The Castle
Third POV
Scott continued to ride Ben of into the forest on his way to the next town. But as he continued to look around me, he noticed the forest start to get darker and darker.
"Ben, I don't want to alarm you... But I think were lost." Scott said as he looked at the map he had.
'Did he really have to say that?' Ben thought to himself.
They continued to go straight ahead until the road was split into two. Scott looked at both paths and then his map.
"I think were supposed to go that way." He said, pointing to the left path.
Ben looked at the left path. The left path was even darker and scarier then the right path. Ben took a look at the right path, it had more light and didn't seem to be any bit scary. Ben looked at his rider and raised an eyebrow.
'Really?' Ben thought as he started to head down the right path.
"No Ben. I said this way." Scott said, pulling on the rope and leading Ben to the left path.
As they continued to venture through the dark path, Scott started having second thoughts.
"I think we went the wrong way, Ben." Scott said, looking at the map again.
'Well no kidding Sherlock!' Ben rolled his eyes.
"Let's go back." Scott said as the sun started to set.
But before they could turn around, they heard a sudden growl. Scott quickly started to scan the area. As he looked around he soon saw behind some trees, bright glowing yellow eyes staring back at him.
"Ben, run!" Scott whispered to Ben's ears.
Without hesitation Ben started to run forward. Then a pack of wolves jumped out of the bushes and chases after the fleeing horse and his rider. Ben continued to run with all his might while his rider struggle to stay on, the wolves right on their tail, growling and howling as they ran.
But as night started to rise and the forest's shadow soon came to view, the shadows started to confuse and frighten the horse as he ran. Then path started to get darker and darker.
"Woah!" Scott said, still struggling to stay on his horse. "Aaaahhhhh!" He then fell of into a bush.
Ben continued to run, leading the wolves away from the bush that contained Scott. Scott slowly walked out of the bush, limping, and started to walk back home. Due to the fall he sprained his ankle, but continued his journey back. But due to the circumstances, he couldn't tell if he was even going in the right direction.
'I need to find a place to stay for the night, or maybe at least some directions on how to get back home.' Scott thought to himself.
After a few minutes of walking he noticed something far in the distance. A mansion? No. A castle surrounded by a thick cloud of fog. Scott smiled hopefully, thinking that he had found a place to stay. He continued walk to even with the pain in his leg getting worse by the minute, determined to get to the castle. (The thought of finding shelter and a warm place to stay for the night, fills you with determination. Sorry I had to, lol XP I couldn't resist. Cookie for the people who get the reference :3)
When Scott finally made it to the entrance of the castle he could only stare in awe. The castle was huge! The castle looking dark and gloomy with it's thick fog and quiet atmosphere. It also felt creepy with its black painted walls and it's many different creepy statues that gave of a really scary vibe as they seemed to stare down at him. (They stare into your soul! Sorry, can you tell I'm bored?)
'Maybe someone kind enough from the castle could let me stay in for the night, or at least give me directions back home.' Scott thought to himself.
Scott slowly opened the gate to the castle. He knew it was rude to intrude on other people's property without permission, but he doubt anyone would be able to hear him from the gate. As he came closer to the door he then started to wonder.
'How come I have never seen or at least heard of this castle before? Does this castle even rule over a kingdom? It's in the middle of a forrest!' He wondered. (I mean come on! Hasn't anyone ever wondered why there's a castle in the middle of no where? Sorry, I'll stop now.)
Scott reached the foot of the castle and walk to the big front door and knocked. He then slowly opened the door and walked in.
"He-hello?" He called out. "I'm sorry for the intrusion, but I was wondering if you could please let me stay for the night.? Or at least some directions on how to get back." He closed the door and walked deeper into the castle.
"Why bonjour! What brings you here?" A voice blurted out.
Scott turned around and was shocked to see where the mysterious voice came from.
