Yasashii is described as a very passive aggressive young girl who will do absolutely anything to get the job done without nothing getting in the way. She may also have trust issues, but that doesn't mean she has no intention to disobey her orders. Trust me, she's someone that nobody wants to mess with. However, if you do come to her good side, then Yasashii is very loyal, overprotective, and compassionate towards her friends and companions. She doesn't wanna admit it, but she does indeed have a soft spot for those that she cares for deeply.

Phoenix Breathing was derived from Flame Breathing, which mimics the Phoenix, a legendary bird. The technique mimics its graceful movements yet it delivers powerful strikes. Like Flame Breathing, the strikes are supposed to almost burn the enemy.

Backstory
Yasashii lived a pretty rough childhood. Her father, Tatsuya, was never kind to her that he forced her to do all the chores and take care of the family, yet he still loved her two older siblings, Ayuna and Suzaku. The three of them were inseparable growing up that they formed a very close bond. The mother, Yasuno, was the only one who accepted her younger daughter and made sure that Tatsuya would never harm her.

Before she was even born, her grandmother, Tomomi, was one of the strongest demon slayers that ever lived and did everything she can in order to protect herself and others from danger, plus she was even close to be ranked as the Phoenix Hashira. However, the woman couldn't live any longer and died from an illness that made her weak, terribly sick, and fragile.

Yasashii's family were poor, but they lived a good life, but not her. Thanks to her father for putting too much pressure onto her, he was the reason why she developed the dangerous anger that she had kept inside. She insisted that she can sell her brother's homemade mitarashi dango to earn money so she can help her family without having any struggles.

That wasn't the case though, because her life changed when the day happened. Ever since Tomomi passed away, Yasashii and the rest of her family has been hearing from their neighbors that demons has unexpectedly been lurking in the village that they were living in. One day when Yasashii was coming home from the market after buying warm clothes and food, she found her house destroyed and quickly rushed to see what happened. She barged in and found her mother and two siblings brutally killed and eaten, but she eventually found out that her father had ran off and failed to protect them, which caused her burning rage to build up even more.

After burying their bodies and prayed for them to be freed and live a peaceful life, Yasashii took everything she needed and abandoned her home to find someone to help her. Day after day, she was exhausted, hungry, and unable to sleep from all this traveling. However, her life changed again when Rengoku found her and took her in to his estate. She couldn't thank him enough for helping her, but he only laughed and gave the red haired girl a simple head pat.

After meeting Rengoku's Tsuguko, who was the Love Hashira; Mitsuri Kanroji, the three of them instantly became best friends and trained together. Yasashii was having major difficulties with trying to master Flame Breathing, but with her frustrations, she felt like giving up. However, Mitsuri was there to help out and gave her a few tips on her body movements.

During Final Selection, Yasashii found herself cornered by a few demons and seemed like it was about to be over, but as she made the first move to fight, Yasashii discovered that she used the second form of a new breathing style, which she named it Phoenix Breathing. Once the seven day test was completed, Yasashii officially became the new member of the Demon Slayer Corps and swore revenge on the demon who killed her entire family, along with living a new life without having to suffer from the hands of the sorry excuse of her father.
