Chapter 25

Me, chanting in the distance: REVERSE HAREM, REVERSE HAREM

Everyone else: Cliche af dude no

Me again:

[Third person pov | Konoha's main gate]

"Canterbury all set?" Naruto asked as Aria jogged up, the pig in tow, and her bag as well. She nodded happily, the headphones around her neck bouncing slightly as she approached. They could faintly hear music coming from them. They were still trying to find a way to listen to music all together without anyone else hearing... Naruto had brought a speaker just in case.

"Good, we're all here." Kakashi was on time for once, but only because Sasuke had physically dragged the man from his house. The Uchiha would not risk this man sabotaging his first mission, intentional or not. This was a big step for him, he felt. There was no way he was letting some perverted old man ruin it for him. He'd worked hard to get here, and finally he'd made some real friends that would most definitely help him in his endeavor to find out the truth about what happened to his clan. None of the pieces fit together. He was determined to find out why Itachi had been crying.

He swore he could remember him crying.

"Can we go already?" Tazuna sighed heavily as though burdened, and Naruto rolled his eyes at the man. The smell of sake coming off of him was strong, and it made him gag just a little. Aria didn't seem to amused with him either, and Sasuke just hated people in general.

"He's right, we should move out." Kakashi gave his students a closed-eye smile. He wanted to reach The Land of Waves by nightfall. He knew it was risky leaving this late into the morning. They could get caught in the dark, and if there was an enemy, they'd be in some real trouble. Not to mention they had Aria with them. He wasn't sure if she still had enemies out for her or not, or if those odd symbols would work.

"Yeah, we wanna get there before it's dark, right?" Aria smiled at her two teammates who nodded in agreement, and with that they set out. Canterbury seemed smug about getting a free ride, staring mainly at Sasuke. The Uchiha was quickly starting to dislike that little pig. He was cute, he would admit, but that was a bad thing. It gave him an advantage. All small, fuzzy, chubby animals with big eyes had an advantage with Aria.

"Kakashi-sensei, how far is The Land of Waves anyway?" Naruto questioned, scratching the back of his neck. Kakashi seemed surprised that of all people, Naruto was asking questions that could potentially lead to an answer containing numbers he didn't quite understand. The man answered nonetheless.

"It's not too far. We'll make it by nightfall if we hurry, but we will have to cross the water on a boat." Kakashi tried not to laugh at the excited look that came over the blonde's face, and over Aria's.

"I've never been on a boat before." Aria awed slightly, her eyes shining. Sasuke snorted slightly.

"Me either. What if it sinks? Do you think we'll die?" Naruto asked, sounding amazed. Canterbury's brow furrowed. Of all the questions he could have asked-

"I think you'll float. I don't know about me. I'm not sure if Canterbury an swim, and I'm so fat I'll probably sink." Aria's laughter wasn't returned. Sasuke frowned.

"You're not fat, Aria." The Uchiha said simply, and the girl looked confused for a moment. Naruto's lips were pursed, and Kakashi looked slightly upset. Canterbury was making a really odd noise under his breath, almost like muttering.

"I was making a joke." She pouted. "You guys are no fun sometimes."

"Well, I think you're super pretty. Sasuke probably thinks so too. Right, Sasuke?" Naruto knew. He knew too much. The Uchiha didn't know how to wipe memories. He was giving him a look. The blonde was too aware. Sasuke hadn't been careful enough. He hadn't thought the creature would gain intelligence. He needed to abort-

"Hn." Sasuke gave a sharp, uncomfortable nod that made Aria and Naruto both laugh.

"Don't compliment me too much, Sasuke. I might just fall in love with you." Aria joked, elbowing him in a friendly sort of way. She and Naruto began to laugh again, walking ahead as they dove headfirst into a conversation about ramen and how The Land of Waves probably didn't have a good place to get it. Sasuke ducked his head, his cheeks coloring.

"You know, Sasuke, you could tell her how you feel." Kakashi was too aware too. Sasuke was seriously going to have to do something about this. "But, you should probably hurry."

Sasuke grunted uncomfortably.

[Time skip | On the way to The Land of Waves]

Canterbury twitched as they passed a rather oddly placed puddle, and he immediately began to squeal. He squirmed in Aria's grasp like she was fire, practically screaming. He knew he was milking it and all, but he couldn't help it. Aria could most definitely get stabbed in the back if he didn't hurry.

"Is he okay?" Naruto asked loudly, his eyes wide. Kakashi's eyes shifted away from the pig and over to the puddle, which began to ripple. The pig had probably smelt it, he assumed. He sighed, weighing his options. Terrify is students or help them like a good sensei?

He made his decision, and as if on cue, chains wrapped around his body.
