lonesome girl: a slam poem
lonesome girl: a slam poem
"You read your line so cleverly and never missed a cue. Then came act two, you seemed to change and you acted strange"
Lonesome girl,
You put on a show for everyone to see,
A show that is one act, one that ends the same.
Lonesome girl,
You are held down by shackles, unable to be free.
Free from the burden of grief and sadness.
Lonesome girl,
The tears that stream down your face,
Why do you cover them up with a mask?
Lonesome girl,
It is okay to grieve over the loss of someone,
You miss them,
You lost a part of you.
Lonesome girl,
The show is coming to an end.
What will you do?
Lonesome girl,
Take off your mask,
It is okay, to get up and leave,
From your own performance.
