Chapter 5

[Aria's pov | The streets of Konoha]

I cracked my knuckles as the air around us dropped several degrees. I'm not sure what they are exactly, the things after me. And I'm not exactly sure why they're after me. All I know is that Gaara has always protected me up until now.

Then, they came. Out of the allies and out of man holes leading into the sewers. People screamed as the shadowy beings emerged from their hiding places, screeching at me. Their beady red eyes stared at me as if I were their prey, which in this case, I suppose I am.

"Aria, get back." Kakashi said, drawing a kunai. I glanced back at him and shook my head. "They want me." I said simply before turning towards them. Slowly, I unplugged my headphones. They screeched, charging at me with their sharp claws.

Opening my mouth, the long, loud draw of a saxophone flew from my mouth, creating golden sound waves that came out in the form of large rings. They flew at the many beasts. Most shot up into the air, but one was hit, and he dispersed.

'So I just have to hit them once. Nice.' I mentally nodded to myself. My eyes widened and I flipped back as a shadowy hand shot down from the air, aiming to impale me. Jumping back again, I released a loud trumpet sound mid air, successfully hitting on in the side. It let out a screaming screech, dispersing.

One of them shot this odd.... ball of shadows at me. It almost looked like black flames. Knowing it was dangerous, and that it would most likely kill me if it hit me, I dodged and shot some shining orange sound waves, the long draw of a trumpet flying from my mouth, the pitch getting higher and higher.

The beast swooped down, dodging, and shot yet another ball at me. I jumped over this one. Taking a deep breath, the low note of a baritone shot from my mouth, hitting it square in the chest much to my satisfaction.

Canterbury's squeal alerted me that I was in danger. I dropped to the ground, as that seemed like the logical thing to do. And it was. A large ball of that black, shadowy fire stuff flew right over me, missing my head by a mere inch.

I swung around, my mouth forming an O. Multiple drum beats shot from my mouth in bullet forms, making quite a catchy beat. Kakashi, who stood on the side of the road, had frozen in shock it seemed. Everyone else had fled, and anbu were surrounding the area.

A water jutsu flew from the mouth of an anbu nearby, washing over one of the beasts. But as I feared, it had no affect. Diving behind a bench for cover, I popped up after a second, shooting a few clarinet notes at the shadowy creature that had just been hit by a water jutsu.

It let out the same, terrifying screech all the others did before it dispelled. I looked around. Only three left, then they'd be gone for now, and everyone here would be safe. I knew they were after me, and that fact meant that no one was safe with me around.

The only reason I stayed in Suna while these things came after me was because of Gaara. His sand, it worked on them. He'd simply create a tidal wave, and they'd dispel without so much as a sound.

I was about to shoot some piano notes right at the one nearest to me but Kakashi shot a fire jutsu. And the freaking thing opened it's mouth, and ate the fire before it's body turned to flames, which can't be good.

Kakashi paled, and all the other anbu in the are paused. I shot some piano keys, which strangely enough came out to the theme of something called Mario. Yeah, well that one exploded into a gigantic ball of fire.

Shooting out some flute notes, the other's went down in less than five minutes. And after that, for just a moment, everything was silent.
