| Beauty & The Beast | Chapter 16 |
"May I help you?" You inquired, looking at him uneasily. You didn't know what kind of business Piccolo had especially that late at night. You had known he worked at an asylum, so you had no idea what he wanted.
He smirked evilly, as his lips parted to reveal his pearly whites. That grin brought shivers down your spin. "I've come to collect your sister."
Your eyes widened in disbelief, uttering out in confusion and surprise, "M-my sister?!"
"Don't worry. We'll take good care of her."
He moved to the side and you gasped, not believing your very own eyes. The whole town was there with torches engulfing with red hot flames, surrounding a carriage that was meant for individuals heading to the asylum. You were outraged by seeing them all ranting of how crazy your sister was. She wasn't going insane, she simply was more intellectual than most people. Thus this caused you to be mad and speak up to the multitude of people, standing by your doorstep and saying nonsense that wasn't true.
"My sister isn't crazy! You can't just take her away! She has done nothing wrong," Your brows were formed into a frown.
"She was raving like a lunatic!" spoke Puar, gazing around the crowd. "We heard her, didn't we?"
"Yeah!" agreed all.
"No, I won't let you!" You argued, standing in front of the door and blocking the way for them not to get in.
"[F/n]...?" came your sister's voice from inside as she peaked outside thus Puar caught her in sight.
"Bulma, tell us again of what you said. Just how big was the beast?" Puar sarcastically asked, making the people laugh.
"H-he was... He was enormous!" Bulma exclaimed as you held her in your arms. "I'd... I'd say at least eight, no, more like 10 feet!"
"Well, you don't get much crazier than that!" laughed Puar.
"It's true, I tell you! It's the truth!"
Your eyes fell in sadness and anger, seeing all the people laughing at what your sister was saying. They didn't believe her not one bit about the words she was spilling out of the beast. Her words were nothing more, but nonsense to them, only causing them laughter without a single belief. Your sister didn't deserve to be laughed at nor send to an asylum.
"Get her out of here!"
As your heart drummed against your chest, you watched in terror as two men grabbed a hold of your dear sister, taking her by force away from you. "Let go of me! I am not going crazy here, you dimwits!"
"No!" You rushed out in anger to Piccolo only for him to shrug you off. "You can't do this!"
Yamcha, who has been standing against a wall with arms crossed with a smirk on his face, approached you from behind, pretending to show sympathy on his face. "Poor, [F/n]. It's a shame about your sister."
Feeling his heavy arm around your shoulder, you gazed up to him. You didn't like him one bit, but took this as a slight hope that maybe, just maybe, he can help you save your sister. Grabbing onto his shirt, you pleaded. "You know she's not crazy, Yamcha."
"Hmm..." He hummed as if in thought. "I might be able to clear up this little misunderstanding if..."
You slightly furrowed, not liking where this was going, "If what....?"
"If you marry me," He brought you closer to him, grabbing your chin and lifting it up close to him, while you disliked the close distance.
"What?" You uttered.
"One little word, [F/n]. And you sister will be set free."
"Never!" You pushed him away. As much as you wanted your sister to be free, you would never get as low as marrying that brute.
Yamcha growled and frowned. His plan backfired. He was certain that taking your sister away would have made you agree with the marriage, but that plan didn't work at all. You still refused his proposal. "Have it your way."
"[F/n]?" Your sister called out for you, turning to look at you over her shoulder, but the two men holding her didn't allow her to glance at you completing, causing Bulma to frown in anger and made an attempt to break free but with no luck. "Let go of me! I haven't done anything wrong, you jerks! Let me go!"
'What should I do? What -' Then suddenly you remembered the mirror Vegeta had given you. It was the only way for them to let Bulma go; by showing them the beast through the magic mirror. Immediately, you turned around and ran into the small cabin to grab it.
"My sister's not crazy and I can prove it!" You yelled out to the crowd as you came back out, catching their attention and Yamcha's too. Bringing the mirror up, reflecting your own image upon it, you exclaimed, "Show me the beast." Before you turned it around as it glowed brightly, showing the beast, Vegeta, yowling.
The people gasped in terror as Yamcha as well was surprised and then frowned.
"Is it dangerous?" Someone from the crowd shouted.
"Oh, no, no, he'd never hurt anyone," You replied, walking down to the people with Yamcha simply staring at you. "Please, I-I know he looks vicious, but he's really kind and gentle." You voice soften, gazing to the mirror with a soft expression.
Yamcha raised a brow, seeming to understand that you developed a stronger emotion towards that beast. He didn't like that, not one bit.
"He's my friend."
"If I didn't know better," He grabbed your shoulders, turning you around to face his angry expression. "I'd think you had feelings for this monster."
You pulled yourself away from his grasp, holding close the mirror to your chest, disliking what he said and denied it, "He's no monster, Yamcha. You are!"
The male growled, clenching his jaw tight. Yamcha couldn't believe what was occurring. The woman he had loved since the moment he saw her had fallen for a monster instead of him, and now you were defending the beast as well. It was enough for Yamcha to snap. "Well you look at this; she's as crazy as the other wench!" He took a hold of the mirror and took it away from your hands, turning towards the crowd of people. "The beast will make off with your children. He'll come after them in the night!"
The people gasped in horror as the mothers held tightly to their children.
"No!" You exclaimed.
"We're not safe till his head is mounted on my wall! I say we kill the beast!" The mirror flickered and flared like lightening as Yamcha moved it up in the air.
"Yeah!" The crowd yelled in agreement.
"We're not safe until he's dead." Conversed, sang, a male to his other companions.
"He'll come stalking us at night." Sang another.
"Set to sacrifice our children to his monstrous appetite," Spoke a woman to another two.
"He'll wreak havoc on our village if we let him wander free."
Yamcha grabbed a torch and began to voice out the tune to everyone there, "So it's time to take some action, boys. It's time to follow me." He threw the torch, flaming up a large amount of dried hay.
"Through the mist,
through the woods
through the darkness
and the shadows
it's a nightmare, but
it's one exciting ride."
Yamcha began to chase a scared Puar before he hid behind a lady, but Yamcha brought him out only for him to fall on his behind.
"Say a prayer,
then we're there
at the drawbridge of a castle
and there's something
truly terrible inside."
Yamcha brought him close, bringing out the mirror to show Puar Vegeta through it.
"It's a beast!
He's got fangs,
razor sharp ones.
Massive paws,
killer claws for the feast,"
The male strolled away, doing different stances to pretend to act like the beast in order to scare the people.
"Hear him roar,
see him foam.
But we're not coming home
till he's dead.
Good and dead!"
Yamcha screamed out, lifting up the magical mirror as the townsfolk raised their torches and pitchforks, yelling out in agreement with him. "Kill the beast!"
"No!" You ran towards Yamcha, grabbing his hand that had the mirror, "I won't let you do this!"
Yamcha grabbed your wrist forcefully, pulling you away. "If you're not with us, you're against us. Bring the other wench!"
"Get your hands off of me!" Bulma argued before they threw here in a basement.
"We can't have them running off to warn the creature," said Yamcha, bringing you along as he threw you in with your sister.
"Let us out!" You yelled, trying to open the basement, but to no avail.
"We'll rid the village of the beast! Who's with me?"
"I am! I am!" The people spoke.
"Light your torch,
mount your horse."
Yamcha got onto a horse, holding onto the magical mirror.
"Screw your courage
to the sticking place."
He began to stroll away on his stallion with a huge crowd following behind him.
"We're counting on Yamcha
to lead the way."
"Through a mist,
to a wood
where within a haunted castle
something's lurking that you don't see every day."
"It's a beast!
One as tall as a mountain.
We won't rest
till he's good and deceased."
"Sally forth, tally-ho
grab your sword and your bow.
Praise the lord
and here we go."
The horse neigh, as Yamcha smirked, looking at the crowd, "We'll lay siege to the castle and bring back his head!"
