Chapter 13- Bryson's POV

I rolled my eyes and scowled, pressing my lips into a thin line when Blake said that he would help her in any way that he could. I didn't say a word and grabbed the lead rope tighter in my hand because I had no idea why he would do that when all I wanted to do was stay away from her and just make sure that my niece and nephews stayed safe and alive.

"You don't have to," Margaret said, with a small laugh in her voice while she shook her head. "You and Bryson are doing enough for us, and I can not but feel grateful for everything that you both are doing for me."

"But we can do so much more for you," Blake said gently. "I mean, I-"

"No," Margaret said with a soft scowl in her voice, interrupting him with a shake of her head. "Please," she said and tucked her head closer to her chest before she lifted her head. "If I need something else, then I will let you know, but for now, I am more than grateful for what you and your family have done for me and are doing for me."

Blake looked at me and shot me an annoyed look, silently telling me to tell her that we would be more than happy to help her so that she knows that we were telling the truth. He turned back around when her horse snorted and pulled on the lead rope, and Magaret bit back a small snort, amused.

"Settle down, Bon Bon," she softly scolded and narrowed her eyes before she cleared her throat and looked at me. She bit back a small smile and tucked her head closer to her chest. "How much further do we have to go before we are at the pasture, if you don't mind me asking?"

"We are almost there," I said curtly, holding back an eye roll and pressing my lips into a thin line. "After that, you may do whatever it is that you want to do."

"Uh, no, we will show you where you can put your stuff," Blake said and shook his head, and he shot me an annoyed look. "Do you have any saddles and bridles that you have with you?" he asked and raised an eyebrow in question.

"Yes," she said and nodded in confirmation. "I have a few, but the others are still at the other stable." She shrugged and grimaced, pressing her lips into a thin line. "I have acquired a good selection over the years."

"How many do you have?" I asked and raised an eyebrow in question but kept looking forward because I did not want either Sprite and Admiral to do something stupid or try to get away from me.

"Quite a lot," Margaret said with a small laugh in her voice. "I have a few English and Western saddles for me, my brother, and my daughter. It also depends on who I am riding." She shrugged and grimaced. "I have sold a few of them, but I still have a lot."

"Do you mind if others use them?" Blake asked and raised an eyebrow in question while he looked at her.

"Not at all," Margaret said and shook her head. "As long as they are able to keep them well kept, then it's fine. They can use them for as long as they need to." She shrugged and grimaced, pressing her lips into a thin line. "I have let people at my other stable use them, and they have made sure to keep them safe."

"Are they going to need the saddles or not?" I asked and raised an eyebrow in question, and Margaret shook her head no.

"No," she said and shook her head. "They have a lot of saddles, and most of the time they are used only for my horses, even though I would use them for someone else if I have to ride other horses to train them."

I nodded and stayed silent, pressing my lips into a thin line. I didn't say a word and looked at the pony that I was leading before I looked at the Shire, who had been following us without a fight before I looked forward.

Finally, we were at the pasture that I wanted to put the horses in, and I couldn't help but breathe a small sigh of relief because it meant that I would have to only deal with her for a while longer.

Even though she was going to live here for as long as she needed to...

I pursed my lips in annoyance and bit back an annoyed sigh, again wondering why my mother and brother wanted her to live here when we were fine as it was. "This is where you are going to keep the horses," I said coldly and looked at her while I stopped Sprite from walking, and the pony snorted and rolled her eyes while she stopped. "There is a place for your food so you will be able to use that."

"Ok," Margaret said and nodded, breathing a small sigh of relief with a small smile on her face. "Thank you, Bryson."

I grunted and didn't say a word to her while I looked at Blake, who had stopped as well and was looking at us with a small smile on his face. "Go ahead and open the gate," I said and set my jaw before I turned to look at Margaret. "We will let them go through and then we will show you where your brother and daughter are before you can start unloading your truck."

"Ok, thank you, Bryson," she said and slowly nodded. She fiddled the lead rope in her hands while she offered me a small smile and tucked her head closer to her chest. "I do appreciate you and your brother for helping with them and leading them to the pasture. I know that they can be a handful sometimes."

I offered her a tight smile and nodded while my brother opened the gate and pushed it open before he started to lead the horse into the pasture. "Of course," I said with a small hum in my voice before I led both Sprite and Admiral into the pasture with Margaret and Gallant following me.

Maybe, just maybe it would be fine if they would be here with us, even if I still didn't want them here...
