Sombre grey clouds floated above in the sky and a chilly wind blew unceasing. Everything looked brighter. The trees and the many plants in the well groomed gardens appeared greener than usual and the colourful houses radiant. This was the work of last night's rain shower. The road and the pavements were still wet from the rain and seemingly empty. The silence rang through the air.
And then as if on cue the sound of a huge delivery truck bellowed through the neighbourhood. The truck stopped in front of the white mansion at the end of the road and a Prius entered the driveway to the old but recently renewed mansion. A man in Bermuda shorts and sports t-shirt got out of the car followed by a woman in a wraparound dress. A kid of about eight sprang out of the backseat and slammed the door hard. The woman glared at the kid; calling after him as he ran off towards the house with a toy gun in his hand. Another boy got out of the car, he was older, probably 17. With tousled auburn hair, ocean blue eyes and an athletic build any one would be able to tell that he was definitely an A-lister at his previous school and no doubt he was soon going to be the It boy of Clairview High.
In another corner of the small town of Clairview, Madison Reed and her two best friends slash sidekicks sat in Madison's bed contemplating over the dresses they had bought the other day; not able to decide on the one dress that they would wear to Clairview High's start of the session Masquerade Ball. The ball was a month away but of course they had to plan it all in advance , after all Madison was the queen bee and she was starting her senior year at Clairview High tomorrow, she had to look fabulous, she had to be the It girl of the ball. And on top of this was the headache of choosing the perfect outfit to wear to school tomorrow, the first day of senior year. So much to do and so little time left.
About a ten minute drive from Clairview was where Beastie Curthwright lived. Her Family farmhouse stretched over a large span of land and was well hidden behind huge trees that lined up on either side of the road from Clairview. Her family had lived in the house opposite Madison Reed in the heart of Clairview but after the incident they had moved out to this secluded region. But of course they got their every need from Clairview. . Not a very big deal. There were other huge farmhouses too but most of them were for sale or simply empty.
She was sitting at her window side table arranging the photos in her photography class portfolio absentmindedly as she stared out of the window, looking at the brilliant greenness of the trees and the birds chirping away happily even on such a gloomy day. She felt a little unnerved from the fact that tomorrow new sessions would begin at Clairview High and the photography class would no longer be empty. She would have to keep the hood on for the entire length of the class again. Beastie was homeschooled. Her love for photography had been so great that despite everything her parents had enrolled her in the photography class that took place at Clairview High every summer break
Oh there is so much more to know about this people and of course so much to see.
