We were finally in Nacarene City! It was really gorgeous, but what can you say about the city of art? I think Ash could not care less... All he wanted was a gym battle! To my relief, the gym was fused with a museum! "Wait, what is this?" I asked at a moment, looking at a sign at the door. "I think it's closed!" Iris said. Ash was furious. "I wanna challenge the nacarene gym right now! hello? anyone there?" he asked. i stared at him. did he sereousley expect someone to be there? he went and knocked on the door. "uh, hello?" he tried opening the door. "ash!" i screamed. "we can always come back later!" that was when we saw a poster for an ancient artifacts exhibit. "looking at the dates, it's today!" cilan exclaimed. "what does that "mean?" i asked. why would it be closed? Things had been calm for a breif moment when suddenly... "AAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!!!" "What in the-?" I suddenly said. The doors flung open and a guy fell through the doors and onto the floor. He seemed like a museum attendant, but I felt like as soon as those doors had opened, some strange, scared feeling just wafted over me. Ash looked over at me. "Um, Crystal? Are you ok?" "Oh? Yeah, I am just fine!" I lied. "Chewpah..." Pachirisu said knowingly. If anybody felt my pain, it was her. Cilan walked up to the man who just fell on the floor. "Sir! Are you all right?" The guy got up a little bit. "In there! It's horrible!" I glanced at the hallway. It seemed fine, but I could not get the weird feeling out of me. Iris was the first to speak up. "Is something wrong with the hallway?" "No, it's fine. The dome fossil was chasing me." Ash and Iris were very concerned. "Whoa, a dome fossil?" "It was chasing you?" "How did it happen?" I asked. "But, I don't see a thing!" Cilan explained. "Oh, it's there alright!" the man protested. We wet into the museum and there was the dome fossil, right on it's stand. "This is starting to get a little creepy..." I pointed out. Pachirisu nodded.

Later we discovered that after the workers rushed to finish the displays for the artifacts exhibit, and the museum attendant was checking all of the artifacts, the lights flickered out. After that, he heard footsteps coming from behind. I found the whole story very spooky, but i did not interrupt. After the footsteps, he heard some ghostly cry. Later, there had been a ghostly aura. The attendant rushed toward the door. The workers came back, and they searched the whole museum. Unfortunately, nobody found anything, and they had to close the exhibit. The attendant searched the museum, just in case, when he found the dome fossil. After the story was finished, I was pretty scared. Okay, so I never liked ghost stories. But this was real! "I'll tell you, weird things can happen." Ash said. Then Iris said she thought it was a curse. "You really think so?" the attendant said. "I think that's a bit much..." I mumbled under my breath. Iris' Axew hid inside her hair. "See? Even Axew knows it's true! And bad things will hapen if we don't do something now!" Then Cilan said that it was simply a misunderstanding and he was going to find a logical explanation. "Guys, i know it is a bit of a hunch, but either way you look at it, something else is going on. I can just feel it..." I said quietly. Ash could not take it anymore. "Hold it right there! I want to know about my gym battle!" he screamed. "Ash! there is no time for that now!" Iris said. Cilan nodded in agreement. "Maybe later!" I suggested. Pachirisu tried to be encouraging by giving a big smile. I giggled a little bit. Pachirisu can be more than just good when cheering somebody up. "Besides," the attendant started. "Lenora's not here anyway. And you can't battle without her." This sparked everyone's attention. "Oh! I forgot to introduce myself! My name's Hans, and when I refer to Lenora, I meant my wife. She's also the Nacarene gym leader!" We all introduced ourselves to him. We looked around the museum, and it was awesome! Other than the creepy dome fossil, there was a Dragonite skeleton, a meteorite, suits of armor, and a Cofagrigus tomb. There was also a Yamask mask. It was cool at first, but then it seemed creepy. Before looking at the rest of the exhibit, I looked at the mask again and shuddered. Curse or science, something was really strange about the mask! The last stop on the tour was a small library, with additional artifact info. "Now tell me, did you find anything intriguing?" Hans asked. "Everything seems normal to me..." Cilan said. "Something is strange, but i can't put my finger on what it is!" Iris pointed out. "I honestly don't know...." I said, with my eyes locked on the floor. This was a little more adventure than I anticipated. No turning back now! "I know one thing..." Ash started. "I need to eat!" "Will you stop???" I giggled at Iris' reaction. At least I have friends to help me through all of this. "It was a joke!" Ash said. "I would say that was good timing!" I winked. "Uh, Hans?" Cilan asked. "Would it be alright if we slept in the museum tonight?" he asked. My stomach suddenly tied up in knots. WHAT were we doing??? With the strange activity, I did understand though. With all of the strange activity, it would be easier. "Chewpah, chewpaiiih." Pachirisu said, trying to help me feel better, but i was too distracted. "You all may be kids, but you are courageous. I'm impressed." Iris seized this as the perfect opportunity. "Actually, he's the only kid." she teased, talking mostly through Ash's ear. "Now what does that mean?" he asked. I laughed a little bit, but I was still distracted. Pachirisu, determined not to fail, hopped on the floor and made a funny face. I laughed a bit more. "Okay! Okay! You win!" I pet her. She cooed happily.

"Crystal! Come on! Wake up!" I slowly got up, remembering the whole creepy ghost thing. "Chewpah! Chewpah!" a cranky Pachirisu screamed. "I'm feeling a weird chill." she stated. Uh, yeah. No kidding. "Another unscientific explanation." Cilan said. Instantly, this weird black fog started appearing everywhere. "Hey, what's going on?" Ash asked. I grabbed onto Pachirisu. Okay, not typical for handling this. I get freaked out easily, okay? "Oh, you'r all up." Hans said as he woke up. "AAAH!! That fog! What in the world could it be?" "I'm telling you, that angry spirit is about to do something bad!" "Well, thanks for the vote of confidence." I mumbled under my breath. "Of course not! The air conditioning must have broken down." "You guys! I really think that it is something else! I am not saying you are wrong it is just that-" I heard a strange noise instantly. I squeezed Pachirisu harder. "Chew...pah..." "Oh! sorry!" I said and let go. That was when I saw one of the suits of armor walk towards us. I was resisting the urge to scream. Okay, Iris is definitely not right, but then again, I have doubts for Cilan, too. And why is the suit of armor walking? "Alright, what's the scientific explanation, Cilan?" Iris said. I could not even notice what he said , because that suit of armor literally drew it's arm in and pulled out it's sword. "Um, how does either of your explanations have to with... that?" I said, pointing to the sword. I edged away little bit. "Are sound waves doing that?" Iris asked, extremely annoyed. "It's possible that someone could be manipulating it's arms with strings..." "WE ARE THE ONLY ONES HERE!" I screamed, half loosing it, half scared out of my wits. "That's a bit of a stretch..." Ash agreed. The suit of armor instantly ran towards us. "Okay, I don't know if I can take this much more..." I said. "Quick! Pikachu, quick attack!" Ash said. "Pika pika pika pika pika pika, chu pi!" Pikachu squeaked as it tackled into the suit of armor. It suddenly crashed and broke down on impact. The entire suit of armor quickly reassembled after it broke down. I shuddered in a small quest for confidence. Then I stopped. "If it is not a curse, and not science, but they both hold a piece of the mystery's solution..." I said as I began to finally start breaking up my options. Then I remembered the scary suit of armor. Cilan was also a bit unsure. "That's curious. Iris, however, had her mind made up. "No, that's a curse!" "Pikachu, volt tackle!" Ash said. Pikachu rammed into the suit of armor once more. The suit of armor did not bounce back, but this time a weird flame came up. "Okay, so the armor floating first, then the flame. Maybe..." I continued. "What do you think?" Ash asked. "I don't know yet, I am still thinking" I said quietly. Hans had paid no attention. "Is that a ghostly aura?" Cilan was not giving up. "It is just an electrical discharge and nothing more..." The flame floated towards me. "Ow! That is super hot" I said as it seemed to swirl around me. It headed straight towards Ash next and did the same thing. "Discharge much?" i said a bit higher than I intended. I was too freaked out to care. The flame suddenly chased Hans in circles. "Oshawott, use water gun!" Ash said. "Osha, wott!" Oshawott screamed as the water put out the flame. "Phew, I have never been a fan of ghost stories but this is scary!" I said as I took a small sigh of relief. As if on cue, the helmet from the armor floated again. "Oh great! Back to the creepy ghost armor." I finished. Iris was not having it either. "Alright, explain!" I paid little attention as I noticed that yet again it was chasing Hans. That meant it was not just a curse. After the brilliant Pikachu plays defense yet again, we had been back on track for a moment. "Thanks guys, I needed that." Hans said, exhausted. "You know, that angry spirit seems to be after Hans for some reason." "Way ahead of you on that one. Twice in a row like that brings out that it, whatever it is, is after him." I explained. "After, m-m-m-m-me?? I don't think I've done something to get someone so mad." Then I felt a wet droplet on my head. "Rain?!" Ash clarified. "Well, it could be worse. I am not sure how after getting attacked by a floating body-less suit of armor, but it could be worse." I said after patting the brave Pachirisu. Then it hit me. "I think it is!" "What is?" Ash asked. "Floating armor, then flames, then rain? This could be the work of a Pokemon!" I reasoned. "It is just a guess though." The rain instantly stopped. Then I heard something. "What's that?" I chickened out. "Those were the same noises i heard last night." Hans said. I am done! This is getting too scary. I paid no attention to the others. I looked at Pachirisu, who seemed to look like she was about to cry. "Chew pah, pai?" she squeaked quietly. "It will all be ok, nothing bad can happen right now." I cheered her up. "Whatever!" Ash finally said. "Let's go check out where it's coming from. Oshawott, return!" Ash said, calling back his interesting partner.

We all ran into the room the noises came from. The main artifacts exhibit room. We all looked around, and realised the Yamask mask was... crying? "I really need to learn to stop saying stupid things like that!" I said. There goes my Pokemon theory, out the window. "Why would the mask be sad?" Iris said, seeming scared as well. "What appears to be tears are condensation and nothing more." Cilan said. The mask rammed into the glass. "Okay, note to self, never say 'nothing can be wrong right now' again!!!" "The angry spirit is in that mask!" Iris said. "Wrong, it is merely attracted to something like the positive and negative poles of a magnet." Cilan struck again, annoying everything out of Iris. The mask rammed for awhile, but then stopped. Suddenly i heard a loud noise. I turned around against my will. "Um, I am beginning to really be unafraid of that suit of armor." I said, as I looked at the Dragonite skeleton. It was walking towards us. Iris had her theory confirmed. "Alright, are you the angry spirit? Tell us, please-" "Stop! It is simply a change in the magnetic field... I don't even believe me anymore..." Cilan finally admitted. I squeezed onto Pachirisu tightly like a child would to a stuffed Tedirusa. The skeleton made an attempt to eat us, before turning to that Yamask mask. Okay, I would not hide anymore. I remembered back when I was a schoolgirl, and mean girl Alana always made fun of us, and I had less than a care in the world about it. If there was anytime to summon that courage, the time was now. The Dragonite skeleton began punching the screen protecting the mask and the other artifacts. "Quick, Pansage, bullet seed!" Cilan said, calling out his Pansage. "Pan.... Sage!!!" The adorable green monkey said as it unleashed its signature attack. The skeleton instantly fell and broke, but I could have sworn I heard a cry. Maybe it was a Pokemon after all! "Maybe its the voice of the angry spirit!" Iris said. "What about the mask? Is it all right?" Cilan questioned. "I'll go check on it." Hans said. "Wait! It was banging on the glass before! What if-?" Was all I could say. "Like you just said, what could go wrong?" "Also like I just said-!" Hans swiped the card and the screen opened. The mask instantly floated out and onto Cilan's face. He tried to get it off, but it would not budge. I coud have sworn I heard more in there. Like, some kind of... ghost magic! Ash, Iris, and I all pulled super hard, me harder than anyone else. Cilan was one of my first friends. He helped me more than anyone! I was not giving up now. But then, it was too late.

We were pushed out of the way like nothing happened. But I knew that more was going on than just a stuck mask. I know Cilan too well to think that that was regular. It was just weird. Right then my courage zapped out with my voice completely. I totally backed out for some reason. Apparently, I was not the only one. "Cilan, are you ok?" "Snap out of it!" The response i heard was not from the Cilan I knew. Not the one who helped me with Team Rocket back then. This one was dark and strange and... weird! "And now, I shall punish you!!!" He screamed, unleashing a will-o-wisp. I barley dodged, but whatever was coming next, I was not having it. "Alright, you want to be that way... whoever you are???" I started. "Do what you want, but you won't hurt my friends!" "Crystal!" Ash said. "Don't do it, it is too dangerous!" "Ash, you always said to never give up, right? Right now, I am relying on those words... To save the Cilan we know." I said. I instantly charged towards the mask and yanked with all of my might, but I was thrown off. "Wow, that thing is strong." I said briefly, shaking off the blow. "Crystal, who knows what might happen if you don't stop!" Iris tried to help. "Think about what will happen if I don't." I said, and charged again. This time, I summoned every ounce of energy left in my body to pull off the mask. That was when the memory came back...

.............................................................................................................................................................

I was dreading the day I had to go back to school. After dad vanished, who knows what cruel things Alana would do. "Everything will be okay. Just chin up, like always!" Tierno said. "Yeah, just someone tell me why Alana acted weird before!" Trevor asked. "Whatever, they are coming here now!" Shauna warned. Her red locks as beautifully swimming as ever, She had an Espeon with her today. "so, little ones, what do you think? Father let me bring her today." She bragged, emphasizing the word 'father' making me groan. "Say what you want, but one day I will find out this mystery's answer." I said, just loud enough for her to hear. "How will you do it? Your just a little kid." Shauna looked like she would pull a fast one, but I held up a finger over her mouth. "Maybe I am, but that does not mean I am not capable. We are all able to, even you." I finished, pulling a faster yet more shocking one. "Nicley done." Calem complimented. "Oh puh-leez. I have more talent in one finger than you do in your whole group!" She said. "So? We all are equals in the end. We just can't loose hope." I concluded. "Ugh, fine. Just don't expect father to help you with anything." She said, feeling a bit defeated. "Never give up..." I said to myself, just as a short reminder of what I did.

............................................................................................................................................................

I stopped Alana with words, just like I can find the force to get this thing off! As the memory finished playing, I put it as strength to pull harder. After lots of endurance and force, I finally managed to rip the thing off, throwing myself on the floor and the stupid mask spinning and hitting the corner of the room. "Crystal! What were you thinking?!" Iris said, shocked. I just sat there, catching my breath. I was sweating and exhausted. "Honestly... dunno..." were the only words I could say before I was finally able to get the oxygen back into my body. "Cilan, are you ok?" Ash asked. "Yes, but, what happened?" "Let's just say you don't want to know..." I said, picking myself up. "Trust me, you don't." Iris said before anyone could say another word. The mask got up again too, and chased after us again. Only this time it was me. "Oh no, I am not letting that thing get on me." I said, backing away. The mask moved faster. "Aaaaaaaah! No! I refuse to hurl shadow balls at my friends!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!' I said, running away from the mask, making yet another game of chase. "Wait, what?" Was all that came out of Cilan's mouth while Pachirisu just facepalmed. "Okay, maybe that was a bad choice of words. Just get this thing away from meeeeeeeee!!!" I said, hoping this endless game of chase would end. "Stop running away from it and do something!" Ash screamed. "Thanks for the vote of confideeeeeeeeeence!!!!!!!!!!!!" "Call a Pokemon to use a move or something!" The first logical thing I heard since the mask rose back up. "Okay, if that is what they want, then Pachirisu, use discharge!" I said, stopping short but holding my hands over my face like a shield. Pachirisu hit the mask, and it tumbled to the floor. I collapsed on the floor again. I have no idea how these people do it. Like, one minute you are bursting with energy, and the next, you are exhausted. "Um, don't look now, but..." I heard Iris say. I took a few deep breaths and looked. Oh no. The mask was of the ground. On Cilan's face. Again. "No fair! I can't do this anymore..." Like always, the enemy does not quit right when you want it to. "I shall have revenge!" The mask said and fired a shadow ball. I could not get up. I was defeated. I did not do anything. What could I do besides scream, which I was? "Chewpaaaaaaahhh!!!" I looked to see Pachirisu struggeling to sand up. Suddenly that energy started flowing back. "Fine, you want to be that way?!" I screamed, practically raging now. The possessing mask fired a shadow ball. I attempted to dodge, but a bine from the Dragonite skeleton was inconvieniently near my foot, and I tripped. That was when the stupid shadow ball hit me. I was drained of my energy tewice as much. "Chewpaiii!" "Crystal! Oh man..." "Are you ok? I don't know if-" Before Iris could finish, I was unconscious.

Finally done! Wow, with 3468 words and counting, too! I went all out with this one. Sorry I never published, I was part lazy, part no ideas, and yeah. The shipping begins! >:3 I was thinking Pachirisu's POV next because, well, you know why. Also, expect a cliffhanger with every unconsciousness...well that made no sense. Down to buisness. I need a shipping name, but I have no ideas. You know I want feedback in the comments, so I will make a contest! The best shipping name in the comments gets their own character put in a Pokemon shipping oneshot of their choice. Yes, of your choice! Please add description in comments, shipping name has to be like how Ash x Serena is Amourshipping. Enough rules!I need feedback anyway. I should probably shut up and publish. Bye! O.<
