Chapter III
WOO-HOO! AN UPDATE!
Sorry it took so long.
The changwing did as you asked, or ordered, and left. Heather left soon after. Dagur took her further into the woods for a safer escape route. When he came back he appeared flustered. It was almost strange to talk to him. As if someone had put a sheet of awkwardness between you two so you couldn't talk at all.
'Why would that be?' you wondered, 'Could he... have feelings for me?' You immediately dismissed the thought. It was impossible. You were his prisoner and nothing else. Where would a thought like that come from? Wanting to think about it without having to worry about Dagur's presence you told him "Goodnight" and pretended to fall asleep. With your eyes closed and your dragon form having taken over, you let your thoughts wonder.
'Do I like him? No! I can't like him! He's one of THEM! A dragon hunter! But he doesn't seem so bad... He could just be pulling a tough boy act and really be actually nice. But he's insane! His name is literally Dagur the Deranged!'
You thought of his name and how cool it sounded compared to yours. Soon your thoughts switched to his looks. He was definitely well built and strong. His fiery red hair was a mess, but a cute mess. His eyes were definitely the kind you could get lost in, especially if he smiled. Your thoughts moved on to his backstory. The one thing you really had in common was your want for revenge.
The only problem was you wanted revenge on the people he was working for. You would probably have to fight him. Maybe even kill him. You didn't know if you could do that. You'd grown attached to him. He's one of the only friends you've ever had. You had only one friend in the caves. Her name was (bf/n). She was the only other Lycanwing close to your age. All the others had been killed. You knew you wouldn't be able to kill her just like you wouldn't be able to kill him.
You woke up to an awful pain in your forearm. You looked down at it to see that your wound from last night was infected. The color of the scab clashed with your scales, making it stand out more than it needed. You licked it in hopes to speed up the healing process, but it only resulted in a bitter taste in your mouth. You spat, hoping to get the metallic flavor off your tongue. Acid is what came out of your mouth. Bright, glowing acid that could burn through almost anything. Where it had landed it caused the green metal of your cage to sizzle and vanish. Not exactly normal.
Judging by the light, it was early morning. Before the sun had come up, but enough light to see. "Oh good. You're up," Dagur said drearily. He answered your question before you could ask it. "Vigo wants to see you."
You have been dreading this. The conversation with Vigo. Discussing the dragon knowledge, no doubt. You may have agreed to come be their prisoner, but you swore to protect the knowledge as well. You were going to have to be very careful with your words in order to do both.
Dagur unlocked your cage while you transformed back into a human. You walked in silence. A few yards behind the trees was the rest of the camp. Multiple tents with multiple men coming in and out. There was a larger tent near the center of the camp. You assumed it was where you would be talking to Vigo. Inside was a large map on the wall along with various notes about dragons. On the table in the center of the room was the Knowledge Holder, or as Vigo called it The Dragon Eye. Vigo sat behinds he table. He gestured to a chair opposite of him, "Please have a seat."
"I think I'll stand, thank you." You spoke through a forced smile. You imagined yourself turning into a dragon that moment and strangling him with your tail. You didn't. You simply stood. Smiling.
"Very well," he said, "I think it's high time you started fulfilling your part of the deal. So tell me, what do you know?" You closed your eyes to think. You had to do this carefully so that he doesn't the get all of the information in one go. "What do want to know?" you asked, opening your eyes. "I know a great many things," he said, "But there are things that I don't know. Such as finding all the pieces. You wouldn't happen to know where they are, would you?"
"How could I?" you said, "The only map that shows their locations is in that." You pointed to the Holder. "And, incase you haven't noticed, I haven't exactly been able to view it." Vigo remained silent, examining you. Then he stood and began walking. "(Y/n). I'm beginning to wonder if you know anything at all." He was now standing next to you. "And who's fault is that?" you said. He ignored you and continued talking, "If I find this to be true, our deal is off."
You wanted to yell at him. He blamed you for your lack of knowledge when, in reality, he was the one to blame. You didn't though. Instead, you swallowed you words and stared a hole into the table. Vigo took your silence as a signal for the conversation to be over. "Perhaps some time to think will jog your memory. I'll give you a week and if you still don't remember by the end, I will be sending my troops to visit your people. Perhaps one of them will know." You looked at him with fear and rage behind your eyes. He returned your stare. Neither of you looked away until you left the tent.
