"Aven! I'm going to town!" I called standing by the door of the cottage, holding a basket with a book in it. That I was going to return.
"Have fun sis!" Aven called from the basement where he worked.
I exited the small cottage and made the long journey to village. Where the book shop was.
Upon reaching the village entrance all seemed quiet. Until I took a step in and the village burst into life. People opens up their shutters calling a jolly "hello!'. Shop keepers opened their shops ready to sell their goods. More calls of 'hello!' moved through the air.
I caught snatches of conversation. A woman needing eggs. A man telling her they're too expensive. A baker carrying a tray of bread called to his wife to bring the rolls.
I ignored the snatches of conversations calling out my weirdness. I made my way through the thick crowd until I made it to the small book shop.
It was run by a woman named Nico Robin. A beautiful woman with large breasts.
"Morning, Robin-Sama!" I call to the woman.
"Ah, Wolfie-chan! Good morning. What brings you here?" she asks.
"I've come to return the book I borrowed!" I say pulling out the black leather bound book out of the basket.
"Finished already?" she asked.
"I couldn't put it down! Got anything new?" my voice asked eagerly.
She giggles. "Not since you were here yesterday Wolfie-chan!"
"That's okay!" I say browsing the shelves. "I'll take This one!" pulling a light blue hardcover off the shelf.
"Haven't you read that one?" Robin asked tilting her head to the side.
"Yes but it's my favorite! Wife open waters, a gang of pirates who fight for what right! And the captain is handsome!"
"Well in that case its yours!" she says smiling at me.
"But Robin-Sama!" I protest.
"Its yours!" she says waving me off.
"Thank you Robin. Thank you very much!" I exit the shop waving to her. Robin wad th only one in the village who didn't mind my habit of reading.
Walking out into the busy village I make my way to the village square where a beautiful fountain sat.
I sat myself on the edge and open the book randomly.
It was the par where the sexy captain met the beautiful girl. Who had just tried to kill him.
"Here's where he meets the love of his life." I tell a goat that had gotten lose from his post. "But He won't find out until chapter 7!"
The goat bleats and bubbles on the cornr of the book. His owner rushes over and pulls him away apologizing.
I carry on reading unaware of the vents happening on behind me.
"Way Ta go Kid! You really showed him!" Killer- a man with long blonde hair and a face covered by a mask- told Kid, A tall man with vivid red hair and maroon eyes.
"Fuck yeah I did! That'll teach him and his little friends not to mess with me!"
"I'll bet you have thousand of girls wanting you!" Killer tells the man.
"I do! But I have my sights set of that one!" he tells his comrade pointing at the girl sitting on the fountain nose stuck in a book.
"The inventors sister? But why? She's-"
"Absolutely perfect. And don't I deserve that?" Kid growls cutting Killer off.
"O-of course you do!"
"Good. Now lets got talk to my future wife!" he states boldly making his way through the thick crowd.
Before He can get through she gets up and makes Her way to the exit o town.
I begin my walk home unaware of the person trying to get to me.
"Wolfie wait!" a gruff voice called to me.
Turning around I'm met with the eyes of none other than the bully of town Euastass Kid. Followed by Killer
"Sabaku Wolfie. Still as gorgeous as ever!" he grins.
"Euastass Kid. Still as mean as ever." I place my hands on my hips.
He chuckles and grabs for the book. Before I can stop him He snatches it away.
"Honestly I can't understand how you read This. There no pictures." he grunts flipping through the pages.
"That's because you have no imagination Kid." I respond trying to get my precious book back.
He tosses over his shoulder and it lands in a puddle of mud. I gasp and go to reach for it but an stopped when his giant boot slams in my way.
"A woman such as yourself shouldn't be concerned with learning. You should be learning how to cook and clean!"
"Thanks Kid. I'll keep that in mind." I grab the book and wipe the mud off. "Now if you'll excuse me. I have to be on my way. Good Bye Kid."
With that I turn and make my way out of the village and hear three girls ask how I could turn him down so ruthlessly. I roll my eyes and mutter under my breath "Because I want to be something more than someone's wife."
I make my way home and enter the cottage.
"Aven I'm home!" I call
Placing the basket aside and kicking off my black flats off by the door.
I finish cleaning the book off and place it on my already overflowing bookshelf.
Aven comes up from the basement a oil smear across his forehead.
"How'd the trip to the village go?" he asks.
"It went well. Until I met Kid and He threw my book into The mud and told me I should learn to be a good wife." I sigh sitting at The kitchen table with a book about a wild wolf family.
"He's a dick." Aven says.
"Aven? Am I weird?" I ask looking at him. He has the same golden Brown eyes as me but his hair is a dark Brown.
"My sister? Of course not!"
"Thanks Ave" I smile. " How's the invention going?"
"It should be done soon and then it's off today he convention for me!" he grins.
"Then go finish I'll be up here if you need me!"
"Alright Wolfie." he goes back down stairs and I begin to read my book. Thirty minutes plaster there's a knock of the door.
I sigh and stand up. I use Aven's looking glasses to see who it is and roll my eyes and sigh. Of course it's him.
