*ROAR!*

(Cassie's POV)

Battra Girl: "Say goodbye!" She shouted as her eyes beamed a bright corrupted purple color, aimed directly at me. I immediately shut my eyes preparing to feel the burning sensation of this Battra girl's beam attack but, I felt nothing... rather... I heard a pained cry and it didn't come from me...

I reopened my eyes... only to be shocked beyond belief... Olympia... stood in front of me... with her arms out in a protective manor... as the girls beams made contact with her...

Cassie: "...O-Olympia...?" My voice trembled as the Princess looked back at me as flames engulfed her wings and body... She gave me... one last smile as the tears falling down her face, evaporated into nothing...

"I'm... Sorry..."

With one final cry of Mothra sounding throughout the area, Olympia disintegrated.. into golden dust powder...

All that's remaining, was her one Goddess Stinger sword... 

I felt the tears stream down my face as I had just watched her teammate... the optimist of Team LCOC... be reduced to dust... right in front of me......

Cassie: "O... O......... OLYMPIA!!!!!!!!!"

I gasped as my eyes shot open, revealing me to be leaned against a tree, in a forest... That dream... More like a nightmare... Ever since that night, I couldn't focus... I became more distant and quiet... and I was much more jumpy... Watching Olympia die right in front of me, messed me up... terribly... More than Blake leaving... Oh wait...-

*GUNSHOTS and STOMPS*

???: "His arm is a tree! HIS ARM IS A TREE!"

That was Jaune's voice... I got back up and looked towards the source of sound, only to see my... "New Team" fighting of a massive golem with a Grimm's face in the center.

Ruby: "Big mistake!" The fearless 16 year old shouted as she loaded Crescent Rose with Incendiary rounds before taking aim and firing at the Golem, more specifically it's Tree arm.

Jaune: "Yes!" he celebrated but I knew that it just made things worse... It seems like Jaune noticed as well as his cheers were replaced with panic as he began running away from the Golem, swinging its flaming tree arm. "BIG MISTAKE!!!"

Cassie: "Ni. San. Let's go." I commanded as my twin Dragon whips materialized next to me roaring in response. Using my Semblance, Ghidorah's Spark, I sped towards the massive Golem in a golden bolt of lightning before sending Ni and San upon it. They both grew in size, similar to the time we fought the giant Nevermore at Beacon, before biting down on the golem's arms, sending >Electrical Shocks< through the Titanus hunk of rock, all the while spreading its arms, leaving it vulnerable. "Nora!"

I blitzed over to Nora, before putting my hand on her back and using my >Electrical Shock< on her, causing her to jolt from the sudden burst of electricity.

Cassie: "Smash."

That energetic grin of hers became plastered all over her face.

Nora: "Gotcha!" After charging up Nora, I used my Semblance on her, transforming both of us into bolts of lightning, whit hers being a light pink as we rushed towards the vulnerable golem. Once up close, I released Nora as she held Magnhild over her head. "NORA SMASH!!!" She yelled as she slammed down on the Golem, causing it to shatter into pieces. Ni and San retuned to me, shrinking down to their normal size as a Geist Grimm flew out of the core of the golem, before fleeing into the forest.

Cassie: "Ruby, if you would be so kind."

She winked at me, before taking aim and firing off a Fire Dust shot at the Geist, incinerating it. Jaune walked over to us, clearly tired.

Jaune: "Another victory for Team JGNRR!" He placed his hands on his hips, looking proud as I deadpan. I walked past him with Ni and San disappearing to their resting place before shoving his back. "H-Hey!"

Cassie: "Stop wasting our time with that dumb name." I knew I couldn't see them, but I knew the others were showing some form of concern. Not only was I more distant and quiet, but for the times I actually talked, my tone always showed some form of aggression... *sigh* Olympia...... Lazarus......

"FROM THOSE... I CALL FAMILY..."
CHAPTER 1: GOD OF THE SKY

(Cassie's POV)

We had returned to the village we accepted the bounty from. Honestly, if I wasn't so dead on set on finding Cinder and this Battra girl, I would have probably settled down here... or maybe Menagerie... Oh wait, I have no home there... not anymore at least... and there's no way in hell I'm going back to my parents in Mistral. If I was to go back, I'd only be going back to see my big brother...

Mayor: "We truly can't thank you enough." The mayor of the village, who we were speaking with, responded with... well it was more like my friends were speaking to... I just stood a slight ways from behind the group, my arms crossed.

Ruby: "Just doing our job, sir!"

I just tuned out the entire conversation as I looked up to the sky. It's been... well, I honestly forgot how many months since what happened at Beacon... Two of my teammates were dead... and they were the kindest people I ever met... Olympia... what else could I say about her? She was naïve, optimistic and a bit childish... but she was the kindest of us all... Despite being a Princess, she always put others needs before her own, going as far as to take the downfall for them... Even after her tribe was wiped out, she still believed in the Black and White world her parents raised her to believe in... a world, where there is no violence, no war... Just sunshine and rainbows with everyone being happy... But, I have a feeling... no... I knew... deep down, she knew a world like that could never exist......

And then there's my leader... Laz... my first friend at Beacon... someone I could consider my equal... He was very quiet and distant at first... but that didn't stop him from doing everything in his power to ensure that we were happy... Even the times Cardin sexually assaulted me, even thought I could handle myself, he'd always be the first to do something about it... And he even sacrificed most of his mental state to save all of us... Heck, even when he was in the hospital, he helped me with winning against my brother in the tournament... My list could go on forever if I list off all the good he's done for others, and for me...

But you know what... that's not even the worst of it... after all the pain I went though, I needed someone to rely on... someone to be my emotional support... But guess what...? There. Is. NO ONE. Because the ONE person who could provide me with emotional support I needed, decided it was a good idea to just run the fuck away...

Ruby: "Cassie??" Ruby's voice snapped me out of my train of thought, for I looked down, only to see her looking up at me, in her new outfit which I had to admit, was pretty cool, showing off her growing maturity... wait... No!

She had a concerned expression on her face.

Ruby: "Are you... okay?" Ever since we started this journey, Ruby's always been there for me... Not to say the others haven't, just that she's always been the first one... I just forced a smile and placed a hand on her shoulder.

Cassie: "I am Ruby." I clearly lied... Ruby doesn't give up easily... heck, I could bet she knows I'm forcing myself to look happy, but even thought she did, she didn't pursue...

Ruby: "You know, I'll be here if you want to talk. Same for the others..."

I frowned, failing to keep up my happy impression...

Cassie: "Let's just meet up with the others. And if I fell like talking, you'll be the first one I turn to."

Ruby: "Promise?"

Cassie: "I promise."

Ruby lead me over to a blacksmith, there the others were currently present at. It was about time Jaune, got an upgrade. But he wasn't the only one getting an upgrade... When we entered it, the blacksmith, a Faunus man with horns, plopped down a new chest armor for the blonde Arc.

Blacksmith: "There you go son! Its gonna be heavier than you're used to but you'll thank me the next time you go up against a set of claws."

Jaune: "Wow... I... I don't know what to say..."

Blacksmith: "Don't gotta say anything! Just put it on! I'll go get the rest." Then he looked at me with a smile. "And I've completed your order too, young lady." He said before making his way to the back of the shop.

Nora: "So... what are you waiting for?" Nora, who was also in a new outfit, excitedly questioned.

Jaune: "Oh! Uh... right!" He quickly went over to the chest armor before taking off his old, scuffed up one. "Guess I was going to grow out of it eventually..."

Ren: "A sign of progress." Ren, who also had on a new outfit, mentioned.

Jaune: "Progress." He turned around to face us, revealing what was under that chest armor. Ruby immediately noticed and was trying her hardest not to laugh, but failed miserably. "Huh? What is it??"

Ruby: "What is THAT!?" she asked, pointing at the Cute Bunny Rabbit on Jaune's hoodie.

Jaune: "What? My hoodie? I've always had this."

Ruby: "IT HAS A CUTE LITTLE BUNNY RABBIT!" she exclaimed, her eyes falling a bit cross eyed before she fell into a fit of giggles, much to Jaune's dismay.

Jaune: "It's Pumpkin Pete! You know, from the cereal!?" That just caused her giggles to intensify.

Ruby: "What did you do!? Send in box tops for a prize!?"

Jaune: "Yeah! Fifty!" That just did it as Ruby burst out in adorable laughter, causing Jaune to slouch his shoulders in defeat.

Eventually, Ruby's laughter died down and she fell over backwards.

Ren: "Well I suppose we don't have to grow out of everything."

Ruby's response was to giggle further, her legs sticking up in the air.

Cassie: "Geez Ruby... Have some shame will you? There are boys in the room..." I mentioned, causing her giggles to immediately stop as she stood up and held her skirt down, with a massive blush of embarrassment on her face. I shook my head.

Blacksmith: "Can't have a Huntsman without his weapon!" We turned our attention to the Blacksmith, who has returned with Jaune's modified Cores Mors. The Shield opened up as he stuck it into his counter. "Made all the modifications you asked for. That was some fine metal you brought me. Accents the white nicely. Where'd you get it?"

Near the lower segment of the shield, was Pyrrha's head Crest... We all walked up to Jaune, with somber expressions.

"From a Friend..."

Blacksmith: "And your request is finish, young lady." He said, looking at me. I walked over to the counter as he took out a large Katana...

Blacksmith: "When you told me what you wanted me to do with that short sword, I was torn at first, but it turned out a hell of a lot better than I thought. Heck, it was my easiest project. How did you get it and the ornaments?" I remembered what this sword was like before... short, black handle, lightning Dust crystals... silver blade... It was Olympia's remaining Goddess Stinger... and at the end of the handle, was two key-chains... I remembered the day I got them...

(Flashback... September 30th...)

Olympia: "Happy Birthday Cassie!!!" She cheerfully yelled as her, Cassandra and Laz handed me presents each... Cassandra had put two red  ribbons in my hair while Olympia and Laz handed me two key chains... of Mothra and Ghidorah...

Cassie: "W-Wha...?"

Lazarus: "It was Olympia's idea. We tried to find a key chain of Iris, but there was none in the places we looked. So Olympia thought those Ribbons would remind you of Iris' tentacles. Happy Birthday."

Cassandra telepathically: "Happy Birthday, sis!"

Cassie: "Y-You guys..." I... I couldn't hold back my tears as I leapt into the arms of all of my Teammates... Ever since I escaped those Atlas Labs with Cassandra, I never ONCE celebrated my birthday... but I'd always celebrate Cassandra's... I told her not to celebrate mine, and for a while, she listened... But now... I forgot how it felt... to celebrate such an important moment of my life... "Thank you... I'll cherish this forever..."

(End of Flashback)

At the end of the handle of my new Katana... was those two Key Chains... and the ribbons were in my hair... I have a piece of each of my teammates with me... I felt a hand on my shoulder; Ruby... I knew it was her... I gripped the handle of my new sword and continued to look down, to hide the tears in my eyes...

"From those... I call Family..."

After which, we all waited outside for Jaune, Ruby comforting me as I gripped my new weapon.

Ruby: "What are you gonna name it?" Naming it... Right... I should name it... and I think I have the perfect name...

Cassie: "Chōetsu-tekina ten... Translation: Transcendent Heavens in Japanese. I will transcend to new heights, with this blade I hold so dear to me..."

Just then, the door of the Blacksmith's opened, revealing Jaune in his new armor.

Blacksmith: "He cleans up alright, don't you think?" All of those golden accents were from Pyrrha's discarded weapons... and the red sash on his right hip... It was also Pyrrha... Everything about his attire... The Pumpkin Pete hoodie, the golden accents, the crest on his shield, the red sash... It all screamed Pyrrha...

Ren: "He certainly does."

Nora: "I still think a grenade launcher would've REALLY brought the look together." I rolled my eyes at Nora's comment as I holstered Chōetsu-tekina ten on my back.

Ruby: "Nothing's gonna stop Team RNGJR now!"

Nora: "Team JGNRR!"

Ren: "Still not a color..."

Jaune: "It doesn't matter what we're called.... As long as we're together."

Cassie: "Finally, you said something I actually agree with..." I mumbled as I swept a strand of my now, long hair behind my ear.

Blacksmith: "You sure you kids won't stick around? You've been real good to this town."

Ruby: "Sorry, but we've got another mission."

Nora: "Make it to Haven Academy, no matter what!"

Ren: "We've heard the next village over has a working airship."

Blacksmith: "Hmm... No way to know for sure... Scroll signals were bad enough out here when Beacon Tower was still up; haven't heard from Shion Village in a while."

Ruby: "Well, there's only one way to find out!"

They waved at him as we turned to leave... Along the path, while Ren, Jaune and Nora were checking off our list of supplies, I put my hands in the pockets of my 'coat' while I thought about everyone... Cassandra was back with Yang... She didn't seem in the mood to do anything... But I can't blame her... Her literal sister, died and she couldn't do anything to stop it... Then my mind wandered over to Blake... But I shook the thought away...

Jaune: "Food?"

Nora: "Check!"

Jaune: "Water?"

Nora: "Check!"

Jaune: "How about ammo?"

Nora: "Locked and loaded, thank you Schnee Dust Company!"

Jaune: "Got the map?"

Nora: "Ren's got it."

Ren: "No, I don't. You have it." Oh boy... I already see where this is going...

Nora: "Wait what? You sure? No, Cassie has it!"

Cassie: "Nope. You have it Nora." I dryly replied with causing her to start giggling nervously...

Nora: "Uh..."

Jaune: "Guys, please tell me you're joking..."

Nora: "Uh... Heh... heh... heh..."

Jaune: "Guys! Guys!? Guys..."

Nora: "Nope!"

>>Time Skip to next day<<

The next day, we continued down the path with Ruby leading us, map in hand. Which was a terrible idea...

Ruby: "So, the next town is... uh... huh... uh huh... We're lost."

Cassie: "No we aren't you Cookie Brain, you're holding the map upside down..." I pointed out. She looked back at me, before looking at the map... She flipped it around, and began to giggle nervously. I shook my head with a sigh.

Jaune: "The next town is Shion. My family used to visit it all the time."

Ruby: "Don't you have... like four sisters?"

Jaune: "Uh, seven."

Nora: "You know, that actually explains a lot."

Jaune: "Wait, what do you mean?"

Cassie: "It means exactly what she means, Jaune." I mean I gotta admit, he rocked that Dress in the school dance like a boss.

Ruby: "What did you guys do there?"

Jaune: "Oh, all sorts of stuff!" He walked up next to Ruby and pointed to a spot on the map. "Over here is a great hiking trail, and over there is where we went camping all the time. I got my own tent because I was special. Also, so my sisters would stop braiding my hair."

Ruby: "Didn't like the look?"

Jaune: "Yeah, they just kept doing pigtails, but personally I think I'm more of a warrior's wolf-tail kind of guy." At this moment, Ren, Nora and I noticed the town in question in the distance... only thing is, it was in ruins...

Ruby: "That's just a ponytail."

Jaune: "I stand by what I said."

Nora: "Uh... guys?"

Jaune: "What?"

Jaune and Ruby looked up from the map, only to see the same thing. Jaune quickly put the map away as we all dashed towards the ruins of the town.

Jaune: "There could be survivors!"

Ren: "Over here!"

We rushed over to Ren's location, only to see a bleeding, barely conscious Huntsman.

Ruby: A Huntsman!

Jaune: "What happened? Who killed all the people?"

Huntsman: "...Bandits... The whole tribe... Then, with all the panic..." He fell into a coughing fit as I walked up to his side...

Cassie: "Grimm..."

Ren walked up next to me as Jaune, Ruby and Nora began to discuss a plan behind us...

Ruby: "We can get him to the next village and try to find a doctor there!"

Jaune: "Yeah. Ren and I can take turns carrying him there."

Nora: "I don't know if he'll make it."

Jaune: "He will. He has to." At this moment, I realized that the Huntsman's breathing seized and he fell completely limp...

Ruby: "If we get going now, our chances will be better. I can move up ahead and look for help!"

Ren: "Guys..."

The others looked at us, only to see the now dead Huntsman...

Nora: "Should we... bury him?"

Ren: "We should go. It's not safe here." Ren dryly replied, walking past us towards the exit of the village.

Nora: "Ren..." her voice showed concern. I clenched my fists and walked past them, mumbling under my breath...

Cassie: "Another life I failed to save......"

This is Cassie's new Attire. And yes, her hair is now long but remains it's purple color. Those red ribbons in her hair, are the ones Cassandra got her for her birthday. And her new weapon, Chōetsu-tekina ten will be her new main weapon, while Ni and San will support her from the side lines. So yeah. Cassie is not herself current and is obviously holding a grudge against Blake. But we'll see how that turns out.
