It was a long swim to get back to the shelter in Issy-les-Moulineaux, and the little dry land that remained around Paris. Marinette coughed up some water, Kim patting her back and helping her up the stairs to get inside the town hall. But when the pair entered, she was surprised to find it empty inside. She instantly panicked, not seeing Alya or Nino or her other friends that she remembered.

"They must have left already, I better go join them." Kim said as he walked Marinette up the stairs, into the room with all the sleeping bags where she spent that one night before being kidnapped by Chat Blanc.

Marinette was confused by his statement, "What are you talking about- where are they going? We have to reach them!" She said, trying to go back into the hall, but Kim held his arms out to stop her. "What are you doing?" She asked.

"You can't go back Marinette, it's not safe for you, we all agreed." Kim said.

Marinette furrowed her eyebrows, "What do you mean, back?"

Kim bit his lip, like he didn't want to say the truth or that he wasn't supposed to, but he spoke up anyway, "They're all... we are all... we're going to defeat Chat Blanc. Once and for all."

Marinette felt the color drain from her face, "W-what? You can't- you can't do that, he's just a kid like us-"

"Marinette he killed half of Paris-"

"Exactly why he's too powerful-"

"He can't go up against all of us, we have a plan."

"I won't let you hurt him! He's still... he's still a person in there, I know it!"

Kim looked down at Marinette, disappointment in his eyes. "They thought you might act like this... " He said, backing towards the doorway, "But we can't let you get in the way if this is our only chance to defeat him. I'm sorry Marinette." He said. He slammed the door in front of Marinette, leaving her inside the room. Marinette ran to the door and jiggled the handle, but it wouldn't budge.

"Kim let me out!" She shouted, Kim's weight was against the door and she couldn't break through. She heard the squeaking of a chair being pulled across the floor and being pushed under the handle of the door. Marinette slammed her body weight against the door but it wouldn't budge, and she heard Kim's footsteps running away from the door. "Kim! KIM YOU CAN'T DO THIS!" She screamed.

He was gone.

Marinette started to sob. It was either her friends or Chat, only one would come back for her. She put her back against the wall and let herself slide down, crying.

"Kitty...." was all she could manage to say.

The mob had made makeshift boats, shields out of trash can lids, swords made from whittled broomsticks. They showed no fear despite having it burned into their hearts as they sailed into the sunken remains of Paris. It wasn't long until Kim came back, swimming up to the nearest boat and reporting to self proclaimed Captain Chloe.

"He's staying in the Agreste Mansion. He just blew a hole in it, an easy entrance." Kim said.

The group nodded. Chloe stood up in the raft, rocking it slightly as she turned to the rest of the mob.

"We all remember Ladybug, we know how to find akumas. Just follow the heroine Queen Bee, moi, into battle, and we will stop this monster and win our city back!"

The mob cheered and held up their weapons, sailing towards the Agreste mansion.

Marinette was still crying on the ground, but she froze when she heard the tiny voice again.

"Marinette I'm sorry...." The tiny creature whispered.

Marinette jumped and patted her pockets, pulling out the small red creature.

"You? You climbed in my pocket.... Why was Chat Blanc hiding you? Why did he get so mad when he found out you were missing?"

The tiny creature coughed, "There's no time to explain, you have to save Chat Noir and the others before they all get hurt. Say, 'Tikki, spots on'. You'll be able to remember, I promise, everything. I have the power of creation to help you."

Marinette's hand shook as she reached up towards her earlobe. The earrings.

"Tikki, spots on."

The next few moments were all white. Flashes of memories zooming by, flickering into Marinette's brain. She felt herself going back in time, throughout her life, up until that fatal moment when Chat Noir was akumatized by his own father, Hawkmoth.

Adrien had been alone this whole time. It all clicked now. That's why Chat Blanc kidnapped Marinette. He loved her.

And she loved him.

Ladybug knew what she had to do, it was time to save this future universe, and save her prince.

She swung her yoyo and jumped out the window, heading back to Paris.

"Friends, I'm not in the mood to see anyone right now, maybe I'll visit again at your little shelter later...." Chat Blanc announced from the hole in the wall of the Agreste mansion.

"You mangy Chat! It's time for you to be defeated once and for all!" Chloe shouted.

"Stand back." A voice shouted from the roof. Everyone turned to look, looking as if they saw a ghost.

Ladybug had returned.

"Chat Blanc, this is between you and me. Leave these citizens alone." Ladybug stated.

"Oh Marinette, it's always been you and me. Our love did this to the world!" Chat Blanc shouted.

The mob started to murmur, "Marinette?" "That can't be true!" "Ladybug is Marinette?"

Ladybug swung her yoyo, "Come on Chat, you want my miraculous don't you? Well my memories are back, and you're right, you need them to fix the world. I'll give you my miraculous Chat Noir." She said, jumping down to be on the same level as him.

Chat Blanc smiled, "I'm not Chat Noir anymore, I am Chat Blanc." He said, flicking his bell.

He's still fighting. That's the only clue she needed.

"You will always be Chat Noir to me." She said, stepping forward. She gently put her hands on his shoulders, leaning in and kissing him on his lips.

As well as grabbing the white bell and crushing it in her hands.

Stepping back she used her yoyo to de-evilize the akuma, turning it into a plain white butterfly. Turning around she saw Chat Blanc disappear and turn back into the Chat Noir she knew and loved.

"Marinette!" he said, glad to be back to normal and running forward, wrapping her in a hug.

Ladybug sighed and pushed him away gently.

"What's wrong My Lady?" Chat Noir asked.

"You're still calling me Marinette." Ladybug explained, "You're not supposed to know who I am. It means that if I use my Miraculous Ladybug to fix everything now..."

"You'll still have this memory of her." said Bunnyx, as she appeared in her burrow.

Ladybug turned to the burrow and looked back at Chat Noir, "I know what I have to do... but it will erase everything in this reality. Us knowing our identities included."

"And our love?" Chat asked.

Ladybug nodded sadly.

Bunnyx sighed and stepped forward, pulling Ladybug and Chat Noir's hands together and making them interlock, "I can't tell you much, but this isn't the only universe you're in love. You have to have faith in one another... but this is the only way to fix reality."

Ladybug wiped her eyes with her free hand, "I promise I'll fix everything, Chat."

Chat Noir smiled, pulling her hand up to his lips and kissing it, "I know you will."

Bunnyx pulled Ladybug back into the portal.

And they were gone.

Ladybug reverted reality back to normal with her miraculous ladybug. She also reverted herself back to normal, meaning she didn't know who Chat Noir was, and vice versa. The pair went on as if the Chat Blanc situation never happened. They had learned too much. But at least the multiverse was safe now, and so was Paris. But as Bunnyx went back to the future, she knew the truth.

They would get together eventually.
