The thundering of hooves split the silence as a lone stallion complete with rider galloped across the estate. The wind wisped his mane into the air like flames; muscles rippling from under his freshly groomed pelt as his powerful legs propelled him forward and kept him going as he sped across the terrain.

The rider slowed his steed when a scent greeted him that was unlike anything he'd ever encounter before; beguiling and disarming was the only way to describe it. Leaves various shades of reds and oranges kicked up and swirled around him on the fall breeze, the scent becoming stronger.

He simply had to find the source.

The rider shifted his weight; digging a heel into the stallion's right side.

"Faster Debilitas." The rider's deep voice came out austere and clipped as their pace quickened.

Debilitas emitted a whicker, tucking his head in and bounding towards the scent.

In all his years as a vampire Jungkook had never come across anything like the scent which now captivated him, he simply had to discover the reason as to why it did so.

The many yew trees which dotted his estate finally dispersed to reveal a small clearing unfamiliar to him.

"Whoa Debilitas." Jungkook called out; muscular legs applying pressure as he pulled back on the reigns.

A small cottage stood before him, the scent now completely overwhelming.

"Y/N where are you?"

Jungkook dismounted, watching from his position as an older gentleman appeared in the cottage doorway, silver hair sticking up in all directions as though his fingers had run through it multiple times.

"Where are you girl?"

"I'm here grandpa, was picking flowers for the table."

Her voice was akin to the most beautiful of melodies.

Scent sweet yet mixed with exotic spices.

He was drawn to her; enchanted.

A low growl escaped his full lips, fangs revealing themselves.

This wasn't good.

For centuries Jungkook promised himself he wouldn't be a fool like his father, love was a cruel illusion which would only end with heartbreak.

Humans and vampires didn't mix, she wasn't welcome in his world.

Why now? Why after centuries did his mate finally decide to appear?

Why a human?

A vampire was supposed to mate with their own kind, those who mated with a human were disgraced and exiled.

Jungkook would never allow this to happen.
