As you tightened the grip you had around the bento in your hands, you stepped through the doorway into classroom 2. You only stopped and looked around quickly, paused with sagged shoulders when realising the delightful girl whom you were searching for wasn't inside.

You had looked down to make yourself known to a small group of girls seated around a single desk by the door. The girl who was speaking stopped when she saw you and smiled kindly as she wondered why you were there.

"Uh, sorry, I was wondering where Kiy-Shimizu-san was..?"

Another girl spoke up when you said that name, smiling as she looked up at you, "Oh, Shimizu-san left when the bell rang, she must've gone to the volleyball gym."

"Oh yeah, she's there a lot, isn't she?"

The girl seated across from her waved her hand dismissively and nodded, speaking as if she was stating the obvious, "Well, yeah, she is the manager of the boys volleyball club~ have you seen those guys? I would've signed up too if she didn't."

You listened from the outside, looking at each of the girls as they spoke to one another as if you had vanished and your eyes widened at this new information. It was most likely those boys that you had met the day before, the three third years and those two second years you met through Shimizu. Nevertheless, you weren't too fond of the smirk that girl wore as she spoke, sitting laid-back against the chair with her legs crossed, "Oh that's so true! Some of those guys are seriously hot!"

"And if they're not hot, they're so adorable!"

"Kiyoko is a lot smarter and a lot more sneaky that I thought!" They kept talking without any regard to you and you slowly began fuming. Not because of the fact that they practically forgot you were there nor was it because of the fact that they believed Shimizu joined to talk to more attractive guys. It was because of the way they were speaking about her.

"Um, excuse me-"

They looked at you again simultaneously, "Oh my gosh! I'm so sorry, I totally forgot you were there!" A fake smile formed on your lips, "Yeah I noticed, I'd appreciate if you didn't speak so negatively of Shimizu-san, okay? She's an amazing and pretty girl, she's too kind and passionate about the team to be thinking of something as vulgar as that."

Leaving the girls to stare daggers at you, you stared back defiantly and then left through the door you came in and then marched through the halls to find the outside, walking the pathway to the gym where you heard yells coming from the inside that echoed. You didn't hesitate, too full of annoyance towards those girls from Shimizu's class to bother with the nerves of meeting new people and then the door was opened, pushed open with your palm and a bunch of eyes found you, silent as they wondered what you came for.

"Oh, it's you-"

"[Name]-san."

Shimizu found you quickly, speed walking towards you and relief flooded your system when all negative emotions were immediately dispersed at the sight of her marvellous orbs that were on you and only you, "So-sorry for the.. interruption.. I hope you ha-haven't eaten cause I uh.."

No one moved as you spoke and their eyes were beginning to feel like sticks, trying to push you out when you wanted to keep your feet still in the spot in front of her; Shimizu. This resplendent girl who looked at you innocently, waiting for you to speak and complete your sentence with two glowing eyes that had you entranced and suddenly feeling as if your tongue was going to disallow the actions of speaking.

"I made you this bento!"

She flinched and looked at the bento you had gotten for her. Her eyes fidgeting from the lunch and then to your eyes when her cheeks grew the brightest of reds and you noticed her beginning to fidget with her hands when her breathing began to elevate, "I'm sorry, I can't."

"Yo-... You can't?" None of the members of the team could see the look on their managers face when her back was facing them but they could all see the clear display of distress and fright on your face. Two trembling hands brought the bento back into yourself and you took a shaky step back, tempted to run away to avoid the look on her face.

How she looked at you so sad and frowning when it was you that deserved to feel like that.

"Okay.."

She stepped closer, appearing stubborn all of a sudden when you flinched a little, looking down to avoid the look of her amazingly divine eyes that stared at you in such a sad way, "[Name-"

"No, it's alright, I'm sorry.. I guess, I jus-just thought..? M-maybe we could've.. go-gotten closer.." Each stutter that was spoken only emphasised the pain that grew because it wasn't just a bento to you, it wasn't just a forty minute lunch where you could watch her eat, hopefully enjoy the food you made for her.

It was the act of getting closer to her, the act of filling the immense space in your heart that was labelled 'unrequited love' and making it different, removing the space that grew overtime you were with her or saw her to make it just go away.

You never wanted to fall this hard because everyone knows that if you don't fall then you won't get hurt.

But alas, your optimistic and love-filled mind made yourself believe that she was into you and it didn't matter if it was only as a friend because there was still always a chance it could develop into something more, something so damned beautiful that you could've considered yourself the happiest girl by the side of the most enticing girl you'd ever seen.

The steps taken to the exit behind you were increasing just as the steps she'd take to you also did. You refused to look her in the eyes and you didn't want to talk because of the constriction in your throat, the pain that expanded in your chest.

perhaps making her a bento disgusted her, especially since its from another girl

The seemingly perfect girl was glum, unaware of what she had done to get such a reaction out of you and just as she was about to speak, you'd left with a couple of retreating words,

"It's alright, I'll be leaving now."

Hinata, Kageyama and Daichi, Asahi and Sugawara approached their manager, wondering what had happened and how it escalated like that. Kiyoko wouldn't speak though, she was confused and pondering the immeasurable heartache she was experiencing.

"Kiyoko-san, what happened, are you alright?"

Kageyama was the first to speak, unaware of who the other girl was or what was happening in front of him but he could still decipher the sadness on his team managers face.

Daichi and Sugawara frowned at the false smile she put on her face, reassuring the team she treasured as they walked away to continue practise, "It's alright, Kageyama-kun. Don't let me distract you from practise."

Her smile didn't reach her eyes. Even Kageyama had noticed something was off but he sought guidance when taking a quick glance to Sugawara. The grey-haired senpai only gave him a smile, reassuring and kind which made Kageyama leave as he took Hinata with him to perform some more sets and spikes.

Tanaka and Nishinoya watched the entire interaction from the side, both crossing their arms with a glare as they frowned heavily whilst their precious senpai was upset. Daichi stayed there and Sugawara approached her as with Asahi, both of them wondering why she could've reacted in that way.

"Kiyoko-san, what happened?" Sugawara spoke softly, looking at her with a tender stare that made her speak quietly and timidly, "I was.. I was embarrassed and I was happy.. I didn't mean to do that, I don't understand either."

This time her face was stoic though her voice was also soft and Asahi couldn't help frowning, unaware of what he could say to make her feel better, "I-I'm sure everything will be okay, Kiyoko-san.."
