Jimin's pov.
Seokjin was back at the Kims mansion, but this time his walk this time inside our home wasn't blossoms and honey but slow heavy cold wind as if thwarted by world. His all glow turned into void.
Taehyung saw it so could I. We were too much anxious for his hauntingly quiet state. He did something unforgiving and it's remorse was as clear as day sky, growing on his skin, wrenching his thoughts but neither his tongue would speak of it sorting everything out nor Taehyung would come up from his broken defeated state and accept the situation—forget and forgive for the sake of their lovely relation that each day seemed to only tear apart.
He would still coldly stand far away, his eyes demanding for reason behind his played love while Seokjin in the other corner, eyes guzzling on the floor that his deep shadow under eyes would be seen more prominent, hollow, filled with sadness.
“Seokjin is back! Aah thank god. Now everything will be fine.” We heard a bold echo of Namjoon as he walked to us with his deep dimpled smile, a book in his hand thrown on the sofa.
Taehyung glanced at the beauty beside him apparently looking all alone, and inhaled asking question in very clueless way “Will it?” then he looked at Namjoon with a very skeptic eyes later chuckled coldly.
“It won't.” the youngest male between them spoke in very softest manner but that was heard by his husband's sharp ears who's heart churned inside. Taehyung's lips sealed in tight line “Go to your room.” He ordered.
Seokjin walked away like a free bird fluttering out of cage, needless to say which room he was suppose to dwell in, whatever it would be, shall be four walls with no glimpse of his husband.
Taehyung watched Seokjin, running away, avoiding the eyes of the three men. “Hyung do you need tea?” Brother shook his head, my eyes drifted to our oldest brother who smiled and denied before I could ask.
“Joon hyung you were out for work, when you did come home here?” I asked as the silence shuffled around, I wanted to walk into my room and lock it, sleeping the heaviness away but seeing our oldest hyung here rather in his own newly bought house was rare but very pleasant. His new home is in outskirts of our town, something very of our hyung, lonely place with woods to accompany was an idea he fancied.
“Maybe an hour ago.” he answered.
I turned to my brother “Hyung, seokjin's wound isn't well dressed, his mother did tend it but with a very distracted mind. The blood didn't seem to stop, the cold from the whole journey might've troubled it more to sting.” his eyes showed a hint of worry that couldn't be masked but the body of his wouldn't move.
“What wound?” Namjoon stepped in.
“Seokjin got bitten by some wild dog.”
“Order the maids to do it.” Taehyung said it in a very half hearted way.
“But hyung, maids aren't here, I guess by now they are aware of loosing their jobs.”
“Then you do it.” he exhaustingly let out. “My body would never move to see him.”
“He wouldn't let me touch his wound, hyung. He stayed far away from me during the whole ride here. For a moment let yourself forget everything and tend his wound, his skin might get severe infection in that.” I walked to the drawer and gave him the first aid kit.
He glanced at the antiseptic bottle in my hand with medicine box, sighing in defeat, he took it from my hand walking upstairs.
---
As Taehyung touched the door to knock on, it creeked open, getting the view of Seokjin's back, sitting on the bed, drawing careless circles on the sheet. Older knocked on the door to gain his wife's attention, who's back tensed and swiftly whipped his head, hairs flying on his face roughly.
His doe eyes fainted away an unknown panic and stood on his feet, only to wobble back and forth. “Sit down, I'm here just see your wound.” Taehyung spoke without his eyes reaching to seokjin, he closed the door behind and walked forward to male still standing. Taehyung stood taller before him and glanced at the troubled eyes “Would you sit down?”
Seokjin nodded, obeying. He watched his husband getting on his knees before him and curling his fingers around the ankle, placing his injured leg gently on his knee. He rolled up the slacks that had patch of blood. Indeed the wound was carelessly dressed, in a very discomforting way.
Silence swirled heavily and Seokjin bit his lips, seeing the jaw shut of his husband, no plan to melt and speak. He tilted his head to see how his husband's cheekbones protruded more to show the slight loss of weight with his eyes, red dead rim around. His mouth won't break into smile or slightest twitch, very stoic, enough to pull the distress out of him for being given silent treatment.
“Don't feel that you must leave me at my parents home? I am a trouble.” Seokjin spoke his eyes softly watching Taehyung.
There was no change but a subtle hint of thunder on older's face. His face broke for very tarty faint smile “So you can do whatever your rusty heart would say? Commit something very bitter, hide it from your husband, parents, eventually run away. Is it what you want to be left alone for? To be able to freely continue your hideous?”
Seokjin sourly inhaled but calmly said. “Leaving me would be much easier than to endure pain I seem to give, wouldn't it?”
“Leaving you? Not until you speak. You owe my heart a reason. And you have this word leave-leave-leave alot in your mouth, don't you? Are you really this anguished to leave me?” A very brutal thump hit against the ribcage when Taehyung asked this, he had to scream at his heart for being so fragile to somebody so heinous. He could physically feel the suffer in heart.
“I would prefer death than to leave you.” Seokjin whispered, letting out shuddered breath and closed his eyes when he felt supple run of fingers around his ankle.
“In this all, you're slaying me, Seokjin. I am not a man of heart, I never ever wanted to get into this bound call love but all the strings broke when I saw you and had me firm on marrying you, share my love with you. This isn't me, Seokjin—heavily carry shattered pieces of heart. Weep when no eyes on me, get lost in time and thoughts for a mere person who came in my life and now hurts from than I can endure. You aren't at the stage to be called mere—you control this heart of mine and I could happily let you however didn't bargain to see you burning it all to ash. Who gave you permission to destroy it? And then try to run away without giving any darn clue on if I was at fault or I mistook you as soulmate.”
Seokjin panted even when the lines of words and questions were thrown by his husband. “You're being silent again.” Taehyung bored his eyes into his wife's soul “This silence can make me very violent if I didn't have love for you.” Younger looked away.
A small tear sparkled in the corner of Taehyung's eye who waited for any sort of answer or a pair of eyes to find an answer within but his long stare would greet hidden face of Seokjin.
“Seokjin, what has become of us?” he deeply gazed as his deep hollow voice questioned. Seokjin opened his eyes and looked at him, his eyes shivering.
“Though I promised every huddles shall be crossed with our hands locked together in love; it is getting hard now, it suffocates me. How long shall we hold onto? You are stingy with conversation and without it we won't come to any term of peace. What shall be done in this then, you say, hm?” he placed his hand ghostly on Seokjin's lap with a tremble in fingers when his wife's skin and clothes were cold. “Broken can't walk too far, Seokjin-ah. Either fix it or abandon.” he lowered his head.
“Taehyung-ssi, please don't let go.” Seokjin whispered. “Even when I am not around. Don't give up.” Taehyung lifted his head, his brows twitched and his fingers curled Seokjin's shirt, he sucked a deep breath and lifted himself up with one hand.
“You aren't going anywhere unless you chose to say.” Taehyung declared in his cold tone, leaving the perfectly dressed wound with one glance.
He picked up the used cottons and everything, turning to walk out. “Even if I say, will you be able to leave me?” Seokjin questioned. Taehyung turned statue for a moment.
“I never thought of our separation.” Taller male turned on his heels “and it is not in my hands to keep you or let you go just like how my love didn't have control, in the end, you did what you wanted to. In this I will stand far away and leave it all to you. Go or stay both will never harm my already dead heart.
All I want to hear is just a reason for where did we fail our l-love?” He sealed his mouth when words started to break. “Then I can mend the pieces while it can and ready to keep you. And you decide everything. I have strength in my beating organ to watch you go.” He gnashed his teeth anxiously, frustratingly, taking steps back and turning around to dash out.
---
Taehyung swiped threw away every files, penholder and things from the table, landing on floor. His employees heard a big thud that came from the paper weight breaking into pieces, they came running to find the door locked.
Taehyung heard footsteps gathering before his door, he pushed his hairs back and calmed his raged pants “Get back to work, alot of you.” he roared.
A big sharp exhale and he dropped on chair. His coat barely hanging on his wide shoulders, showing his white shirt that had few splashes of ink and wrinkles.
Somebody knocked on door following a voice. “Taehyung-ah it's me, open the door.” said name calmed his mind subtly and wiped his dry cheeks, in case another tears rolled down without his knowledge.
“Come in.”
Namjoon walked to see Taehyung crouched gathering files from the floor. Joon saw the red nose glistening, the tremor in fingers and disheveled hairs could speak of his inner tensions, less to say.
“Taehyung, workers in the mill panicked over the loud voice coming through here. Did you fall? Aah, you are drunk!” he exclaimed in disbelief as Taehyung reeked of strong drink. “during work time, Taehyung?” He watched his younger cousin collect all the files and trying best to stand up without the use of those busy loaded hands, trembling on his heels.
Drunk man dropped all the things on table with loud noise and looked at his brother emitting a big sigh. “Here in the shelf, I saw this half filled bottle.” he pointed behind with his thumb. “It looked lonely, so did I...” he chuckled. “Besides I can't pay attention to work anymore, hyung. This all burden lying here used to fancy me but...” he picked up a file and slapped back on the table.
“I was made for this! Loads of work, earning in handsome, taking care of my family, their needs, make a big name. Twirl around costly coats in morning go to work and come back in evening, another day the same. I liked it this way, busy life but then I say yes to someone, a permission for him to enter in my life.
Fucking owns everything and then w-hat?” he gulped a big spat of cry, causing his voice to break, his face distorted as he laughed stingingly “He annihilates everything as if nobody would be ask him. Why me, hyung?” he turned on his heels, showing his back when the question he asked got nothing but silence. “Never I found love in someone, it was my first.” he turned back swiftly and held Joon's shoulders.
“What if he'd leave me?” the fear soared in his eyes casted more despair than stars in night sky. “I don't deserve all, do I?” he smiled as he asked.
“If you could see yourself in mirror, you would want to destroy.” Older softly spoke, trying to place his hand on shoulder who backed off with a hiss.
“You didn't answer my question.” he ran his fingers through hairs, wiping sweat from forehead and placed hand on chest feeling thumps.
“All questions are about to be answered, my brother.” Namjoon stepped in front, his eyes ignited a spark. Taehyung turned around leaving his chest and looked into his eyes who placed his hand on his shoulder, his chin tilted up and a smirk. “I found the whereabouts of Soobin.”
----
This way Taehyung's drunken state dissolved. “Are you sure he will be here?”
“Let us put faith to the news we've found. If not then one day he shall.” Namjoon hummed, they were on their stud stallion, waiting before a very old two story rickety house, covered with ivy vines and green marsh, pieces falling from places, displaying bricks and stones for bugs to crawl around.
Faintly wolves howling could be heard from woods around the house. The smell of cold thick nature hit their noses. “Is this house occupied? Looks so aged.” Taehyung asked and got answer when the dainty door of house opened.
He tilted his head to see an old man getting out, throwing the used water on weeds, he turned around on his bent back but halted, squinting eyes when he sighted two men on horses. “Hello, two gentlemen, do you need help?”
Namjoon dropped his feet on ground, and walked to the old guy, Taehyung following him behind. “Would you mind sir if we ask something?” Kim asked.
Old man politely shook his head and smiled “I won't unless you ask for this house or land. I won't sell it. Many riches like you would come to this outskirt and ask for my land for your mills. I won't.”
Namjoon rolled his eyes subtly but maintained his smile.“I didn't come for that.” Old guy scurried his eyes on the tall figure and then on the another one behind him.
“Come inside, it's brutal weather outside. I shall offer you both hot tea.”
“Thank you but just take my question offer me an answer and we will leave.” The old man nodded, his eyes landed back on male standing far behind, he took his unsteady steps towards him.
His eyes lit up. “You are Kim Taehyung, aren't you?” He smiled, showing barely few teeth.
“Yes I am sir.” Old man clasped his hands. “Oh my pitiful eyes, I couldn't properly see you. My my! What a man you are. Every person of this town sweetens when they mention you. I must say, you are admirable. Please step into my house and sit with me.”
Taehyung humbly smiled. “Next time, I promise.”
Namjoon coughed a little before asking. “I heard Choi Soobin stayed here with you. Is it true?”
Old man opened his mouth. “Ah! Him. Yes he did.” both Kims looked at each other with blinkless eyes. “He did stay here for days. Poor lad came shivering through the white winds, saying he needed shelter and warmth. I denied that stranger, besides never seen him in this town but he offered his shiny ring and so I let him in.”
“Where is he now?” Taehyung took a desperate step forward hovering over old man, his eyes with spark. Discomforted man chuckled and moved back. “He isn't here. Two days ago, he wished to have chicken stew, handed me penny for ingredients, I headed to market, came back to an empty house. He was never seen since then. Couldn't even thank him.”
Taehyung cussed.
“I think you badly want him although I can't say where he went but he kept saying, he shall stand with weapon before the man that is dubious. He wouldn't say his name but curse.” Tae clicked his tongue and stomped back to his horse.
“Thank you for giving us your time. If he ever comes back here, write letter to Taehyung, you know his address, right?”
“Yes I do sir.” Old man's eyes turned dark and walked to Taehyung “If you find him, you shouldn't provoke him. He said his declined love caused him to build stoic blade inside him, stabbing to those who tease it.” he warned in whisper. “You are man with blessings of people from this town and married to a lovely too. Better stay away from him.”
“So you mean he's dangerous?” Taehyung asked in skeptic, not a hair on his body moved when the warning was put forth. His anger engulfed him more to get that man in his claws. There was a humongous confident in him that Soobin can't overpower him and shall be thrashed black and blue.
Old man shook his head, leaning forward “No sir, somebody with him is dangerous.”
