This Feels Like Home
Tuesday. The day after disaster*
When Travis boarded his flight, he was doing nothing but texting back and forth with one of biggest names on the indies scene.
He landed back in Tampa with a plan set in stone, but before any of that can happen he has one thing to do.
Tuesday also ment that it was the second session with the therapist and his wife. After the first one he had no idea what could or would happen in that room when they let the two talk.
With the introduction to therapy quickly turning hostile just in the first appearance, and with the way his life is now; Travis is almost ready for anything to be thrown at him since he has a few sins under his belt.
Tuesday Morning*
Katie's house*
Travis landed late last night after the show ended, he walked into his sister's house around three in the morning and was prepared to sleep into the afternoon tomorrow.
A phone conversation was still being shot back and forth the whole way home from airplane to car, but it eventually ended when plans were made for Wednesday.
He was finally back in his bedroom and fell asleep excited.
Alarm*
Being quickly woken up by the loud beeping sound, then the second alarm on his phone going off made him sit up.
He turned them both off and just sat there as his body was still waking up. While that was going on, sounds from outside of his bedroom.
Little pitter patter were running down the halls until he had to know what was going on.
Travis sat up, slipped on some clothes and walked up to his door which still had little feet going by it.
The clock just hit eight in the morning and the house was already running wild.
When he opened the door, a little brunette ran by and then quickly stopped while turning around.
Alexis: Daddy!!
Travis: What are you doing here??
She ran back to him and he bent down to hug her, then they unlocked she ran back while he followed her until he saw his sister making breakfast.
Katie: Morning Trav.
Travis: Morning. What are the kids doing here?
As he said that, his nephew and daughter ran by back through the halls once again.
Katie: Becks called me this morning and asked if I could take them off her hands while she went out for a few errands. Then I'm going to keep them while you two go to your appointment later this morning.
What she was talking about was the second session of their couple therapy. Today's session is still getting to know each other, what made the arguments and continue with their story.
This was just a refresher for when they're able to dig deep into the problem and fix whatever they need to.
Travis sat down at the counter next to Jackson who was in his high chair, bananas in front of him and a big smile for when he saw his dad.
A smile was on Travis's face as he was reminded everytime what Becky said.
"Are you avoiding Jackson? Are you avoiding your own son over this?"
That made him realise that she was right, he was avoiding him over this situation. He was determined to make that question seem pointless for now on.
Travis: Morning my little man.
Jackson: Big smile*
Katie: Someone's happy to see you Trav.
Travis: Always gives me goosebumps.
He was now helping feed his son while his sister started a little conversation and finishing up a big breakfast.
No one knows what went down last night between Travis and the company, nor does anyone know about what happened after.
The plan was to wait to tell everyone after it's all set, otherwise why start drama when nothing happens.
A couple minutes later*
Travis was finished eating and also helped clean up Jackson before leaving them with their aunt while he showered.
As he walked into the bathroom, Katie heard his phone buzzing on the counter. She stopped the dishes and quickly looked over to see the screen pop up with a photo of Becky holding both kids and the name "Becky❤" above it.
She thought it was sweet that he never became immature about the cheating and change her name.
It wasn't right to answer it even though it's her sister in law, she let it ring and go to voicemail.
Clearly it wasn't anything important since a voicemail or text didn't follow. It was probably her checking up on the kids, and she was correct when she got a text asking.
An hour later*
It was almost time for Travis to leave for his appointment with Becky here soon, but he was enjoying his time with the kids.
He was outside in the back holding Jackson while Alexis and Benjamin were swinging in front of them.
Perfect weather to make it a perfect day so far.
Katie walked out with drinks for the little one and to take over for Travis. She sat down next to him and wanted him to know something.
Travis: still holding Jackson*
Katie: Trav, I know I've told you this a thousand times. But I'm glad that you're trying to work this out with Becky.
Travis: Mhm.
Katie: I remember just a month ago you were such an ass.
Travis: You have to put yourself into the situation I was in, what would've you done?
Katie: We've been over this, I have.
It was then silent until she had one more thing to ask.
Katie: I remember you used to tell me everything when we were kids and growing up. You never told me why you called it off?
Travis: -
Katie: It's not something that someone does out of the blue. Why Trav?
There was no way he was going to tell his sister what happened and the real reason, so he looked at his phone and changed the subject.
Travis: Oh, I gotta go. It's ten o'clock.
Katie: Oh ok. Here.
She took her nephew from her brother and watched him stand up.
Travis: wipes off his shirt* How long are they here to?
Katie: I believe until tonight. Becky said her and Ashley are having a girls day after so I said they could stay longer.
Travis: Alright, cool. I should be back in an hour or so.
Katie: Be careful, be nice.
He rolled his eyes and said his goodbyes to everyone before walking through the house and out to the garage.
It would be a bit of a drive since the facility is in the heart of Tampa.
Thirty seven minutes later*
It felt like deja vu for Travis as he pulled into the parking lot, empty once again with only one car parked.
Becky's Range Rover was about in the same spot as last time, and Travis drove over and backed into a spot next to her. She was dressed in some nice clothes with her hair and makeup done.
Little surprise to Travis since he had no idea what her and Charlotte are doing after. He never thought of Charlotte possibly leaking the news of that night to her best friend.
Travis jumps out*
He got out of his truck and walked around to meet up with his wife, who was all smiles to see him.
To her, everytime Travis is in front of her; its almost like they just met.
Travis: Well, we're a little early.
Becky: That's alright. It seems like they're not busy anyways.
She pointed around to the empty parking lot which made Travis laugh a little.
They both then walked to the front and went inside to check in.
Becky sat down and Travis joined her sometime after.
Just before the therapist could come in and bring the couple inside, she had one question for her husband.
Becky: So, how are the kids?
Travis: They are good. Burning all their energy with Ben.
Becky: laughs* Good news to me. They'll be out cold tonight.
He chuckled and brought up one thing.
Travis: They surprised me. I woke up and heard laughter with little feet running around.
Becky: listening*
Travis: I open the door and there was Alexis.
Becky: smiles* I'm so glad Katie was willing to take them for a while. I had so many errands to do today and I didn't want them to be brought around all of Tampa while I was doing them.
Travis: I don't blame ya. I can tell you that Alexis wouldve been bored the whole time since Jackson wouldve been asleep.
That made her laugh some more until the door next to them opened and Amy popped her head out.
Amy: Travis, Becky? You ready?
Travis: Yep.
He stood up and let Becky in first before following her inside while the door closed.
Everyone is now sitting in the room*
Amy opened her laptop and started to read on what happened last time.
Travis and Becky sat silently as they watched the therapist get ready before speaking.
Amy: Ok, welcome back. Alot of couples don't make it this far.
That was a bit weird of a stat to tell the Sharps but it felt like a little victory on Becky's mind.
Amy: Last time was the introduction to therapy and we got pretty deep into the problems. Let's go back to your life story with each other before we get back into the problems.
Travis: looks at Becky*
Becky: You can start.
Travis: Ok.
He got a little more comfortable in his chair as he's going to continue their love story.
Travis: Last week I remember hearing we were at the part where our daughter was born?
Amy: Correct, you and Becky said that's when the arguments started.
Travis: I see. I actually believe they started before. Becky was around two or three months pregnant, and we finally got back together after a three day break from an argument.
Becky: listening carefully*
Travis: I remember that night. I went back and made it up to her. Just before I could go grab my bags from my buddies house, I was in a horrible wreck.
It was all coming back to Becky, she now remembers that night like it happened yesterday.
Travis: I was in the hospital for a couple days, got discharged and was home for some time. Becky and I were with each other for that whole time and tensions did get pretty high when I started to become depressed.
This was news to Becky as she had no idea that he was in that state of mind.
Travis: I became unmotivated, never wanted to get heathly. I didn't help myself and I could see that took a toll on her.
He pointed at her as this was already becoming an emotional rollercoaster for Becky.
Travis: When I did get better is when i returned to work shortly after Alexis was born. With work and a new family back home who knows how many miles away they were.
Amy: So, I know you two are wrestler's. How far would you two be?
Travis: It depends. Could be just an hour away or ten. It all depended on the schedule for that month and which side of the states we were in.
Becky: I remember this. Alexis was born and the tour for our lives shows just started back up. They tried to get Travis to go overseas to Europe Europe that tour.
Amy: Did you do it?
Travis: Of course not. That's when I put more time in and was out for a month and skipped it.
Amy: Did that stop the arguments?
Becky: It did.
Travis: For a little bit.
Amy: Then what happened?
Travis: That's when you were able to go back to work.
He pointed back at Becky and let her take over of this part.
Becky: After three months on maternity leave post Alexis, they called me and had me come in to discuss my return to work. When that happened, we would always fight about bringing her.
Travis: You can't be serious though. She is three months old and you wanted to take her on the plane with us.
Becky: She was fine.
Amy: Ok, ok. Relax.
Becky: I just wanted us to be a family where ever we went.
The room got quiet as that shot down Travis to continue his case.
Amy: Alright. From my understanding is that Becky felt it was perfectly fine and you, Travis weren't ok with it.
Travis: That's how I felt. Maybe she could've stayed home longer. I could've stayed home longer.
Amy: Don't put this on yourself. It sounds like you both wanted two different things for your daughter.
They both were silent as she brought up another point.
Amy: What happened when your son was born? Was it the same reaction?
Becky: We were more calm about taking him places until he was ready.
Amy: Were you all home at this point?
Becky: looks at Travis* No.
She crossed her leg and wouldn't stop looking at him.
Travis: noticed how frustrated she was* You can't blame this on me, I had a big part in the company.
Amy: Let's talk about that.
She grabbed her pen and paper, ready to write away.
Travis: A few years ago, I sustained a injury that forced me to retire. I was then offered a high position in the company we work for and took it.
Becky: That then made him on the road longer.
Travis: Not true. I was home more during this time. When Becky then became pregnant with Jackson, I was only gone Monday's.
Amy: How did this make you feel Becky?
Becky: Horrible. As much as I wanted him home incase something happened. We still had a little girl at home while I was exhausted.
Amy: Oh, I know that feeling.
She continued to write as the session continued with them talking about the kids and their issues revolving around them at the time.
An hour later*
Travis and Becky walked out of the building a little heated. Today's session didn't go the way he thought it would, if mostly focused on why the arguments started when they became parents to both children.
Unlike last weeks meeting, when it ended Becky went straight to her car without saying anything to her husband.
He stood outside of his truck and watched her leave with a straight face.
It didn't surprise him that she was visibly upset, but he went back to Katie's with a smile on his face since the kids were still there.
Fast forward to Wednesday night*
Indianapolis*
Travis gotten up a little later into the day since he had a plane to catch later. Today was a secret flight to Indiana to meet with some other people in the industry.
No one is supposed to know inside of WWE. No one in the locker room, production, or even some of his friends can't know.
What's worse is Becky and Katie are also in that section where they cannot know.
When he got up and packed for his flight, he told his sister that today was for "Media" since he was coming back to the company.
Katie bought it and watched her brother off to the airport.
At Banker's Life Fieldhouse*
Travis walked in with nothing but the clothes he's wearing. There stood the face of WWE inside an arena that's hosting one of the newest companies to debut on live television.
He walked up to the check in station for talent and there stood a representative for AEW with a clipboard.
Woman: Hello, how can I help you?
Travis: Name is Travis Sharp. Here as a visitor.
Woman: Let's see, Travis Shar- ope, here you are. Ok, let me call you in and we'll get you situated.
He stood at the window as the woman got on he radio and called someone. She the asked for his right arm and put a band around it that said "Backstage Talent".
Already the atmosphere to this arena with the company is giving him good vibes.
5 minutes later*
Travis saw a golf cart roll up and pull to the gate. There stood a man dressed up in a full suit and walking towards his friend with a smile.
Cody: Travis! You made it man!
Travis: Thank you so much, I'm excited to be here.
Cody: Alright, jump on. Let's go around and see who we can find.
Travis didn't hesitate as he walked through the gate and joined Cody Rhodes in the cart as they drove into the arena.
While going around the arena, Travis met people such as Hangman Page and The Young Bucks. They have battled Travis way before he made it to WWE, mostly back when he was signed to Ring of Honor.
Later that night*
Since Travis couldn't be spotted backstage and didn't want leaks out, they set him up in his own room with people from AEW showing him the ropes and just having fun.
It was now the main event, a newly debuted Lance Archer versus Jon Moxley.
One of his best friends Moxley was the champion in the company and was scheduled for a quick disqualification match to build for the pay per view next week.
The match started, but Travis was interrupted by someone walking into the people filled room.
Cody: There's Tyson! Travis, meet Tyson.
Travis: It's great to finally meet you man.
Kenny: Same to you man.
Cody: Two of the biggest names on the wrestling scene in the same room. I love it.
They all had great conversations about the industry in their eyes, the culture and fans.
Most of the time was talking about his time with the WWE and how he's not enjoying it.
No talk of contracts were discussed during the whole time, just everyone getting to know Travis.
This was starting to feel like home to Travis.
To be continued..
