Chapter 49

Yumei straightened the paper and took the pen, she pauses and it hovered above the paper.

Her heart was hammering, what was she going to write? She had trouble to put her thoughts into words sometimes.

She was used to keeping it all bottle up but... She glanced down again to Yoongi. He had a way to drag out her emotions, he and Jimin both made her form words and not let her keep it bottled up.

She turned her gaze back to the empty paper and began writing.

"Dear Namjoon,

I struggle with putting my emotion into words, so I will be doing my best.

I never thought that I would meet you by chance and already I enjoy your company.

It feels to me if I have known you for years. I can not tell you what this short meeting has meant to me and I hope that we would be able to see each other again, soon."

She re-read the letter twice and felt the pressure on her leg getting heavier, she took another glance down. Yoongi was fast asleep and his head pressed hard against her left leg.

She smiled, 'Ooni, you have no idea what you mean to me.' She made a mental note that one day she would have the courage to tell him.

They did have a rocky start to their friendship and she didn't know why he was always so stiff with her but she felt that the passing years that they have grown up together made them closer.

A lot closer than she and Jimin were, but Yoongi went to the moon and back after the dog attack that he saved her from. She returned her focus to her letter.

It sounded stupid... She really wasn't a wordsmith when it came to her emotions but one thing was certain. She thought back when she met him after all these years at the university.

She had wondered if it was the same boy, she took that leap and was happy that it was. When he offered to help her and he took her hand; her heart fluttered beyond believe.

She had never felt that emotion, she never knew that emotion because of her sheltered upbringing. She glanced towards her door, her parents haven't come yet to check if she was okay...

It broke her heart and she felt a tear rolling down her cheek. 'Stop it Yumei! It is as Ooni said; they love you from the bottom of their hearts.'

She wished that she could believe that as easily as Yoongi told her. She let out a sigh and returned to her letter. She crumpled it and threw it on the floor. "Not good enough."

She stared at the blank paper, how was she going to do this without giving away her cover? She bit her lip, she didn't want to lie to him and it was easy to have talked to him when they were children.

Was that why they say the truth always fall from the lips of a babe? Because the sin of adulthood had not reached them yet?

She remembered that she had told him her true name and about her friend Jimin. Now she had lied to him since they met again...

"Yoongi said he wouldn't read the letter." She mumbled out softly. Would it be wrong to come clean? Maybe not in the first letter, she would have to ease into her dramatic life.

And on top of that, she would have to go deeper with her weak immune system. Only Yoongi and Jimin knew how to react around it. She didn't think her father would nor Riyu, they were to absent in her life.

She took a deep breath in, her heart was pounding, why was it so difficult to write something. She closed her eyes and her mind wandered to the top of the hospital roof where Namjoon took her to see the stars.

She smiled and opened her eyes, her hand hovered above the blank page again.

"Dear, Namjoon.

I know that there are no words that could describe what you meant to me in these past two days.

I have a difficulty of trusting people but you broke through the wall that I have built since childhood.

I don't know how to write down my emotions, but I am writing this to let you know that I have enjoyed the time you have spent with me.

You saved me from my loss of direction, you have kept me company when I have fainted from the sporting event... I know I shouldn't have been so stubborn but you have listened to my pathetic excuse of why I had to do it.

You came to my rescue without knowing who I am, and for that I thank you. -she drew a bunny face.-

You carried me like a knight on a quest and comforted me through my pain."

She blinked, why are the words coming so easily? She continued.

"You stayed with me up until we arrived at the hospital, and no one has ever sneaked in to see me.

You bought me Morningstar and she wanted me to tell you that she was happy in her new home. -She drew a smiling unicorn.-

The one thing I would never forget is our time upon the roof. You have given me the greatest gift a guy could give a girl with a weak immunity; freedom.

I wish upon all the stars that gazed from heaven down to us, that I would be able to see you again soon. I miss your company, I know it has only been two days but for me, it felt like years.

I guess what I am trying to write... I like you...

Yours Faithfully,
Yuki Dodjima."

Her hand lifted from the paper, she stared at the letter. She had poured all of her emotion as well as she could in these words.

She bit her lip, would he think it was too childish? What if he didn't like her the way she did him? She folded the letter and places it in an envelope and sealed it with a rainbow sticker she had.

She placed her calligraphy kit next to her in the bed, she lightly patted Yoongi on the head. "Ooni, you have to wake up."

Yoongi snorted and his arm clutched on to her leg and he made himself more comfortable. She smiled, he really could sleep anywhere.

"Ooni." She patted his head and he lightly slapped her hand away, she moved from his head to his ear, "Ooni, you have to wake up."

Yoongi opened his eyes, "Why are you waking me up so early?"

"It is not early Ooni, you fell asleep while I was writing."

He looked up at her smiling face which was looking down on him. "Why didn't you wake me earlier?"

"You seemed so tired and looked so peaceful. I know I am a handful, so I let you sleep."

He reached out and flicked her forehead, "You are a dummy. You are not a handful."

She rubbed her forehead, "Why do you keep flicking my forehead?"

He had a grin on his face, "I am going to keep flicking your forehead if you talk yourself down."

She smiled, yes Yoongi didn't know how much he meant to her, "I am done with my letter."

He stood up from the ground. "You have?" He turned to face her, "Can I have it, so I can give it to him tomorrow?"

She picked up the letter next to her and held it out to him, "Promise you won't read it?"

He took the letter from her outstretched hand, "I promise that I won't read a word of it."

"Thank you, Ooni."

He leaned forward and kissed her temple, "No need to thank me, Yumi."

"Yumi?"

He smirked at her confusion, "That is my new pet name for you."

She pouted, "Giving me nicknames are we?"

There was humour in her voice, and he ruffled her hair. "Yes, it is a play on your name and when put together it means Evening Dream."

Evening Dream? She liked it, it reminded her of seeing the stars with Namjoon. It was one evening dream, "I accept your nickname."

His smiled widened, "Like you had a choice." He waves at her and paused as he exited her room, "Good night, Yumi."

"Good night, Ooni." She smiled and scooted on her bed to place the calligraphy set on her nightstand. She had difficulty with getting up, she didn't change into her nightclothes yet.

This was going to be a learning curve, at least her room was small enough to try and walk with the boot.

Jimin had left Yumei in Yoongi's care, he was on his way to Mr Kazuma's office. He was certain that they were home if they weren't Majima wouldn't have been here.

He approached the door, angry voices were coming from behind the door. "You can not be serious, Shito!"

"I am serious, Riyu! I am going to send Yumei out of here."

"Let us talk about this."

"I am done talking about it. This decision has nothing to do with you."

"It has everything to do with me! Why did I leave my husband and children for?"

"You have agreed to bring her up to adulthood and she is an adult now, Riyu."

Jimin's hand was hanging on the door, should he knock or keep eavesdropping?

He heard Riyu's voice close to the door, "That is the coldest thing you have ever said to me. I gave up everything for you and this was how you repay me? By telling me I have no say in our daughter-"

"She is not your daughter, do you think I am blind? You only pretend when you know I am around."

Jimin saw the door handle bent and the door opening slightly. "I have never been so insulted in my life! I love Yumei like she is my own blood if you think for one minute that I do not care. You are dead wrong!"

Jimin blinked as the door flew open and he was staring at Riyu with his hand still In the air, "And here comes the puppy."

She stormed past Jimin, and he stood still as a statue, 'Interesting.'
