Primer Día | Sonreía
We finally make our way in from the cold, and of course you have to take the revolving doors; always a child at heart. I smile at you from a distance, but I doubt you notice. Heading to the back of the store one of your friends says he's looking for a cold drink. I make a joke about cracking a cold one with the boys to your friend with the curly hair, I know her better than the others. What he's looking for isn't there, but you seem to take an interest in the colored milk. You take out a blue one, its flavor cotton candy. Of course you decide to buy it, why wouldn't you? A child at heart remember?
I shake my head, but you know I find it endearing. Or do you? Do you know anything about me anymore? Do you care to know anything about me anymore?
We all head to the checkout lines only, we think they're on the opposite side of the store. You almost walk out without paying for your milk, and we all laugh. One of us makes a joke about a sure way for you to be deported and we all laugh again. This time seeing you laugh makes me smile, and I don't think so much about all the times you've laughed because of me, only for me, and it doesn't hurt so much.
What I'd give to see that smile only for me again.
