How come I was watching a Fairy Tail fanfic on YouTube (because apparently that's a thing I don't get it but ehhhhh it looked a little interesting) and my brain went straight to Ninjago????

Why do people hate the Ninjago Movie so much?
Ok scratch that I know why. Some people are taking it a little too seriously in that it's not really anything like the show. You gotta take it for what it is, because naturally if they're gonna make a FULL movie about it they have to change some things because otherwise not everyone will understand it and they want the $$$ so they want as many viewers and buyers as possible. Some people don't like that they changed the ninja's designs and personalties and VAs (me included tbh but y'know I'll take what I can get) Some people don't like that it's focused solely on Lloyd (me too here but like I said...)
The Movie is its own sort of AU. When are the movies every ACTUALLY directly linked to the TV show when the show came first??

But my REAL question is:
Why is everyone hating on Season 8 because of the Movie??
The only thing that changed in Season 8 are the designs. And even then, the changes kinda make sense.
Also, THEY HAVE NEW OUTFITS LITERALLY EVERY SEASON. CHILL OUT, FANDOM WHO DOESNT LIKE JAY HAVING FRECKLES.
But like, otherwise s8 makes complete sense and sticks with the tv plot line. It follows up on s7 and introduces some character development we honestly should have been expecting for a while, especially with Lloyd. Ninjago City changes with every season so no surprise there, and y'know the Ninjago timeline is already whacky so of course they can have ancient spells mixed with a motorcycle gang at the same time. Wu and Garmadon were young 40 years before the ninja but are the sons of the first spinjutzu master, which in theory should have died hundreds of years beforehand. That just magically aged in those 40 years for no apparent reason.

Reason why I'm asking this is because some kids I talked to in school once told me they liked Ninjago until the movie and then refused to watch anything afterward. Like, they're not related??? I can understand not liking the movie but refusing to watch s8 or anything afterward??? That seems stupid and biased to me. I'm not sure I can call you a real fan, even if you did wear a shirt multiple times throughout the year.

Maybe because it's nearly midnight and I'm on a small sugar rush lol
