2: The Wicked Witch
Matteo's POV
It has been a week since I started working for, "The Wicked Bitch of the West" as most of my coworkers called her in private. Although we hadn't had any full conversations yet, I had learned two things about the woman:
One, she doesn't sleep. It doesn't matter what time of the night it is; the woman has no problem calling me to pick up some documents, clothing samples, or photos. At this point I've gotten well acquainted with the living room, kitchen, and home office of Emilia Jade Auclair Park.
And two she has absolutely no filter. I've had heard more insults in the past week spew from Emilia's mouth than I've heard in my entire life. I have also seen a lot of tears on the receiving end of her insults that my boss didn't seem to care much about. If she even cared at all.
One thing I have not yet managed to learn yet though, is how she managed to get someone of the human species to put a ring on her finger. I hadn't met the man, but he had to be just as crazy as her to want to marry her. No one in their right mind would voluntarily vow to spend every waking moment loving that woman. Maybe it was just that. The poor fool was out of his mind. Or maybe she had another side to her that only came out around loved ones.
At first it wasn't something I cared to invest my time into wondering, but after doing some digging on the woman in an attempt to understand her better, I changed my mind.
Despite her terrible demeanor, people seemed to loved her. Emilia didn't just own companies, she had millions of followers obsessed with her every move. She had power and she knew exactly what to do with it. It didn't take long to figure that out.

"I'm Justin Smith and on today's episode of 'Boys In Business,' we have a very special guest." The interviewer begins. "Emilia Jade Auclair Park. The 22-year-old influencer and founder of Jades & Emeralds. An eco-friendly clothing company that everyone is talking about. It's nice to have you, Emilia."
"I'm sure it is," Emilia responds dully.
Justin lets out an awkward laugh. "Did you know that you're the first female guest we've ever had on the show?"
"So, I've heard."
"Um... why don't- why don't we just get started with some questions? What's something someone told you that you'll never forget?"
Emilia paused to think. Her mother's words played in her head, "Calculate before speaking."
"Both of my parents taught me from an early age never to apologize unless I meant it."
"But you're infamous for never apologizing."
"Because I'll never truly mean it."
Justin just chuckled and shifted uncomfortably in his seat, "Why do you consider that important?"
"Both of my parents' motives for saying it were different."
"Oh yeah? What were they?"
"My father didn't want me to apologize because he didn't want people to think they could take advantage of me. My mother didn't want me to apologize because she wanted me to take advantage of people."
"That doesn't make sense. How would you take advantage of people by not apologizing?"
"If I apologized for everything I'm deemed as a pushover. If I don't, I'm a bitch. At least if I'm a bitch I don't have to work for people's validation. At the end of the day, I'm rich, I'm successful, and people seek my approval. Not the other way around. Wouldn't you say that gives me the advantage?"
"What about that time you accidentally almost ran over Jason Vitaly with your car? You didn't apologize then but you almost killed him."
"Oh, that was most definitely on purpose."
"Wait, what?" The interviewer looked at the camera nervously but the director didn't know what to do either.
"He's a racist, misogynistic man who thought it would be cute to grab my ass and call me Ms.Ling-Ling. The only reason he's unharmed right now is because a bee decided to land in my car. I named him B-Eazy," Emilia deadpanned. Crossing her legs and flipping her bone straight hair over her shoulder she said, "Next question."
"Uh- Who- who's your biggest inspiration in life?"
"Myself."
"To who do you owe your success?"
"Myself."
"Is there anyone you would want to work with in the future?"
"Myself."
Emilia's agent budded in before more questions could be asked. "Smile a bit more for the camera, Ms.Jade."
She turned to lock eyes with the nervous middle-aged man. A small formed on her face. "Why?"
"Well, um... It'll- It'll gain you more support if you come off as friendly so-"
"But, I'm not..." she paused, "friendly."
"I- I know but yo-"
"Why does my smile determine the worth of my words?"
"What?"
"You're fired. Did that seem 'friendlier'?" Her insincere smile grew as the man stood frozen in shock. "Moving along."
