Ticking Time Bomb
Continuing from the last chapter*
Wednesday night at "The Sharps"*
Becky was still on part time champion schedule with her going through everything with Travis and having the kids most of the time.
With her being the champion on the red side, the company really wanted to build a storyline with an upcoming talent who had a following from NXT.
But it's hard for them to do something with her since she's only on the road for tapings for live shows or pay per views.
With Becky*
She was now walking back down from the second floor of her and Travis's house, she had just put Alexis to bed.
Both kids have kept her mind at peace by always distracting her with the littlest things they would do.
With that happening, there was a new bond forming between the mother and her two babies.
Alexis will not leave Becky's side whenever she's home, and Jackson can't go a minute without seeing her.
Becky came to realize that even though her and her husband are going through some stuff, it's best to keep a positive mindset for her kids since they need her more than ever.
In the living room*
She turned off the kitchen light and walked into the only light room which was the family room. The tv was on showing one of her shows which was crime and mystery.
It was on for backround music as she was alerted by an email coming in from her and Travis's manager.
Kylie: Hey Rebecca. Some backstage production and one of Hunter's team noticed something. Check out Travis's Instagram will you? The followers? I can't get ahold of him so you were the next in line to be able to get ahold of him. Get back to me when you can, thanks.
This was a surprising message to come back to since she has no backstory, nothing to look out for.
Becky then grabbed her phone, scrolled to Instagram and opened the app. The first photo was the one she posted not ten minutes ago of Alexis and Jackson laying down and watching a kids movie earlier in the day, and it was doing well.
The photo had over fifty thousand likes in the matter of minutes since the world doesnt see much of her and Travis's kids on social media. Whenever they do though, the post will blow up with love.
She then searched her husband's name and saw he had a recent post. Since she always wanted to know what was on his mind, she had post notifications on for all his accounts and he does the same for her.
But when she clicked the photo and tried to look through it, it was a bit confusing for her.
@tsharpwwe
"I'm always watching the product"
There was no tags towards a company or person, no hash tags, nothing.
It did show the location "Bankers Life Fieldhouse"
The comments were turned off for this photo which made the investigating much more difficult. But Becky then looked through the likes and saw multiple verified accounts have liked the photo.
Four accounts were in the same business as her, but not in the same company.
She then looked further more and scrolled though his followers. No change since she couldn't scroll through the four million that already is following him.
Becky's investigation had come to conclusion with nothing.
Becky: Hey Kylie. I'm not really sure what we're trying to look for, it's just another cryptic message to build his character. Keep me updated on what everyone is talking about because I haven't had a clue.
She sent that message back and unpaused her show as she was having a small bowl of ice cream with it.
Kilo wasn't near her tonight as he was outside both kids rooms, sleeping in the hallway.
Becky has started to notice that Kilo's personality is getting back to when he was a puppy. Just a energy filled bomb ready to blow up than the depression hunter he was when Travis first left. His training had come in handy when it was just Becky there by herself.
She didn't hear anything else from their manager a couple minutes later, so she finished up her late night treat, shut everything down in the house and went to bed.
With Travis*
Indianapolis*
Clock just hit midnight and he was back at his hotel with someone. The two were down in the hotel bar enjoying a drink and laughing.
Travis: I remember back in NXT. Dusty had you tag along to a promo class where we just shot bullets back and forth to each other.
Cody: You insulted Stardust. You crossed that path of no return.
Travis: Oh I know, trust me I know.
They both started to laugh and take another sip of their respected drinks. Travis was enjoying his time with meeting up with his old friends while Cody had one question on his mind.
Cody: So, tonight. How was it?
Travis: Man, I felt alive.
Cody: -
Travis: I can tell you this with a smile on my face. Cody, my man; I loved it.
The American Nightmare smiled as Travis continued to what he was saying about the night at AEW.
Travis: Meeting up with old friends, meeting new ones while shaking hands with Tony fucking Kahn? That dude knows his wrestling.
Cody: He's such a mark.
Travis: laughs* But I really did enjoy myself.
Cody: Well I'm glad.
They paused as he said one more thing to end the night on.
Cody: Like we've talked about. Keep me updated on what happens coming up and we'll talk about moving forward. Travis, I think you'd fit in well.
Travis: Thanks brotha.
Both smiled and clinged their glasses together and finisher the drinks. Travis then tried to pay for it but Cody grabbed the bill.
They both then said their goodbyes and Travis went back to his room.
He was sitting on the side of his bed happy, he was finally happy for once. There was no stress weighing him down when it comes to wrestling.
Something was holding him back from telling somebody, but knowing the backlash and legal issues that could cause; he didn't want that on his shoulders.
Travis then laid down and fell asleep, never looking at his phone for the whole night.
Little recap through the week*
Travis flew back to Florida on Thursday morning, he walked into Katie's house earlier in the afternoon and was greeted by no one.
His sister and little nephew were gone out of the state for a little event that she always takes him to, so he was now home alone for the rest of the week.
With his suspension lifted, Travis was greeted by a ton of emails asking and requesting for his feedback on certain appearances to events that are asking for him.
He had no time to respond since they're already looking into the future and past Wrestlemania, now Travis is as well but not with this company.
No emails ever got a response since Travis felt like there was no point in wasting his time on them.
Instead he continued to workout with his new diet and get ready for his short return.
Also throughout the week, he and Becky would facetime so he could pop in and say his hellos to the kids.
As much as Alexis wanted him back home, and seeing Jacksons smiling face; Travis knew it may be a while before he returns to the house.
Everytime he hung up, he died a little inside. One time really got him when he could overhear his little girl say "noo!" as he hung up.
It broke his heart since him and Alexis's bond was unbreakable, but now he doesn't see her that much so it's starting to thin.
He was determined to change that soon since he's a father.
Onto Monday morning*
Today was a normal Monday for Becky, she was flying to the show tonight.
Since it's over a four hour flight, she had to get up pretty early.
05:29am*
An alarm went off a couple seconds later as Becky quickly jolted her head while sleeping on Travis's side.
She's been on that side of the bed since he left. The smell of his cologne was gone, but she still somehow could feel something.
It didn't take her long to reach over and turn off the annoying beeping sound. She then laid there for a second before turning on the light next to her, that then showed the family photo sitting on the table next to her.
The most recent picture they all took back at Travis's hometown with his family, everyone was wearing nice clothes and they were out in the woods. Just Travis holding Alexis while Becky is next to him holding Jackson.
Everytime she looks at this photo in the morning, it makes her remember the good times; When everything was normal.
20 minutes later*
She was showered and packed as she locked the front door and left the spare key for the dog walker in the hidden place.
Becky then walked to her car and was off to the airport.
No kids this morning as her sister in law, Katie took them off her hands so she wouldnt have to wake up earlier to take them to her house.
Now with Travis*
It's now been close to two months since Travis packed his things and went to his sister's house and took over the spare bedroom.
Now for today on his agenda, Travis is waking up a little early to head to the show tonight.
This would be his return to the company since he was suspended for his arrest. It was perfect since this was the return to RAW and it was in his hometown, Boston.
Alarm*
The normal alarm that would wake him for flights came back into his life as the clock went off around six in the morning.
It was blasting in the small spare bedroom, which woke Travis up pretty quickly.
He opened his eyes, looked around and heard giggling outside his bedroom door. Even though it was six in the morning, that's the "Sharp" children wild hours.
Travis had a great weekend with the kids, he felt that bond between the both of them again; and it got even better.
As he laid there, Travis watched the for door open just a little with more giggling.
Staying still, he watched as Alexis peeked her head in and caught her dads eyes open.
Alexis: He's awake!
She then pushed the door open completely as it showed Jackson standing behind her.
His sister was the mastermind behind them waking him up so she left the kids in the hallway to do so while she made breakfast.
Alexis jumped onto the bed and started to jump near Travis.
Alexis: Wake. Up!
Travis: No!
Alexis: Yes! Wake up!
Travis: No! You can't make me!
He was playing around as she got a big leap and jumped on her dad. Travis then started to hide a little until he saw little baby hands lay ontop of the bed.
Travis: Alright, come here buddy.
The dad leaned over the side, picked up his son and brought him onto the bed.
Travis: Good morning you two.
Jackson: Dada!
He then laid his hand on his face and got up, walking around the bed until he eventually fell onto Travis's face.
Alexis laughed, then another laugh came from the hallway. That made Travis look up.
Katie: laughs* I see dad mode is in full swing.
Travis: Best alarm clocks I have.
Katie: laughs again* Well, I came by to say breakfast is ready.
She walked back to the kitchen as Travis was now moving around more, helped both down off the bed and followed them out.
Alexis was running down the hall as Travis slowly followed his almost two year old down the hallway until he was eventually scooped up by his dad.
Travis then carried him to his highchair, sat in between him and his daughter while sitting across Katie and his nephew.
Katie: Wow, everyone's awake all at once.
Travis: I gotta hurry and get ready after this.
Katie: When's your flight?
Travis: Nine, but knowing the traffic I'll have to leave before seven.
They all continued to eat in peace and quiet until Katie brought someone up.
Katie: So Becks is meeting you up there?
Alexis: Mommy!?
Jackson: Muma.
Travis: Relax you two *laughs*. And I don't think so, I believe she'll already be there getting ready for the show.
Katie: What are you doing then?
Travis: All I know is I'm not wrestling so who knows.
He gestured his feelings with the fork and continued to eat as everyone was watching him rush a little.
When he was finished, he helped his children get cleaned up and sat them in the living room to watch their morning program. This gave him time to go shower and pack the little essentials.
20 minutes later*
Travis walked out of his bedroom with a backpack as he's only taking a carryon today. Since he's not actually wrestling, he doesn't need his gear bag. Since he'll also be flying back after the show, he doesn't need a bag for extra clothes.
Both of his children looked at him as he walked back into the living room and kissed both of their heads and said his goodbyes.
Fast forward to that night*
Boston, Massachusetts. TD Garden*
The venue was now two hours until the empty seats are filled with excited wrestling fans, and they have no idea what's in store for tonight.
Travis was now sitting in his and Becky's shared locker room. Her stuff was in there but she was out, finishing up her hair and makeup for the show.
He patiently waited as Hunter notified him that he would be pulled into a meeting sometime later that evening.
It's been over three hours since he told him and Travis was now getting impatient.
While scrolling through his phone, a knock at the door was overheard. He stood up, walked over and opened it to see Hunter himself standing there.
Hunter: Travis! Welcome back! You ready?
Travis: Let's go.
He left his keys to his rental car in, walked out of his locker room and followed Hunter down the hallway.
Silence. No words were exchanged between each other as they made it to Vince's office.
Both men walked straight in and the door closed behind them.
The head man himself, Vince McMahon turned around in his chair and sae Travis standing there with his right hand man.
Vince: Travis! So good to see you.
Travis: Sure.
Vince: Sit. Let's talk.
He pointed to a chair and Travis sat down, Hunter then walked around the desk and he said one word that already had Travis on edge.
Vince: So, your contract-
Travis: Stop *holds hand up*
Vince: -
Travis: I'm not here to discuss that kind of business.
Vince: But we want to resign you. Make you the face of the company accompanying Becky.
Travis: Nah, that's not how this works. I came here to ride out the rest of my contract. I'm sure Hunter told you my final answer.
Vince: He did. But let me show you a proposal.
The CEO of WWE then pulled out a sheet of paper, slid it over in front of his talent with a smile.
Vince: How does four million a year, five year contract. Two million signing bonus.
He adjusted his eyebrows to show Travis he was serious, but he still wasn't buying it.
Travis: Why would I want to get paid an absurd amount of money to stay somewhere that I hate coming to?
Vince: Watch it now.
Travis: I'm serious. I hate flying here to become a complete joke.
Vince: We'll, you are married. You have kids, you have to be supportive.
Travis: Chuckles* You're kidding me, right?
That then confused both heads of the company.
Travis: I could do anything else besides work for this depressing company and still put food on the table. No matter where else I will go, I will always put my family before myself.
Vince: I see.
He knew that Vince and the WWE are scared of losing talent to companies that are popping up and picking up anyone. AEW really scared them so the company is giving people raises and extending their contracts.
He's not about to become one of the sellouts that stay here.
Travis: stands up*
Just before either men could respond Travis walked out the door and wend back to his locker room.
Some texts were coming in from Hunters assistance requesting for another meeting, they all were ignored.
RAW Starts*
Travis continued to sit backstage in his locker room and watched the opening card, it was his wife Becky going up against Peyton Royce with Billie Kay in her corner.
But the match was cut short by a upcoming RAW superstar Shayna Baszler rushing out and putting Becky in her submission.
This would then be building a rivalry between the two power houses.
Now this was perfect timing for Travis to dip out of the locker room since his wife was on her way back.
He would then be somewhere else until his segment starts.
Final segment of the night*
Everyone was advertised that Bray Wyatt's "Firefly Funhouse" would be airing at the end, with a surprise twist.
Travis is waiting in gorilla*
Firefly Funhouse theme hits*
The crowd cheered as they all saw the titantron pop on with Bray in his red sweater.
He was going to hype up debuting a new plush puppet in his collection, a hometown hero.
Bray: I know that Wrestlemania is coming up in five weeks, and I still haven't heard anything from mister Sharp.
The Boston crowd cheered for the last name which gave Travis goosebumps.
Bray: Well, I'm excited to say this. I have talked to Travis himself. And a matter of fact, he's here! Please, let me introduce Travis Sharp!
Backstage, Travis expected them to hit his theme song but when he looked at the little monitor, he smiled.
There stood Bray, and a puppet that was made to look like Travis, little shirt and jacket to match. Same matching sleeve tattoo and he was impressed.
Bray: So Travis, are you excited to play at Wrestlemania!?
Puppet Travis: *groans* I can't wait Bray! I can't wait to become the Universal Champion for the third time in my career.
Bray: ha ha, you're a funny guy Travis. But you can't take my toy away from me.
Everyone watched as Bray threw Travis's puppet across the screen
Bray: Travis. Come back, let's talk. I don't want to show my dark side to get you to talk.
The monitor then glitched and showed his alter ego "The Fiend", back and forth until it showed him smiling.
Bray: I'll tell you what. Give me an answer by Wrestlemania and I'll let you pick the stimulation of the match. Sound fair?
That was his cue, Travis's music hit and he walked out of the curtain and stood at the ramp as the crowd was cheering loud for the returning hometown man.
He had a microphone in his hand and a smile on his face. The cameras saw him look around the whole arena before giving his answer.
Travis: Let's go Bray.
He then dropped the microphone and stared at the titantron as Bray smiled, looked deep into the hard camera and that one innocent smile went away.
It showed The Fiend once more before the show ended.
Travis waved to his city and walked to the back.
Ten minutes later*
Travis was finished with the only interview he was willing to do. Cathy Kelly kept his little segment backstage short and quick before leaving.
He then walked back into his locker room as Becky was sitting down, putting on a sweatshirt and her shoes.
She shot her head up, moved her hair out of the way and saw her husband.
Becky: Welcome back Trav!
Travis: Yeah.. yeah.
Becky: So, how've you been?
He was surprised she was talking to him normally since their last marriage counseling session ended a little heated.
She clearly moved on from that though and asked him the question.
Travis: I've been good. The weekend with the kids have helped alot.
Becky: That's good.
She smiled at him as he was grabbing his bag, then overheard the same thing she asks him.
Becky: Trav, can we talk?
Travis: You ask that everytime we see each other back here.
Becky: Well, where else am I going to ask you? You're not home.
Travis: Ok, ok.
He gave up, set his bag back down and decided to sit next to her.
Becky: I've been thinking, alot.
Travis: Just coming out and saying it, are we?
Becky: I'm serious. I've been thinking and researching. Would you want to come over sometime for dinner?
She was asking him to a little date, and that wasn't on his radar at the moment during their situation.
Travis: Becks. We haven't made any progress.
Becky: Yes we have.
Travis: Ok, like what?
Becky: Looks down* You are talking to me again.
That was a little awkward, silent moment. She got him, that was a fair point but that's not good enough.
Travis: We're only two sessions into.. who knows how many into marriage counseling.
Becky: -
Travis: I feel like you're pushing it a little fast.
Becky: Woah, me? I'm trying to talk to my husband. I asked you to come over to dinner and we can talk. You know we can talk to each other without Amy, right?
Travis: I do, but when we talk just a little bit. I mean a little bit. It comes back to someone saying the three words.
Becky: Wow, I'm sorry for loving my husband.
She was getting fed up and he knew if he continued then it could start an argument. So he left it there, grabbed his bag and was ready to walk out.
Something else was said that made him stop for a second.
Becky: Ah, ok. Well, see ya.
Travis: Yeah. Later.
He then opened the locker room door, closed it and walked back towards his rental car.
