Chapter 10- Margaret's POV

Leslie bit back a small chuckle, and she slowly nodded. "You are very much welcome," she said before she cleared her throat and shifted on her feet. "Now, are you ready to get everything done?" she asked and raised an eyebrow in question.

I bit back a small smile and nodded. "Yes," I said before I cleared my throat and shifted on my feet before I looked at Bryson. "Do you want to go ahead and call your kids away from Dono?" I asked. "That way I can get him into the truck and not scare anyone?"

"Do we have to get away from him?" one of the kids, Fiona, asked. "Can we keep him?"

I bit back a small laugh while I shook my head. "I am sorry, Fiona," I said, "but he is not for sale. You P-L-A-Y with him later, but you can't right now while we try to get everything situated, ok?"

Fiona groaned. "Fine," she said, and I had a feeling that she had a small pout on her face. "When will we be able to do that?"

"After we get everything done," I said, biting back a small chuckle. "So, do you want to go ahead and get the kids taken care of?" I looked at Bryson.

"Ok, Kiddos, go ahead and go into the house," Leslie said while Bryson just stared at me with wide eyes and an open mouth, not saying a word. "We can see the dogs when they are done. Ok?"

"Yes, Ma'am," they kids chorused, and I had a feeling that they did what they were told to do while Dono whined after them, sounding like he was dying.

I breathed a small sigh of relief and looked at Blake, ignoring Dono's whine. "So, do you want to take care of Bonnie and Sprite while I get everything else done and then I will take Gal away from Bryson so that he can take care of Sprite?" I asked and cocked my head, studying him.

"Sure," Blake said and nodded. "Is Dono ok?" he asked and cocked his head while he studied me with a raised eyebrow. A small smile appeared on his face while he looked at me. "It sounds like he is dying."

"He is dying," I said, biting back a small laugh while I nodded in confirmation and handed him Bonnie's lead rope. "He was enjoying all of the love that he was being given from the children, and when they stopped and went inside... he didn't like it at all."

Blake bit back a small snort and nodded. He looked at Maybell and raised an eyebrow in question while he stared at her. "Here, do you want to hand Sprite's lead rope to me?" he asked. "So that we can get everything done?"

"Sure," Maybell said and nodded. She handed it to him, and he took it. "If Sprite gets to be too much of a handful, drop Bonnie's lead rope. She won't go anywhere without someone leading her."

"Really?" Blake asked and raised an eyebrow in question while he looked at me, and I nodded in confirmation. "What about Admrial?" he asked while he cocked his head and studied me.

"He's fine as long as Sprite is beside him," I said. I rubbed Bonnie's neck before I took a step back. "If you need help before I am done, then yell," I said. "I will drop everything to help you two even if I am not done with what I have to do."

Blake scoffed a laugh and rolled his eyes. "We have two strong cowboys that can handle anything and everything, Miss Prince," he said with a small wink, and I rolled my eyes and scowled. "Now, go ahead and get everything taken care of so that we can be done. Ok?"

"Yes, Mr. Green," I said, biting back a small laugh while I slowly nodded. "Excuse us."

And with that, Maybell and I walked away from the men so that we would be able to get everything and everyone situated before we got situated ourselves.

Hopefully, it wouldn't take long because like my daughter, I was getting hungry, too...

I walked over to my brother while he calmed Dono down with a few more pats after I had finished up with my trailer and getting it closed. "How is he doing?" I asked and cocked my head while I studied them.

Travis looked at me with an annoyed look on his face and rolled his eyes while Dono whined and rolled over on his belly. He didn't say a word and slowly blinked before he looked at Dono before he looked at me.

"That bad, huh?" I asked, biting back a small laugh. "Coem on, Dono, let's go ahead and stand." I gestured for him to stand, and my dog instantly did what I wanted him to do and stood, wagging his tail while he looked at me.

"He is dying, Mags," he said, grumbling while he pursed his lips in annoyance. "What else do you think is happening?"

I bit back a small snort and shrugged with a small grimace on my face. "Come on, let's go ahead and get him into the bed of the truck," I said, "and you two in your seats. Ok?"

"Ok," Travis said and stood. "Did you want me to take the dogs O-U-T after everything is done and settled?"

I nodded in confirmation and started to lead them to my truck with Leslie following us close behind. "Make sure that they are leashed though before you do so, please," I said. "I don't want them to escape just yet until we get them situated in the house."

"Ok," he said.

"I can also help out," Leslie said. "I don't mind helping out with Dono if you need me to."

I breathed a small sigh of relief and nodded, grateful that she trusted him enough not to be scared of him and handle him if I needed it. "Travis will be fine with Dono," I said. "You can help with the others, but I am not sure that it would be a good idea with Dono..."

Leslie bit back a small chuckle and cleared her throat. "Are you worried about what my son will say?" she asked, her voice barely above a whisper, and I had a feeling that her son didn't hear and wasn't paying attention to us.

I looked at her with a small grimace because that was the truth. I didn't say a word, but I didn't need to while she pressed her lips into a thin line and nodded as if she knew that I was.

"Dono is a baby," Maybell said and rolled her eyes while she narrowed them. She folded her arms across her chest and scowled. "He won't hurt a fly."

"Maybell," I warned and narrowed my eyes a little when she looked at me with wide innocent eyes. "Hush. It's fine for right now, ok?"

Maybell groaned and rolled her eyes. She didn't say another word and folded her arms across her chest tighter while she made it to the truck where Pickles was sitting at the window looking at us with a grumpy look on her face.

"Is that Pickles?" Leslie asked, biting back a small laugh, and I nodded in confirmation.

"That is Pickles," I said with a small laugh in my voice. "I think that Tinie is in the passenger seat asleep." I walked over to the back of the truck with Dono and Travis. "Stay back everyone," I said while the other dogs wagged their tails and whined in excitement as if they thought we were going to be let out.

I waved my hand back before I opened the truck bed, and the dogs stayed back. "Ok, Dono," I said and gestured for him to hop up into the truck bed. "Hop up."

Dono whined before he did what I was told to do and hopped into the truck bed while Travis released his leash. He turned around and sat down on the truck bed, waiting for me to take the leash off so that he could see the other dogs.

"Good boy," I said, biting back a small laugh. I took his leash off of his collar and scratched him behind his ear. "We will get you all T-R-E-A-T-S when we are all settled in and some stuff is unpacked. Ok?"

Dono whined and wagged his tail faster. He pressed his nose to my cheek when I was close to him, and I bit back a small laugh while I backed away and closed the truck bed.

"Good dogs," I said with another small laugh before I turned my attention to my daughter. "All right, Kiddo," I said. "Let's get you situated into the truck so that you can get ready to leave. Ok?"

"What about me?" Travis asked and looked between Maybell and I.

"Well, you can get yourself into the truck by yourself," Maybell said. "I still need help."

I looked at him and bit back a small smile. "So, go ahead and get yourself into the truck on the other side. Ok?" I asked while I cocked my head and studied him.

Travis nodded and did what he was told to do and walked over to the other side of the truck. He didn't open the door and waited for us to open the door on this side so that we could get Pickles sorted.

"Ok, May, are you ready?" I asked and picked her up, and she nodded in confirmation, and placed her arms around my neck.

"Yes, Ma'am," she said. She got herself situated and was ready to get Pickles if Pickles tried to escape, and I bit back a small sigh of relief.

"I will be right behind you just to make sure that we can get the cat situated," Leslie said with a small laugh in her voice. She moved behind me, and I bit back a small snort and nodded, feeling very relieved.

"Thank you," I said. I shifted my daughter just a tad before I opened the truck door, and thankfully my cat stayed put but looked at us with narrowed eyes. "Ok, Kiddo," I said and opened the door more, subconsciously putting my body against the door as a just in case. "You ready?"

"Yes, Ma'am," she said and nodded. She let go of me and released me with her legs while I set her in her seat. "Don't help me with my seatbelt, please," she said. "I am going to do it."

I bit back a small laugh and nodded, making sure to keep an eye on my cat. "Go ahead and do it then, May," I said. "You can get in, too, Travis."

Travis did what I told him to do and get into the truck while Maybell got herself situated in the seat. "Are you going to grab Pickles?" he asked and looked at me.

I shook my head, no. "Pickles will come when she calls for her," I said. "I'll let May handle it as soon as she is done."

"Ok," May said. She finished getting herself situated and patted her lap. "Come here, Pickles," she said, and I closed the door just a tad to make sure that she wouldn't be able to escape.

Pickles looked at May. She slowly blinked and flicked her tail before she did what she was told to do and hopped into May's lap and laid down.

I breathed a small sigh of relief and closed the truck door before I looked at Leslie. "It's just your basic truck," I said, "and it's also automatic."

Leslie nodded in confirmation. She watched me open the driver's side door and step away. "Is your dog going to escape?" she asked, and I shook my head no.

"She's not going to bite either," I said. "She might hop into your lap, but that is about it. Her name is Tinie."

Leslie bit back a small laugh and slowly nodded. "Ok," she said before she cleared her throat and shifted on her feet. "Now, go ahead, and take care of my sons. I am sure that they are ready to be done with the horses just as much as you." She flashed me a small wink, biting back a small smile.

I bit back a small laugh and nodded. "Ok," I said before I licked my lip and grew serious. "Thank you, Leslie," I said. "I appreciate everything that you have done so far."

Leslie smiled and tucked her head closer to her chest. "Of course, Dear," she said.

And without another word, she got into my truck and I walked over to the other men that had control of my horses.

Here goes nothing...
