Horrendous reminiscence
Another night, another drama
They just don't stop, she acts like a crazy spy
He acts like an unremorseful criminal
Both stuck under the same roof
He shouts and calls her all sorts of crazy
To which she just screams, yes, like a toddler, done being a toddler
He puffs out smoke, standing at the doorway, looking at the sight he had created
A woman on verge of losing it all
her eyes turning red, her veins being prominent of her vexation, on her temple
presenting a sight of near death
On another corner, a little girl in middle school, cursed to witness this atrocious sight, sits and wishes upon stars, sky, God whatever that listens, closing her book, she tries to calm the crazy woman down
looking at the man still smoking, with helplessness
she just wishes her life for the woman
she just sits there trying to collect a storm, she didn't even forecast
screams and curses, crashing utensils with crashing promises
I don't notice my trembling hands and heavy breathing till I feel something wet dropping down my chin.
Coming 'home' to an empty dark kitchen could pull on my nerves too, I couldn't know.
Work has been keeping me busy, busy enough to suppress the issues with my brain.
With my already trembling hands, I pour myself a glass of water. Gulping it down hastily, I focus on my breathing, trying to keep check of my surroundings. I look at my dad's room, one knock could help me but I am too scared, my feet feel heavy. My heart almost sinking in my chest. I count things around me, naming different knick knacks around me. As I suppress a sob at my state, her figure appears clearly in front my eyes, too real to be a lie. I fall down on my knees, accidentally taking the glass with me too.
The crash seemed to have alerted my dad, as I see his blurry figure coming into view, distorting her figure, boiling me up,
"Get out of the way!"
I don't register his next moves, as now he engulfs me in his embrace, strongly. Her figure totally disappearing, taking my self control with it.
"Shhshshh... Iris... I'm here, it's okay....it's okay..."
I hear my dad, speaking almost in my ear.
And I can't help but cry out loud,
"Ma-mama.... Mama..."
