VI
The girl, who could be no older than twelve, drew her bow. She notched an arrow and aimed. Then she released.
The arrow sped through the air and hit the man, who fell to his knees, the arrow imbedded in his chest. The boy had short black hair and red eyes. He clawed at the wound, desperately trying to stanch the blood coming out of it, but it was helpless. He tried to call out, but his voice didn't work as he collapsed all of the way to the ground, dead.
The girl's sea green eyes swept the area before she signaled two others.
Two other girls stepped out from the shadows, arrows notched on their bows, before they relaxed and put the arrows back into their quivers.
The three girls quietly jogged through the halls, each stopping every once in a while to shoot a monster or person with a quick arrow.
The first girl got to a door. She looked at the other two girls.
"Percy should already be in there," she whispered. "Remember the plan?"
"Yes," the other two girls replied.
"Good." The first girl then turned around and ran silently in a different direction.
The second girl ran off in a different direction than the first girl.
The third girl took out a lock pick and quickly picked the lock before sneaking inside.
She silently walked inside.
Percy was standing there with something in his hand. He walked over to the girl and handed it to her.
But all of a sudden, alarms rang throughout the building.
The girl's eyes widened in fear but stayed quiet.
Percy, on the other hand, knew that there was no point in silence.
"Go," he said. When the girl didn't move, he shouted, "Go!"
The girl then ran from the room without bothering to keep her footsteps quiet, her dark red hair flowing behind her and her emerald green eyes lighting a path in the dark corridors before her.

The second girl heard the alarms. She immediately pressed up against the wall in the shadows.
She saw the third girl running towards her. The second girl took the papers in her hand and ran. The third girl then took up the third girl's position against the wall. This was the second girl's job; she was the fastest runner. But the third girl had a job too.
She drew her bow, notched an arrow, and waited.
A group of people past by, and the second girl shot. One of the men fell down, an arrow stuck through his head. Then, the second girl ran through a different hallway than the second girl had gone. The man followed her.

The first girl waited.
And waited.
The alarms were going off. There were sounds of fighting. Every once in a while, she would shoot an arrow at a monster passing by, but nothing much happened except for the sound of fighting and constant ringing of alarm bells.
But then two beams of light shone through the night— two eyes. For a moment, the first girl's sea green eyes met with the third girl's yellow eyes that were filled with fear.
The first girl immediately sprung into action. She fired her bow at each person and monster following the second girl that was about to be overrun.
Her sea green eyes filled with rage. She pulled out her knife and walked up to the last man.
"No one hurts my sister," she snarled before plunging the knife into the man's chest.
The girls stared at each other for a second before running into the woods.

Percy was running. He was just running and running and running. He got to the second girl and picked her up, them both knowing that he could run faster even carrying her than her on her own. Percy ran as fast as he could and out of the building.
"They should really get better security if they wanted to be safe," he muttered under his breath.
He got to the woods and set the second girl down.
They hid behind some trees for a few seconds before there was a loud boom!
There was metal flying everywhere. The building was completely and utterly destroyed, along with anything and everyone in it.
Percy turned to the three girls after the explosion ended.
"Are all of you okay?" He asked worriedly. "Alice, Rose, Lizzy? Are you hurt? Injured?"
"I'm not hurt," Lizzy and Rose said at the same time.
"I'm fine," Alice answered. Percy looked to her.
"Uh huh," Percy said. "Sure. First off, don't lie to a protective older brother. Second, when someone says their fine, they really aren't. Trust me. I've used the word enough to know that. I'm fine are the words someone uses when they don't want anyone to know how messed up they really are. Seriously, trust me. I know. Now, where are you hurt?"
Alice reluctantly lifted up her sleeve, which was bloody.
"Tartarus," Percy muttered. "What happened?"
"Someone gave me a nasty cut on my arm. Hurts like Tartarus."
"One, I can tell you it doesn't hurt like Tartarus. The place is terrible. I'm not very fond of the primordial either. Two, give me your arm.
Alice held out her arm and Percy took it gently in his hands.
"This is going to hurt," Percy warned Alice. He cleaned out the wound, and Alice had to force herself not to scream from pain.
"You have yet to feel real pain," Percy said without looking up. "Just another second and. . . done!"
Alice sighed in relief. Percy bandaged up the arm, and the other two girls set up camp and went to hunt for dinner.
"Stay where I can see you," Percy called after them.
"Okay," Rose, replied. They drew their bows and hunted close by.

Percy cooked dinner, which was a rabbit that the two huntresses had produced. They were about to start eating, but then the huntresses noticed the extra plate that Percy had set up.
"Who's that for?" Alice asked.
"It's for a. . . friend of mine." The three girls couldn't help but notice the slight hesitation before the word "friend".
A man appeared. He looked similar to Percy; beautiful.
"Hi, Thanatos." Percy smiled brightly.
"Hi, Percy," Thanatos replied.
Thanatos sat down in front of the extra plate. There was a silence. It was slightly awkward for the three girls, and it only seemed to get more awkward when they realized that Percy and Thanatos seemed comfortable with the silence.
They felt out of place.
They ate their food in silence.
"You three can go to bed," Percy said once he noticed that the three girls were finished eating. "I have to. . . talk to my. . . friend. . . here."
The three girls still noticed the slight hesitations in the sentence, but they didn't mention it as they silently left the room.
After the three girls had left the tent, Percy kissed Thanatos.
"Thanks for coming," Percy said. "I have a lot to tell you. Look at this."
He spread out the thing that they had been searching for.
"It's their secret weapon. They haven't made it yet, they've only made this picture and some models, which we exploded, but these are brilliant!"
Thanatos examined it. "Yes it is," he said. "It's a perfect plan, a perfect weapon. As far as I can tell, anyway."
"No matter what, you haven't planned for everything. Nothing is perfect," Percy muttered under his breath. "But this one was pretty dam close. And they think it was destroyed in the explosion. If we use this plan, they would never expect it. What do you think?"
There was a few moments of silence as Thanatos thought it over. "I think that would work," he said. "But why'd you ask me?" He asked. "I would think Athena would be the obvious choice."
"And when have I every taken the obvious path?" Percy asked, half smiling. He kissed Thanatos again.
"Goodnight," Percy said, lying down in his bed. Thanatos smiled at him.
"Goodnight," Thanatos replied before disappearing again to collect the souls of the dead.
