advantage to strike. "Leaf hurricane!" The white haired boy was forced to let go of me, Melendy caught me as I staggered back, then she took off in search of Naruto and Sasuke.

On the way Melendy had managed to restore some chakra. We appeared at a waterfall with two huge statues.

"M'lady I don't have much chakra left, I have to leave. I'm sorry." Melendy said, once I nodded she poofed away. Staring at the empty space for a moment, I blinked and looked around for Naruto and Sasuke, their chakra signatures were around here.

When I got closer to the river I spotted them. Sasuke was looking down at a knocked out Naruto. My eyes widened as I ran for them.

Sasuke heard the patter of my feet and looked up at me. My emotions got the better of me, my eyes were burning as I tried to hold back sobs."D-don't tell me you did t-this Sasuke. Y-You're his- our friend a comrade, part of team-"

"No! I'm no longer part of team seven! I have broken my bonds with Naruto. I'll break my bonds with the village and you. I did do this to him." He glared at me, not one of his normal glares of annoyance, it was a one of pure hatred.

The tears escaped from my eyes, wetting my cheeks. I looked down at the ground, tears blurring my vision of my best friend on the ground. "I- I thought of you as a brother, Naruto did too. Y-You can't be doing this just to get stronger. If that was the reason j-just stay in the village, we can help you get stronger." I only looked up when I heard the familiar sounds of birds chirping. Although I was to late, as I felt electricity surge throughout my body.

My body jerked from the electricity, my eyes widening. "Sasuke," I paused as I said the first thing that came to my mind. "We w-wont stop looking for you, j-just know t-that." I trailed off as my body fell to the floor as Sasuke jerked his hand from my stomach, splattering my blood on the ground.

He looked down at me. "Don't. I need this, I want this. We no longer have any bonds, you and Naruto are nothing to me anymore." He walked off.

I felt myself slipping, with Melendy gone, there was no medic to heal Naruto or even me. The hole in my stomach stung and bled out as I felt darkness consume me.

Never in my life did I imagine that someone I thought of as a brother would betray me.

3rd person Pov

Shikamaru stood outside the operation room, waiting for his childhood friend Choji. The mission had been a failure, everyone except Shikamaru was very injured. Even his co-captain, Yuki, had been hit in the stomach with the Chidori, not to mention how exhausted she must have been from her low chakra.

'It was a good thing Lady Tsunade sent back up.' Shikamaru thought.

While Shikamaru waited for Choji's information, Temari sat beside him to keep him company. Gaara stood outside another room to hear anything about Yuki.

A medic nin walked out of the operation room. She looked up to see a red head boy with sea foam eyes and a sign for love on his forehead. His arms were crossed over his chest as he seemed to glare at the door, or rather her. She felt silly to think this twelve-year-old boy could send a shiver of discomfort down her spine, almost like his presence was overwhelming.

"How is she?" Gaara stated gruffly.

The female wiped sweat off her forehead but smiled. "She made it, just barely but she did." The red head nodded seeming to like the answer turned to sand and disappeared.

Shocked she rubbed her eyes, but dismissed it she had to report Yuki's status to Lady Tsunade, along with getting her a room.

Tsunade walked out of Choji's operation room. "Choji's going to be just fine." Shikamaru sighed in relief.

The blonde Hokage walked up to Shikamaru as she said harshly. "Shikamaru Nara, your mission was a failure." She paused seeing two of her more skilled medic ninja's run up to her.

"Yuki Okami is stable, she will survive she just needs to stay in the hospital for a little."

"Naruto Uzumaki's condition is severe, but he will live. He also is stable."

Tsunade turned back to Shikamaru and added in more softly. "But, everyone made it back alive that's all that matters."

Shikamaru looked down, doubt filled him. 'Am I really ready for this?'

Naruto woke up after being treated and given a room, finding himself all bandaged. Beside him in another bed was none other than his best friend Yuki.

She was passed out from what Naruto saw she too had bandages, mostly on her stomach, arms and back. Naruto wondered what happened to have her injured so badly, or rather who injured her so badly.

Naruto was soon interrupted from his thoughts from the door opening, only for him to see his late crush, Sakura. While they talked they didn't seem to notice Yuki had woken up, until they heard the door slide open.

End of Chapter 32! I hope you guys liked it. So the story is going to be finishing up soon, I'm going to be writing two or so more missions then its time for Shippuden.
