Chapter 17
So in the last chapter I worded that wrong.
What I mean is nobody DATES their future husband at the age of twelve. Like, you ain't gonna get with someone in middle school and then marry them with you're adults. Like, let yourself fully develop good lord.
So you might MEET who you're going to marry. (Wink wink moteherfuckers)
But the chances of you dating and staying with them and them alone are just.

[Aria's pov | Ichiraku's ramen shop]
"I hope Naruto's okay. I didn't see any sign of him while we were training." I said, stroking Canterbury's ears with one hand as we walked towards the ramen stand. There was a possibility he'd be there, so Sasuke and I agreed to go peek. "Hn." Sasuke looked down, but I could tell he was worried about our boisterous friend. "I'm sure he's fine. I mean, he's Naruto! He always bounces back..." Honestly, I wasn't too sure myself. He had failed again, and now couldn't be a ninja. That had to be heartbreaking for him.
I heard loud laughter, and sweatdropped. "I guess he's in there." Sasuke said gruffly. "Well, clearly." I gestured to the ramen stand. "Hn... do we go in?" Sasuke looked down at me. "Of course we do! Come on, Sasuke." I trudged ahead, smiling slightly when I heard Sasuke grumbling under his breath. He isn't a super big ramen fan, especially not with Naruto being such a big fan and wanting to eat it all the time. "Come on, Sasuke. You're so slow." I turned to look at him over my shoulder. He scowled in response. I ducked into the ramen stand before he could make a retort.
Iruka-sensei and Naruto were there. And Naruto had on a ninja headband. "Naruto, you have a headband!" I squealed. The blonde whirled around in surprise before grinning. "I saved Iruka-sensei from Mizuki-sensei, who was actually a bad guy! Believe it!" Naruto exclaimed. I resisted the urge to scowl. I knew something was off about that guy. "Awesome! Now, maybe we'll get to be on the same team!" I exclaimed. Canterbury let out a loud oink. "Believe it!" Naruto cheered just as Sasuke popped into the ramen stand.
"I heard." He said before either of us could open our mouth's. "Oh... yay!" I cheered. "Believe it!" Naruto lit up all over again. Iruka-sensei grinned at the three of us. "Do you two want some ramen? I'm treating!" He exclaimed happily. "Yatta!" I cheered, my eyes shining. Sasuke grunted. "You don't have to eat any, Sasuke, but at least come sit with us." I pouted. He rolled his eyes at me, but obliged, moving to sit down. I scrambled into the seat next to his, my legs swinging back and forth under the stood. Teuchi laughed at my lit up face.
[Third person pov | The next day]
"Alright, everyone quiet down! I'm going to announce teams, so listen closely!" Iruka announced over the chatter in the room. In an instant, everyone went silent, gazing at him expectantly. In the back, Aria, Canterbury, Sasuke and Naruto all sat side by side, gazing at Iruka with looks of anticipation. Aria, who sat in the middle, couldn't stop squirming around. She was scared. What if she didn't get placed with Sasuke or Naruto, and instead with two people who didn't like her? She supposed being placed with Kiba wouldn't be too bad. He wasn't mean to her anymore, but she still felt reasonably uncomfortable around him.
"First up is Team Seven!" Iruka said. Tension filled the room as he flipped through a few papers. "Naruto Uzumaki!" He announced. Aria, Sasuke and Naruto all stiffened. "Aria Hatake!" Aria and Naruto lit up, turning to each other and high fiving. They both turned to Sasuke with wide eyes. His fists were clenched, and his eyes, narrowed. "And lastly, Sasuke Uchiha!" Iruka looked up to smile at us. "Yes!" Naruto screeched as Aria leaned over, hugging Sasuke. "We made it without having to threaten anyone!" She cheered, her voice muffled by Sasuke's shoulder. The girls in the class booed and a few started to cry, but Aria didn't cry.
Sasuke stared at the girl with wide eyed. She didn't often hug him but he sort of liked it when she did. He returned the hug, closing his eyes. They'd made it onto the same team, and best of all, their only other friend had made it too. Not Kiba, not Shino, not Choji. Naruto. "Can I join?!" Naruto looked at them with wide, sparkling eyes. "Of course!" Aria welcomed Naruto into the hug. Sasuke's face scrunched up for a second, but he found himself a bit happy. Naruto and Aria, he reassured himself, really were his friends. And not because of his clan or his looks. But because of him.
They were like a little family.
