Twenty Three
~B.~
I was dressed and bouncing around the kitchen ready for Marcello to take me wherever he had planned.
I found out we were in Vernazza. It was in northern Italy and was a smaller city. Marcello had grown up around here.
I sat on the kitchen counter as Corrine painted my lips with a maroon lipstick. I groaned and squirmed away as she kept trying to touch my mascara.
Mel butt bumped her away and handed me an apple to eat.
"You guys are going to have so much fun. Oh, I wish I could walk around for more than twenty minutes without aching or having to pee."
I giggled and rubbed her arms, "I'm sure Frankie has something planned while you're here."
"I doubt it he sucks at planning anything," she scoffed.
"I do not!" Frankie in a truly Frankie manner, pops his head up to defend himself.
"Well you did a shit job planning for this baby!" I winced loudly and tried to scoot away.
"It was heat of the moment and you loved it!" I gagged as she melted and he kissed her quickly.
"You and Bossman are much worse, just so you know." Corrine added while leaning next to me.
"And what about the heart eyes you make at Caesar?"
"I have no idea what you're talking about, babe. You know I only have eyes for you," I stuck my tongue out at her.
Her denial was cute even though she put all of her time into Lily and him. They were going to hook up at some point. And then I'm going to plan their wedding.
Marcello walked in and I smiled before hopping down. He was quick to fix my skirt that had flown up.
"Beautiful," he brushed my unruly hair back. He pushed up my glasses and kissed my nose. It was Mel's turn to gag as Frankie gaped.
"Did Marcello Milano just... kiss someone's nose?"
He growled as I snuggled into him. I rested my chin against his chest, "I like that you kiss my nose, hun."
He glanced down at me and smirked. Marcello was dressed in a maroon Hensley and dark jeans. An expensive watch sat on his wrist and sunglasses hung from his shirt. This was probably the most casual I've ever seen him dress.
We said our goodbyes to everyone as I was lead to a black SUV.
After a never ending game of twenty questions in the car we pulled up to a center square. Marcello parked behind a shop that he said his friend owned.
"Do you know everyone here?" He grasped my hand as I stepped out of the car and nodded.
"Small, nosy town. Technically I own most of these shops, I just let the original owners run it."
"Why'd you buy it?"
"This town was going under, I found out back home, bought most of it, and sent them the money they needed."
I smiled at Marcello's good deeds and squeezed his hand. With his glasses on as he walked next to me and resembled a body guard of sorts. He was so much larger than me and he looked very inconspicuous.
I walked down the cobble stone road while I craned my neck to look at everything. I was lead into a small restaurant.
I 'oohed' and 'awed' at everything I saw as Marcello pulled me towards the counter. My attention span was all over the place before loud Italian was being shouted from the back.
The person sounded excited- I think. And a hefty man made his way out of the kitchen as fast as possible. A white t-shirt clung to his body, not in the wonderful way Marcello's did in the slightest.
Although, the face splitting grin he was sporting right now made up for all of it!
"Marcello!" His cheeks were bright red as he huffed and puffed while opening his arms to hug Marcello.
While Marcello looked happy to see him, Marcello looked reluctant to hug the sweaty man. I nudged him towards him and with a glare he did embrace his old friend. Marcello did grin down at him and pat his back before they started speaking.
"E ' bello vederti Donnie, sono qui per affari. Ho portato la mia donna, Belle."
It's good to see you Donnie, I'm here on some business. I brought my woman, Belle.
I glanced over at the men as Marcello pulled me into his body. I heard my name somewhere in the jumble of words he said.
"Oh! E ' bello vedere che una donna riesce finalmente a sopportare le tue stronzate! Dov'e ' il suo anello? Quand'e ' il matrimonio?"
Oh! So good to see a woman can finally put up with your bullshit! Where's her ring? When's the wedding?"
I whipped my head over to the man currently holding me as he spluttered.
"Er- I'm working on it Don."
"Belle this is Donnie. I've known him since I was a boy."
"Ah, very nice to meet you Donnie." I smiled and stuck my hand out.
The stranger swatted away at my hand and drew me in for a hug. I shuddered quietly at the dampness but patted his back either way.
"Very nice to meet you Belle! So glad Marcello has wife," Marcello narrowed his eyes at him comically as I paused for a second before sending him a smile and nod.
I looked around and realized this was a bakery. Suddenly my eyes were glued to that cinnamon bun in the casing.
"Pick what you want, bambina." Donnie smiled and moved behind the counter and waited for me to choose. I didn't hesitate to point at my prize and was quickly handed it.
Marcello reaches over the thing and shook Donnie's hand, "we have to leave now but we'll visit more Donnie."
I waved goodbye and was quickly lead outside. People walked the streets and did a double take at Marcello.
He showed me around the town and places he played when he was a kid. I laced our fingers together, Marcello kissed my forehead as we walked to a bench.
I tugged him over and sat us both down.
Marcello grabbed my legs and laid them across his lap. He was quiet as he trailed them up my thighs.
I slapped his hand that was slipping under my dress, "naughty."
"Only with you," a sly smile spread across his lips. He pecked me slowly.
I hummed and gripped his bicep as he pulled me closer. I gasped as he worked his hand up my dress and under my underwear. He growled lowly as he nipped at my bottom lip.
Suddenly his tongue plunged into my mouth and my eyes widened as I realized out surroundings.
"Public-" I got out before he swallowed my next words.
"If they have a problem they're out of a job," he grumbled against my lips.
I finally fully detached and wiped at the lipstick on his lips as he cleaned up mine.
"Have I told you I really like your arms," I squeezed his biceps. Marcello let out a hearty laugh and kissed me once more.
"Also can we get a dog?"
"What? No."
"Why not!" I exclaimed while sitting up straighter, ready to defend my point.
"We already have the dumb cat!"
"You love Hershel!"
"That's debatable."
"Yes you do don't think I didn't see when he'd lay on your desk while you worked."
He grunted and leaned against the back of the bench.
"I want more furry babies and when everything settles down we can get a big dog. From the shelter."
"We could just make real babies," he replied lazily while putting his sunglasses back on.
I went red and crossed my arms. He glanced over at me and smirked. Marcello wrapped his arm around my shoulder and brought me into his chest.
"Or... we could compromise?" His low voice rang out as he kissed my hairline.
I held up my left hand and wiggles my fingers in his face, "put a ring on it baby."
He gripped my hand and kissed my knuckles. He ran his thumb over my ring finger.
"Soon."
My eyes widened at the declaration. I stayed silent as I kissed his cheek.
Marcello suggested we head home as he lent me a hand to stand up. He tucked me into his chest while leading me home.
