CHAPTER 3
"My sister and I would like to offer you a ride, milady." He said, then proceeded to give me a charming smile.
Contrary to popular opinion, I however was not pleased. Did I look like I was in need of help? If he thought he could mock me by coming up to me and playing the knight in shining armor, then he would soon find out he was dreadfully wrong. Plastering on a charming smile on my ruby red lips, i lifted up my chin.
" I find your attitude quite obnoxious, milord." I said raising a brow carefully plucked to perfection.
I watched in satisfaction, as his perfect smile slipped from his perfect lips, and brows quirked, as if daring me to repeat my self.
"I fear I find your statement quite confusing my lady." He told me. All traces of amusement wiped clean from his face.
"As I find your attitude myself, this is quite a conundrum my lord." I repeated with pride.
"A conundrum? listen here, i fear you might have misunderstood my intentions milady." He told me, stealing quick glances at the three carriages that dared to come close.
Various carriages had stopped by now, most of them carrying students of E.C.S. And I was not pleased by this sudden popularity surge.
I watched as the carriage doors opened, and one of the most lovely ladies I had ever seen, was helped out. She had amusement written all over her delicate features. I studied her as she placed a restraining arm on the young man's arm, and gave him a chiding look.
"Ian, apologize to the lady at once." She said softly. And I found myself watching the wind, hoping it would not blow too strong for that was how delicate she seemed.
"Apologize?!" The young man called Ian, whose named seemed familiar for some reason cried. "Whatever for?!"
"Compose yourself, what has gotten into you?" She asked him surprised. And I decided it was time to interrupt.
"The solution to this problem is quite simple really." I told them.
"He goes his way, and I go mine." I said and watched as his mouth dropped open in outrage.
I turned on my heel, and walked away. Satisfied I got the last word, and satisfied he was watching me leave with ire burning in his startling green eyes, for a reason I totally ignored.
I could see people gawking at me, and I knew it was not because of my startling good looks. I hurried along, wishing for a carriage to shelter me from their piercing gazes.
I was startled when I felt the familiar vibration from my bracelet, and knew my god mother wanted to talk.
I hurried to the back of an empty store and yanked at my bracelet, watching as she shimmered to view.
"Good morning Miss Clara." I beamed.
She shook her head at me in amusement.
"Did you really have to be so prickly in the morning?" She asked me.
"I don't understand it as well, something about him sparked my ire." I told her, using one gloved hand to stroke my delicate chin. She gave me a mysterious laugh.
"All in good time my dear, somethings must play its due course for your future to unfold I suppose." I gave her a perplexed look.
"Do not even expect me to understand, i gave up on that years ago." I told her with a blank stare.
She simply laughed some more. " Oh my dear, how fun your life shall be from now on. Full of friends, adventures, and perhaps romance." She told me, and for some reason my mind flashed to his green eyes. I looked at her making sure my irritation showed.
"But you shall brave it all my dear girl." With a pat on my perfect hair, she bustled into a series of fairy activity, and conjured me a rather plain looking coach. At my pointed look she rolled her eyes with a fond smile.
"I really do not know why I put up with you to be honest."
"Cause I happen to meet all the fairy god mother requirements, and you also happen to adore me?" I asked her with a cheeky smile.
"Oh get in you, and no more stir on your first day." She warned me with a stern look on her face.
Offended that she could think such a thing of me, i moved closer and held her hands.
"I am the pinnacle of perfection, the princesses could and should be molded after my perfect image." I told her quite seriously.
She gave me a long look, then a sigh, and patted my hands.
"The most disturbing thing is that you are quite serious." She said with a longer sigh this time.
"Why ever not?" I asked quite seriously.
"Oh dear, you cannot be late on your first day, hop in. We shall however, have a long discussion about your illusions of grandeur later." She said with a pointed look, practically shoving me into the carriage, where I landed quite roughly on my rump with a huff.
Conjuring me a coach man, she patted the horses behind and sent me on my way.
"Thank you." I whispered. She might not have being with me at the moment, but I knew she heard every word.
The horses were fast, thanks to them I just made it before the great doors closed.
A foot man was waiting to take the reins of my horses, with a nod to Garth my coach man, I hurried inside where another stiffly dressed mistress was waiting to take me to the grounds.
After enduring her inspection of my being, she finally nodded her approval of my of course perfect appearance.
Although it was a rocky start, I would not let it affect my day, as long as I did not have to see that pompous bastard again.
