Chapter Four

Sejin and Rapmon were seated in the main office. They were searching through the applications that were spread on the table. They had hundreds of applications which wasn't surprising considering the salary they were offering. So far they had conducted over eighty interviews. Some were good, some were honestly terrible, but only one applicant really stood out to Rapmon. Ms Emeena's application caught his attention from the moment he saw it, and then meeting her had decided him on who would be the best pick. Ms Emeena was the right choice. Even the rest of the group seemed to like her based on what Rapmon told them. That was very important because he wouldn't bring anyone that the rest weren't comfortable with.
"If Namjoon is impressed by her then she must be a very good teacher," Jin had said.
"Trust me you guys are going to like her. She's very experienced."
"We trust your judgment Hyung. I'm sure she is great," said Jhope.
The only thing Rapmon didn't mention was that she was a Muslim woman, even though he knew it would be no issue with the group.
They were still waiting on an answer from Ms Emeena. If she didn't get back to them by the end of the day, he and Sejin would have no choice but to pick someone else. The hours ticked by with still no word from Ms Emeena.
"Namjoon, I don't think Ms Emeena will come today. She didn't seem certain about her working with us."
Rapmon was saddened by that. He had hoped Ms Emeena would accept the job, but Sejin Hyung was right, it didn't look like she would be working with them.
"Alright, let's pick Mr Justin. He seems like a good..."
A knock on the office door cut him up short and the receptionist walked in.
"Rapmon-ssi, Sejin-ssi, sorry to interrupt. Ms Emeena is here. Shall I send her in?"
Sejin and Rapmon exchanged excited glances with each other. Maybe it was good news after all.
"Absolutely. Send her in."
The receptionist went out and Ms Emeena entered in her place. It looked the same as it did two days prior. The men were even sitting in the same spot as before. She greeted them before she settled down in the chair opposite of Rapmon and Sejin.
Rapmon laced his hands together expectantly. Let it be good news he thought.
"I apologize for taking so long. I was stuck in traffic..." she began.
"It's alright, we're glad you're here now," Sejin replied.
Ms Emeena continued. "I put a lot of thought into whether or not I should sign the contract. My daughter Amani, the one that came with me, said that I should take the job and I considered her stand point."
Rapmon remembered the girl. She had worn a purple head scarf and asked that her mom be given time to think things over. If Ms Emeena were to accept the job, it seemed like Amani would be the one to thank for convincing her.
"So what did you decide?"
For her answer, Ms Emeena carefully withdrew the contract from her bag and placed it on the table. Rapmon took it first and scanned it. The bottom of the contract was signed in a looping signature. Rapmon sighed in relief. He passed it to Sejin who smiled as soon as he noticed the signature.
"When do I start?"
"Right away. The new month starts in three days. So we'd like you to meet the rest of the members and do introductions before the first. Then you will start officially on the first," Sejin told her after assessing the contract.
"Wow, three days only to prepare huh?" Ms Emeena chuckled. She could already tell this job was going to be demanding. Rapmon looked at her apologetically.
"We only have twelve weeks before we have to go back on tour so we have to make the most out of our time in South Korea before we have to leave again."
That she understood, and for 1,000 dollars an hour she couldn't really complain. Sejin reiterated the importance of the" No Disclosure, No Contact" clause.
"Even though your daughter has already met Rapmon, it's important that only you as the teacher are the only one interacting with any of the members of BTS."
"I understand. I don't intend to involve my children, especially my daughters. They're being raised a certain way and boys and celebrities aren't a part of that."
The meeting was concluded moments later and everyone went their respective ways. Rapmon was elated. He told the boys right away the good news.
"She signed the contract!" he announced loudly. This was met by enthusiastic cheering from the boys.
"When do we meet her?" Jungkook asked, curious and eager to meet the teacher he heard so much about.
"She's coming tomorrow."
"Wooh! I can't wait!" V squealed. Rapmon gave him a curious look. So weird. Well at least one of them was happy. Everyone was excited however, and all were ready to start their studies.
Ms Emeena returned home to the anxious inquiries of her daughters, plural and not singular.
"Amani why did you tell your sister?" Did her daughter completely forget about the contract she signed?
"I didn't, she heard us talking," she protested. That was mostly true, she hadn't volunteered the information.
"Are you working for BTS now Ummie?" her eighteen year old daughter Maya asked her while anxiously blinking her eyes. She looked at her twenty three year old and saw she was doing the same thing. She doubted they were even aware that they were doing it. She debated on telling them. It didn't seem like a good idea to tell them anything because they were far too invested in the whole situation, and they shouldn't have been.
"Mama please tell us," they pleaded. She hesitated a moment longer before telling them.
"OMG really?! You took the job!"
"I thought you would decline!"
"This is so awesome!"
"I can't believe you really took the job."
They talked rapidly on top of each other, obviously excited. Ms Emeena shook her head. She wished they didn't know but it was too late now.
"Do we get to meet them?" they asked.
"Absolutely not," she asserted firmly. "You aren't even supposed to know. Don't go telling your brothers anything either. This is confidential. I mean it girls."
"We can't meet them at all? Not even once?" Maya whined. How was that even fair?! Amani got to meet Rapmon. Why couldn't she meet at least one of them?
Ms Emeena watched her daughters with disquieted eyes. They weren't stopping to think about what they were asking and to whom. Her daughters knew better than to ask to meet a group of boys. That was not the way she was raising her daughters. She didn't say anything to them. She didn't see the point because they were too excited to really hear her, so instead she reminded them of the clause and left it at that.
"Damn I forgot about that!" Amani swore, frustrated with that particular detail.
"Excuse me little girl. You know better than to be cussing in my house."
"Oh yeah sorry Mama."
It sucked that they couldn't meet BTS. It more than sucked, it bit, but on the good side they'd soon be financially comfortable, even though Amani didn't care about that anymore. All she wanted was to meet BTS, especially Suga, her ultimate bias.
"I wish I could meet him just once Maya," she sighed wistfully.
"I really want to meet Jimin," Maya replied, also wistful.
"Not Jungkook?"
"I mean I like Jungkook, but Jimin is just so adorable. I wanna see how he is in real life."
That's how Amani felt about Suga, but it didn't matter, they couldn't meet them anyway.
"You know what Amani, I don't even care about that stupid clause. I have a strong feeling we're going to meet them anyway."
"Really? What makes you say that?"
Maya shrugged her shoulders. "I just have a feeling that's all."
Well that changed things. Whenever Maya had a feeling about something, whatever she felt would turn out to be true, be it good or bad. This was also true for her dreams. Sometimes it was a thing to be nervous from, but in this case it was something to give them hope over.
"Well I hope you're right. If I don't get to meet them I'm gonna go crazy."
Maya identified with the feeling. She really wanted to meet Bangtan. Not as much as her sister but a lot nonetheless.
"You know, it would be even better if you have a dream," Amani said thoughtfully.
"Yeah I know," Maya agreed. " Let's hope I have a dream about them. Somehow my dreams always comes true."
If she could have a dream about it, then they could be confident it would happen.
Amani felt that she had to meet them somehow. She just had to, but would she and Maya really get to meet them? They hoped so.
Time would tell.
