Questions.
Where we last saw the couple*
Travis was back home to help Becky with a now healthy and healing Alexis, as well as a little Jackson still needing all the attention he can get. Kilo was still as hyper as can be but understood that there was light duty going on, so he's chilled out a little around the kids.
Now with Becky. In the bedroom after coming home*
Becky shut the door after saying her good nights to her husband, who was downstairs sleeping on the couch with mans best friend. The thought of him being back in the house has her mind in a good place, and she's starting to see their relationship strengthened much more.
After everything they've been through the last couple months of both showing unfaithfulness, it's hard to grow back to what you had. She can see that it's growing into something else. A new kind of love.
She strips down and lays in their bed, and it still feels empty. Yes, Travis is finally back home and everything but she's still feeling alone.
Rolling over to his side, she grabs his pillow which still had his cologne sent and fell asleep.
Downstairs*
Travis has now gotten somewhat comfortable on the couch and Kilo comes slowly walking in from the shadows after a late night drink.
Travis: Come here, pal.
He patted his lap as the sixty five pound German Shepherd jumped up and got himself comfortable as well. Travis laid as Kilo put his head on his chest and got some pettings.
Travis's mind was all over the place, but not in a negative way. Everything he sees that he can with the moons light hitting it, brings back all the good memories of this house that him and his wife have built a life in, a family, a love life.
His mind was thrown back in time where everywhere he looked was like a out of body experience where a film was rolling of what was going on there.
Like on one of the chairs in the living room showed him sitting down with Becky right next to him, curled up on the arm rest while little Alexis and Jackson sat on his lap, reading a bedtime story.
He'd then look over to by the fire place where Christmas stockings hung and full of goodies where the kids and Kilo sat down, unpacking everything packed inside.
Then came a memory of Travis and Becky, blanket laid out in front of the fire place, wine and champagne in glasses, fruit and cheese next to them as it was getting intimate.
Quickly shaking his head to stop as he knew what was going to happen next. Not a bad memory, matter of fact if it wasn't for that night then Alexis wouldn't have ever been there. It's just too many things popping up in his head and had to put a stop to something.
Kilo was fast asleep as the neck scratches made him lose that fight quickly.
Travis soon followed his furry friend and fell asleep as well, with a mind full of love and confusion.
Back upstairs*
Becky just fell asleep and was immediately dreaming good, about how life is getting back to where it should be.
Dreams sparked of her and her husband. Getting right into it. First there they were, sitting in the back. Her on his lap and his arms around her. Kids in bed, dog next to them as a fire started and the stars above.
No words were being said, just embracing the moment with each other.
She lifted her head and he looked deep into her eyes, while they slowly closed in on each other. But just before it was going to end like she'd hope. Boom, wakes up.
Jackson's baby monitor going off*
The monitor wasn't going off like when he was little, but she could hear him whine a little.
Uncovering herself and just walking straight out of the bedroom, heading down the hall a little to his room. When she turned in, she could see somewhat of Travis already beating her there, picking Jackson out of his crib and shushing him slowly in his arms.
Jackson's room is filled with a dim light from his nightlight in the corner, where Travis turned around and could see Becky standing in the doorway.
Travis smiled and saw Becky mouth "Thank you" as she slowly walked back into their bedroom and back to sleep. Dad mode kicked back in.
Fast forward a few days later*
The same thing was happening at the house. Travis was there to make sure Alexis was still being strong during recovery, while also still bumming the couch.
It was a relief to be home and a quote "family" again, but something still felt off. Him and Becky were kinda shy to each other and awkward, but that might've been from no showing love and affection towards each other in some time. Travis knew to himself it'll take work but eventually come back.
Now back to this weeks program, with WWE in Tampa tonight for Smackdown. Travis was scheduled for RAW and they don't have brand jumps, but it seems they're breaking away from it.
With this, WWE is now also under new management with Triple H covering all of creative and Stephanie working the books.
Fans have noticed a change in the format of shows and it's for the good. Mostly positive things are said about the company now after a few years of backlash.
Now with Travis's mentor being head of creative, it's going to be hard to try and weasel himself out of a new contract because he knows Hunter will do everything in his power and ability to keep Travis happy and in the company.
While nobody knows about the situation going behind their back, if they were to find out, a breach in contract could ensue and lawsuits will hit Travis hard.
Travis and Cody have still been in talks since he's morning more than willing to talk to the American Nightmare than Tony.
But, before he goes to work tonight with the blue brand, he and Becky are scheduled for Alexis's first post op check up and talks on physical therapy.
09:00 am*
Travis doesn't have to be at the Amalie Arena until around two in the afternoon, which means he's able to attend Alexis's appointment.
Becky met Katie at the door and watched Jackson off since her sister in law will watch the baby until they're all finished tonight.
Since Becky is also scheduled for RAW only, she's not on the card tonight but just tagging along with Travis. Alexis will go to Katie's once they're finished, and she'll be in good hands since Travis's sister is a trauma nurse for the local hospital.
Pulling into the local physical therapist office*
Hunter and Stephanie got with the trainers at the WWE Performance Center when they heard about Alexis's procedure and worked out a plan with them to get the specialist of their choosing and work there. It's cheaper and easier since Alexis has grown up around the Performance Center.
Kids will listen easier when they're around things that they're comfortable with, so it made sense to her parents.
Travis got out of the driver seat of his truck and Becky popped out of the passenger seat. While he unbuckled their daughter and Becky helped get her in a comfortable spot of her customized stroller, they wheeled her out and inside.
Checking in and now is a waiting game. The surrounding looked like the typical medical professional office, nothing too fancy or eye catching.
Alexis was busy reading a children's book while Becky pointed the pictures out. Travis was enjoying the time with them, even if it had to be in this particular scenario.
But that was short lived as his phone started to buzz in his pocket. Becky must've heard the buzzing or at least him fumbling in his pocket to get it.
Pulling the phone out read the contact name "Paul WWE" which was Hunter calling.
Travis: You alright if I step outside?
Becky: quickly nods* Of course.
He shot a smile at her while quickly getting out of his seat and stepping outside of the office, just in time to catch the last few rings to answer.
Travis: Hey, Paul.
Hunter: Travis! How's it going?
Travis: Good. Just checked Alexis into her appointment.
Hunter: I remembered that was today. Keep us updated on that and we'll get in contact with the trainers.
Travis: Yep, will do.
Hunter: Anyways, about tonight. I know we don't brand hop anymore but that's slowly starting to change and I figured I'd give you a courtesy call and ask you for your opinion.
He was hoping they wouldn't be asking for him to double up every week since he is the guy they're aiming for with Bray Wyatt and to help showcase the new character.
Hunter: While you'll stay on Monday nights and everything, there maybe a few times where we'll have a recording session of you doing a "live" promo for Monday. Then have you appear on a Friday night.
The entire company knows how much of a family man Travis is, and knew it would hurt the way he preforms if this hits him.
Hunter: We're not going to run this the way it was ran by Vince. That hurts families and our talent. So, what do you think?
He's trying to add up the timelines together, which Wrestle mania is only a month away at this point, and it's talking months this will help people.
Hunter didn't even talk about a contract signing or extension with Travis.
Travis: Listen, that's great and all but I'm not sure if I'm the guy you need to be asking this from. I don't even know if I'll be here at the end of April.
Hunter: I know but I'm trying to help restructure this companies time with our talent. That way we don't see mass amount of layoff or requests to get out of contracts early. I hated the way when we lost sixteen people last year, sixteen good people and amazing talent.
Travis just let him spill his story and trying to let him down the easiest way possible but that wasn't going to happen. It seems like Hunter is almost giving him his last shot on staying by reworking and rewriting rules.
Hunter: Think about it. We'll get together tonight before anything starts.
Travis: sigh* Alright, sounds good.
They both said their goodbyes and that wasn't the way Travis wanted that conversation to go. He's getting sick and tired of the talks of him staying, he's tired of the contract talks.
At this point it isn't about the money and longevity. It's about respect and almost tarnishing his name in this sport.
Travis walks back into the office*
Becky looked at her husband and could tell he was a little irritated and it had to do with that phone call.
As he sat down, she needed to get some sort of reassurance out of him.
Becky: Grabs his hand* Everything alright?
That sweet and thick Irish accent came out and is easily one of the weaknesses for his wife.
Travis: clears throat and nods head* Yeah. He just wanted to touch base on a few things.
Not perfect timing but as soon as he was done talking, the Sharps were called to the back for the start of a long process.
During the appointment, the specialist discussed a plan on how they deal with pediatric patients and how easy this could be, or on how bad this could be.
It's different with every child but both parents see the spark in Alexis and can tell that she'll kick this out the door quickly.
There was a phone call to the WWE Performance Center and their coordinator on how they'll provide the training and treatment from here on out. Everything from the specialist will just need sent over and they can get started as quickly as possible.
Throughout the day*
Since the meeting started and ended quickly than expected, both Travis and Becky had a little day with Alexis since she was being a trooper throughout this entire ordeal.
They went to the local park near their house with a picnic set up. It was hard since Alexis is confined to the customized stroller to help keep her hips in line since they're still not wanting her to move them as much as she already has to.
To a child, it's hard and it's hard on Travis and Becky since this is frustrating to their daughter.
But to cheer things up, the picnic ended with a walk around the pond and feeding the geese, as well as going for ice cream before they had to drop her off. Both parents saw it cheered up the little one a bit which was music to their ears.
Downtown Tampa*
Travis and Becky drive down the arenas driveway and into the underground parking garage. Becky jumped out and watched her husband unload and wheel all of his luggage into the arena.
Something was off, but not in a bad way entirely. This arena was the place where Travis got that call about his friends passing, which was devastating. With that happening, this was also the place where Becky and Travis started their relationship.
They walked by the area where it all started, and even though they were side by side; both looked over to that area and gave themselves a smile.
The men's locker room have now been split into everyone getting an individual area and rooms. Which was nice because that meant no more special treatment and more privacy.
Travis Sharp was written above the door, in which he opened his locker room door and both walked inside.
As he does every time, Travis dropped all his stuff and immediately started to organize his unpack.
She sat down and watched while scrolling through her phone. Memories popped up on her phone from last year, two years and so on which were almost like nostalgia for her.
One in particular was a selfie of them years ago, Becky and Travis in a restaurant. Smiling as Travis had a nasty black eye from a receipt he was handed a couple nights before.
She smiled and kept scrolling as her husband was still fumbling around for random stuff. Which she loved.
An hour and a half before show time*
Around this time is usually when the talent get times to themselves, study on script or get with match partners and discuss moves.
But not for Travis, he wasn't even dressed yet as he was waiting for a certain time to hit the clock.
*6:00pm*
At six, he was meeting with Hunter to discuss future plans and most likely another contract offer.
Becky had no idea what the meeting was about but wasn't too worried about it since he hasn't been in any trouble with the company before, at least to a severe point.
She observed her husbands behavior. Sitting on the chair, phone in hand, one leg shaking. She could tell he was as nervous about something, so she scooted over and started to scratch his back.
It seemed to work for a while until the clock hit that time he has been waiting on.
Travis: I'll be back in a second. Wait for me?
He shot her a smirky smile and a wink, and that made her crack a smile back.
It gave her goosebumps a little that he told her to "wait for him". Even though they are married, she loves the little flirting he does with her.
Back with Travis*
He was in the clothes he plans on wearing to the show because he doesn't believe that he'll be wrestling.
Walking through backstage not really in a hurry, but the quick walk felt like eternity for him as he finally reached the "Bosses Office". There he opened the door and peaked his head inside to see it a conference room, long table and chairs with just two people sitting down with a folder in front of them. Those two people would be Stephanie and Triple H.
Hunter: Hey, there he is!
Travis completely walks in and closes the door behind him, then slowly walks up to the table where Hunter pointed for him to take a seat which he did.
There he was, sitting at the end of this long table with the two heads of this entire company in front.
Stephanie: Good evening, Travis. How are you doing?
Travis: I'm doing good.
Stephanie: And Becky? I saw her come in with you?
Travis: She's good. I know she's been a bit of a wreck since this entire situation with Alexis has happened.
Hunter: And that's going well?
Travis: Oh extremely well so far. Met with the specialist today and in hopes to start physical therapy in the next weeks.
They both showed their sympathy in a positive way before getting down to business.
He watched them start to open the folder and sort papers while getting the conversation started.
Hunter: So Travis. The call I had with you earlier was to get the timeline straight. This has all started as we believe you'll hold the championship after Mania and continue on from then.
That blew his mind since he still hasn't signed anything stating he will stay with the company, and yet they're planning him long term.
Hunter: And with that, we want to hear what your plans are.
Travis: I'm just trying to wrap my head around that you have all this planned, and yet I still haven't committed to WWE in the future. I have no idea what I want.
Stephanie: kinda buts in* Travis, if I may. This is just incase you do resign and this is what the plan is. It could also change last minute or whenever you need a break or anything.
In his mind now, it feels almost as desperate as it really is. Travis is used to the company trying to push him through so much stuff just for him to kiss ass and suck it up. Now he feels like they're turning the tables and sucking up to him so he stays.
Hunter: Since her and I have taken over, this company isn't just about the fans anymore. It's about all the talent we have. We all have lives and are trying our best to not make this your only life.
Stephanie: Especially for people that have family's and that cherish them.
Travis's head was bursting with laughter and also joy since this is what he's been asking for since becoming a husband and father. It's the fact that it finally happens once leadership changed.
Stephanie: Does that stick with in your plan if you want to resign?
Travis: I mean it is a start since I've been asking for all of this since Alexis was born.
Hunter: And we've heard it all and finally want to set it in stone.
With this being news helps, Travis's mind is still out the door from WWE. It'll take a lot to keep him at the company on happy terms.
Hunter: Now back to where we're getting. Since these are a few of the things we plan on putting in writing to help our talent and possibly grow the roster again.
Travis: And you're telling me all this?
Stephanie: You're the one that influenced us on making this move. From all the time off you and Becky have had to take due to to family issues opened our eyes.
Hunter then pulled out the entire talent handbook and benefits they'll be adjusting to help them all. But with this being handed to him, there was another packet underneath.
Travis then found it and pulled it out as the top of it read in big bold letters..
WWE CONTRACT
He knew this was thrown at him as a fast ball. Get him in there to discuss alternatives and new plans, then also drop this on him.
Travis: Ah. More contract talks.
Stephanie: Hold on Travis. This is a new restructured contract that has more to offer than the last one we offered.
That peaked his interest so he started to read it over and on the first page it read..
WWE CONTRACT
Travis Sharp
Years contract is active: 5 years
Salary: 50 million dollars
He was dumbfounded when he looked at this particular part of the entire contract. It's the only thing that stuck out as it almost looked unreal.
Travis: This is almost laughable.
Stephanie: I'm sorry? The contract?
They both looked extremely confused as to what he could be talking about.
Travis: This is almost as if I was signing a professional football contract.
Hunter: We believe for the time you have here, and continue to have here. We think that's what you're worth, which is way more than anyone else that's full time active.
Travis: You see though, I'm not talking about the money.
That made them both look at each other and almost scratch their heads on to what it could be.
Travis: The term that this contract is active is insane. Five straight years?
Hunter: You've been here for about the same time as it is. What seems to be the problem?
Travis: Will the way creative and everything else happening backstage stay for five years? Or will this nice change last a few months and we'll have the cancer that is Vince behind the desk again?
Shocked as the way he's talking about management, to actual management and how they almost feel disrespected.
Stephanie: Excuse me?
Travis: Look, I'm not looking for a fight or anything but you don't know the hell I've been walking through and how I've been told that we're "family" hasn't made me feel like it.
Hunter & Stephanie: speechless*
Travis: This is not on you two, but I'd rather not have my life locked to this company just to be slapped in the face later on down the road. I'm not risking my career, my name or my life outside of this place again.
At this point all three now know the meeting is over and Travis is finally letting some steam out.
Travis: rant is finally over* Listen, I apologize but I'll have to think this over with my family.
Hunter: Understandable. Take your time Travis.
Stephanie: If you don't sign and your contract is up, we can work something out. Just think it over Trav.
Travis was already standing at this point, and politely left the awkward situation that was heated.
He continued out of the room and down the hall where nobody was in sight. When he looked at the clock, and entire hour had passed and he knew everyone was slowly making their way to the front where the show will begin here soon.
Locker room door opens and the only thing Travis sees is Becky, sitting on her phone and just watching videos to pass the time.
That was until he returned in a rush and basically busted back into the room which caught her off guard.
Becky: Hey. You ok?
Travis: I have no idea.
Becky: What was the meeting about?
At this point she can see that her husband was in disbelief and confusion as well as she was to an extent. Without knowing the situation or what the meeting was about, she had no idea how to help but try to calm him down.
He sat down next to her which she immediately reached around him in embracing while scratching his head.
Smackdown starts*
For the entire show he wasn't saying much on what it was about besides the contract part.
Becky was still surprised that he hadn't resigned but she also remembered him talking about a break. She has no idea about him talking to Cody behind everyone's back.
With the discussion about what was said here and there, his segment was finally up and it was closing the show.
He knows a little bit of what it was. A character was debuting to help Bray a little. Travis was going back out to the ring with Bray. That's all he knew though, which is how they keep the surprise to everyone as well as talent to get a legitimate reaction.
Travis's time to shine*
Standing in gorilla with Triple H behind the desk with a few writers with headsets on, Kane was there since he's been a huge help with this storyline, Bray, and also Becky was standing with him.
She was holding his hand as the couple was standing and watching the TV screen which debuted the new promo video for their storyline.
With the torment the Bray Wyatt character has done to Travis, as well as the last time they met and "Little Travis" appeared as a puppet.
Then Travis's theme hits.
[There should be a GIF or video here. Update the app now to see it.]
It still gives him goosebumps whenever the crowd explodes when hearing that guitar riff in the beginning.
He left Becky's side and continued through the curtain and out onto the stage. Cameras picked him up at the entrance, gesturing the belt around his waist and a microphone in hand.
Walking as if he was storming down to the ring, Travis slid in and got a huge pop as he did his quick laps around looking at the crowd.
Blood dies down*
The crowd grew silent as he raised the microphone up to him.
Travis: We are one month away from Sunday to seeing myself step into the ring with whatever bipolar character Bray shows up with.
Immediately Travis was already poking the bear and the crowd immediately woke up with the shots.
Travis: Bray is the heavyweight champion and he doesn't even showcase his talent and reasoning on why he should be holding the belt. I haven't seen that belt in person for months, and that only showcases a coward, not a champion.
The crowd was starting to eat this up as it could go either way, where Travis just rants about Bray or the champion actually shows up.
Travis: I am the workhorse and backbone of that championship belt. I put that sucker up every god damn week! I am the people's champ, not some lunatic that plays with dolls..
As soon as that was said, the arena blacked out and the crowd cheered as the silhouette of Bray appeared and lights back on.
There the fiend was, standing in the corner of the ring area but not in the ring. Travis staring him down and Bray just smiled back.
Bray: Travis. Buddy. Sticks and stones may break my bones but your words never will hurt me. Nothing can hurt me. I'm basically immortal.
Travis: letting Bray talk*
Bray: Now that we're face to face, I can now appreciate everything you've done and compliment on your resume. But, you won't listen. You're the type where if it doesn't benefit your greedy mind then it doesn't matter. As for me, yeah I may have not put this title up every week like you have, but that's not what makes a champion.
The typical antihero attitude that Brays character is at the moment is making Travis's heel character a chump.
Bray: Just because you showcase your skills every week doesn't make you a great champion. It's what all of these people follow. Not that you have to prove to yourself, it's that you've already proven to everyone by winning the belt. You see I showcase myself in my own world, and everyone is following. You on the other hand come out here week in and week out and talk nonsense about nothing. You are a black hole to people.
At this point Travis is just going along because Brays character is at that point where he has the two sides, one happy Bray and the other off the walls Bray. The promo showcased that the two characters have now jumbled Brays mind by combining and he just rambles.. or so he thought.
Bray: Travis, at this point in the storyline I'm just trying to send a warning.
Travis: A warning?
Bray: I have no idea what you'll walk into the ring with at WrestleMania but I hope you're ready for anyone.
Travis: And why do you say that?
Bray: Because. Everything in my mind doesn't come to a fight alone.
He knew that was the cue and I'm dropped a man, dressed in dark gray with a trench coat, top hat and mask. The character blindsided Travis by sending him into the ropes and immediately hitting him with a clothesline that sent him through the ring.
The spot was perfect and the crowd ate it up as the show ended in a cliff hanger. Nobody knew what Bray was saying but they're seeing how unhinged and unstoppable Bray is becoming which is supposed to send fear to Travis because he picked the wrong opponent when he won the Royal Rumble.
Under the ring and through the trap door*
Travis got out from the middle of the arena under everyone's feet and walked back into the gorilla position to grab Becky.
He poked his head back in and got her attention which also got Hunters attention and he tried to call for him but the Sharps were out of there.
Packed up and back in the car*
Travis and Becky were listening to music on the way to Katie's to pick the kids up, but we're interrupted by a text that came though. Since Travis was connected to his radio, the text played through the radio.
Text from Cody: Hey man, figured you wanna talk a little? Shoot me a call when you're free and we can talk business.
When it ended, it blew Becky's mind as she immediately put the pieces of the puzzle together.
Becky: Trav?
Travis: Yeah?
Becky: What does he mean by business?
Immediately trying to scramble and trying to come up with an excuse but his time was short.
Travis: Listen. I'm exploring my options.
That shocked Becky and she loudly gasped in disbelief.
Becky: Wait. Are you thinking of not resigning and going to another company? While you're signed to one?
Travis: Well, kinda.
Becky: Travis, no! That's breach in contract. We can get sued.
Travis: Woah woah. Relax.
She was now grabbing his arm and now it almost sounded like fear in her voice. He wasn't sure if it was now the thought of a lawsuit, or him leaving and them not being together since he'll have a different schedule.
Becky: No, Trav. Listen to me. Are you going to leave WWE?
Travis: I haven't decided yet.
Becky: Is that what the meeting was about? They're wanting you to sign?
He's finally lost the fight. He can't keep it a secret anymore. He has to tell his wife now.
Travis: sigh* Yeah. They offered me a new contract tonight and tried to get my takes on the new benefits they're handing out to talent.
Becky: What was your contract?
Travis: Five years.
Becky: Five!?
Travis: For fifty million.
Another loud gasp was heard and her head hit the head rest of his truck.
Becky: Fifty million!?
Travis: Yeah. But I've already told myself it's not about the money.
Becky: It's about the respect. I remember this conversation before this all happened.
He couldn't believed she remembered the conversation they had one night in bed while out on tour.
Becky: Look Trav. We're financially stable, and so will our kids. Whatever it is, I'm behind your back, babe.
That caught him completely off guard. The way her tone was to the news just a few seconds ago made him believe that she was on the opposite side of his opinion.
While stopping at a long stop light, Travis just looked over at his wife and she was all on board for whatever he wants to do.
Travis: You're with me in this?
Becky: Till death do us part..
That hit him right in his core. It really twisted his mind, but all he could do was think of one thing to do.
Travis: I'm sorry. I have to..
She was confused on what he was saying until he grabbed her shirt and pulled her close to him. They both were inches away and it was almost like slow motion.
Their lips hit each other. The shivers go down both their spines. They've both been waiting for this to happen.
Becky put her hand up against his face and slowly pulled it down. It was a very intimate moment, but one they've both been waiting for.
Light turns green.
