(Lazarus' POV)

Those massive horns from the bull's head was prominent of this Grimm, but what really caught my eye, was its humanoid figure... It roared in anger and bloodlust as it charged at her, my real mother, who wielded twin scythes. Her eyes shined a bright golden color.

Mom: You WILL NOT get anywhere near him!

The blades of her Scythes became engulfed in blue flames as she rushed at the Grimm, clashing attacks with it...

"WAKE UP YOU LAZY BUTTS!"

My eyes shot open from the sudden yelling by a girl. When I looked around, I realized that I was in the Ballroom and there was a ginger haired girl screaming and singing at the top of her lungs to this guy with black hair with a streak of magenta in it; he looked like he just wanted to die...

Ginger Hair girl: It's morning! It's morning! It's morning! It's Morning!

My thoughts: I feel oh so sorry for him...

Next to me, Ruby and Yang slept, the former groaning in annoyance while the latter snored in a way that would make Ursai jealous.

Ruby: *groans*... Five more minutes...

I shook my head and got up but before I left, I kneeled down to Ruby and Yang before planting gentle kisses on their foreheads. Yang snorted and smiled while Ruby gained a sleepy grin.

Ruby: *still half asleep* Thanks Big Bro... I love you too...

I shook my head with a slight smiled before preparing for the day.

"IT'S MORNING!"
CHAPTER 2: THE EMERALD FOREST PART 1

(3rd Person POV)

After having wakened up, Ruby, Yang and Lazarus were in the locker room, preparing their weapons for the initiation that they were going to take part in today. The same duo from before, with the ginger girl and the depressed guy, walked past them.

Yang: You seem awfully chipper this morning!

Ruby: Yep! No more awkward small talk, or "getting-to-know you" stuff. Today, I get to let my sweetheart do all the talking!

She proceeded to hug Crescent Rose as Lazarus shook his head while crossing his arms

Yang: Well remember Ruby, you're not the only one going through initiation. If you want to grow up, you're gonna have to meet new people and learn how to work together.

Ruby: Ugh, you sound like dad! Okay, first of all, what does meeting new people have to do with fighting? And secondly, I don't need people to help me grow up! I drink MILK!

Lazarus: Petals...

Ruby: Yes?

Lazarus: Chocolate Milk does not count.

Ruby's eyes widen as she suddenly grabbed her brothers shoulders and proceeded to shake him at a rapid pace though his expression didn't change from his normal stoic one.

Ruby: WHAT ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT DUMMY!? OF COURSE IT DOES! DON'T SAY STUPID THINGS LIKE THAT! TAKE IT BACK!

Lazarus: Ruby-

Ruby: NOW OR I WON'T EVER FORGIVE YOU!

Lazarus just sighed.

Lazarus: I apologize oh great cookie monster. Better?

She stopped shaking him and went on the tips of her toes before planting a kiss on Lazarus' forehead, before looking at him with a cheeky and adorable smile.

Ruby: You are forgiven!

Lazarus just sighed again before Yang began to talk.

Yang: Besides, what will you do when we actually form teams?

Ruby: I'll just be on yours or Laz's team or something...

Yang suddenly began to play with her hair and began to speak in an awkward tone.

Yang: M-Maybe you should try being on someone else's team?

Ruby seemed offended.

Ruby: My dearest sister Yang, are you implying that you do NOT wish to be on the same team as me!?

Yang: W-What!? No! Of course I do! I just thought... U-Um... L-Laz, help me out over here!

Lazarus just held his hands up in a defensive manor.

Lazarus: You said it, not me.

Yang: Damn you!

Ruby: Well at least Laz would love to be on a team with me! *Zips over to him and hugs is arm in an adorable manor* Right Laz?

Lazarus looked at her, only to see her using her ULTIMATE WEAPON... THE. PUPPY. EYES...

Lazarus sighed and patted her head gently.

Lazarus: I don't mind being on a team with anyone really. But I wouldn't mind having you as my teammates, Petals.

She smiled cheekily at him with a blush before looking at her elder sister and sticking her tongue out at her.

Yang: That's not fair! You used your adorableness on him!

Ruby: My adorableness can even make the most emotionless of people melt! I win again, Yang Xiao Long!

Yang: Well, anyways, I don't know! Maybe it would help you break out of your shell?

Ruby: What the!? I don't need to "break out of my shell"! That's absolutely-

Jaune: Ridiculous! There's no way I put my gear in locker 636 yesterday! I would've remembered having to count that high! Ugh, why does this have to happen today???

While Jaune kept on walking and Ruby and Yang continued to bicker, Lazarus looked around, wondering where Olympia or Cassie were... But what he did see, was the girl with the orange eyes, but her hood was down so he was able to see more of her features. She had long red hair, tied into a long ponytail but at the back of her head, were two red tentacles with silver bladed tips... She was quite short, shorter than Ruby and Olympia, probably Weiss' height. Her outfit was quite... tight, showing off her curvy and slightly busty stature and a bit of skin such as her thighs and stomach. She attached silver blades to her arms, which flipped to the back of them and retracted into the black gauntlets she wore. After that, she pulled up her mask and pulled her hood over her head before walking away.

Lazarus' thoughts: What were those things on the back of her head... Bladed Tentacles... Wait a second...

Bringing him out of his thoughts was the sound of Glynda Goodwitch speaking through the stereo system, telling the First Year Students to meet up at the cliff overlooking the area the Initiation was going to take place in; The Emerald Forest.

Lazarus: It's time...

After the First Years made their way over to the cliff overseeing The Emerald Forest and Ozpin started to explain what they'd be doing. However, when he explained the part about the Teams, Ruby's heart completely sank and her world seemed to shatter... Lazarus looked at her and shook his head.

Ozpin: Now, are there any questions?

Jaune: Ah, yes sir...-"

Ozpin: Good, now take your positions

Everyone besides Jaune got into a combat stance as he tried to ask Ozpin his question...

Jaune: Sir, I got a question...

The first student, which was Weiss, got launched off into the forest.

Jaune: So, this landing strategy thing, what is it? Are you like dropping us off or something?

Ozpin: No. You will be falling.

The next person got launched... then the next...

Jaune: Oh I see. Did you hand out parachutes for us?

Then another...

Ozpin: No. You will be using your own landing strategy.

Jaune: Uhhh... Yeah

Ruby and Lazarus looked over to see Yang put on aviators and wave to them before she too got launched off with a "Whoo". Then Ruby looked over to Lazarus who looked back and her and nodded. She smiled back and nodded before getting launched off. Then right then, Lazarus heard the sound of his launch pad going off before he was launched but just then, he heard Jaune's voice.

Jaune: So um... What exactly is a landing strateGYYYYYYY!!!???

Jaune couldn't even finish his sentence as he too was sent flying off of the cliff to mine and Ozpin's amusement and Glynda's dismay. As Lazarus neared the ground, he reached to his hips and un-holstered his weapons, Twin Kamas named Iblis and Mephiles.

(DISCLAIMER: Iblis is the Right Kama and Mephiles is the Left Kama)

Lazarus threw Iblis, which embedded itself into a tree bark before he pressed a button on Mephiles, causing the glowing blew orbs to start glowing purple before Lazarus was suddenly "yanked" towards the tree Iblis was embedded into. Once he got near it, he pried Iblis out of the bark before jumping from tree to tree, eventually landing safely in the ground, holstering the twin scythes back on his hips. As he walked through the forest, he began thinking about who he'd find for a teammate.

Lazarus's thoughts: Well, obviously there is Ruby and Yang...Besides them, who else do I know here? Hmm... There's Olympia. She's sweet, shy but if she's of the Mosura bloodline, then she'll be more than powerful. There's also Cassie but I'm not sure of her capabilities... though I sense some strong energy from her. Who else... Weiss... I don't think I can live on the same team as here... There was also that Jaune guy... He seemed alright, even though I didn't know him too well but I get the feeling that he's not the best of fighters... Hmm...

The sound of a roar and of flesh being ripped apart brought the horned vampire out of his thoughts. Pushing a couple of bushes out of the way, brought him to a slightly open area where the girl from earlier, the one with the red hair and the blades on her arms was; she had a Beowolf impaled on one of her arm blade.

Lazarus' thoughts: A brute fighter... Hmm... She seems really strong...-

Yet again he was brought out of his thoughts, this time by a golden beam flying right past his head. Lazarus looked back at the girl, who dawned a scowl, showing off fangs with one of her bladed tentacles aiming at him, with a glowing golden orb in between the tips. Lazarus quickly put his hand us.

Lazarus: I mean you now harm-

Not even letting him finished, she leaped at him with a snarl, swinging one of her blades down on him but Lazarus quickly un-holstered Iblis and blocked the strike. The girl growled before throwing rapid strikes at Lazarus, with both of her blades and the bladed segments of her tentacles, however, Lazarus simply parried with Iblis. Her attacks were wild, but predictable. As Lazarus blocked and parried her bestial strikes, he tried to reason with her.

Lazarus: I mean you no harm! We're supposed to be partners and partners don't go at each other's throats! So please, calm down!

With a yell, the girl thrust her right blade forwards but Lazarus caught her hand with his left hand. She tried with her other hand but he blocked with Iblis. He could see her about to attack with her tentacles, but we wasn't going to allow her, so he let of a Iblis, letting it fall to the ground before bending both of her firmly grabbing both of her arms and holding them behind her back but in a way that her tentacles were immobile. Her eyes were widened in shock but had no time to react further as Lazarus pushed her against a tree's back, pinning her up against it. She did her best to break free, but her struggling proved futile.

Lazarus: Please, we do not have to fight. We have a bigger goal here and that's getting a relic and getting out of this forest, alive. So either you'll put up with me or we both fail the initiation. Your choice.

She looked at him with a slight scowl but, exhaled and looked at him with a slightly calmer expression but it still showed much distrust and a slight bit of hatred. Seeing her slightly calm down, Lazarus released her. Her blades folded back up onto her arms.

Lazarus: Okay. First of all-

Before he could finish, the girl grabbed him by the collar and pulled him down to her level before forcefully pushing her lips against his. Lazarus' eyes widen form the shock as the girl deepened the kiss before pulling away with a slight blush on her face, but her eyes glowed a deep orange.

Lazarus: Okay... What...?

She looked at him directly in the eyes before her began to glow.

??? telepathically: There. Can you hear me?

Lazarus telepathically: Um What...?

??? telepathically: Okay. I'm Cassandra. And DON'T you dare take that kiss the wrong way. Let's just get this stupid relic so I won't have to talk to your dumbass again.

The girl named Cassandra began to walk off as Lazarus just stared in disbelief before picking up his Iblis and holstering it on his hip.

Lazarus telepathically: Well okay then... Why did you have to kiss me though......

Cassandra telepathically: Because it was necessary to communicate with such a brain dead idiot such as yourself.

Yang and a girl with long black hair with a bow, named Blake made their way out of the forest and they both saw a broken down temple, with black and gold chess pieces on pedestals.

Yang: You think this is it?

Blake just eyed Yang before walking down towards the temple. Yang soon after followed her. As they neared it, they noticed that the "Relics" looked awfully a lot like...

Blake: Chess pieces?

Yang looked around but noticed that some of them were missing.

Yang: Looks like we weren't the first ones here.

Blake: Well... I guess we should pick one.

Yang looked around, only to walk up to and pick up a knight.

Yang: How about a cute little pony?

Blake just rolled her eyes in amusement as she smiled at the blonde

Blake: Sure.

Yang: This wasn't so hard.

Blake: Well, it's not like this place is difficult to find.

Suddenly, the sounds of a pained roar followed up by gunshots and the slicing of flesh grabbed the attention of the Bumblebee duo. When they looked to their left, they saw an Ursa fly out of the forest before landing on the ground and disintegrating. From the forest, Lazarus and Cassandra walked out, the former with his Iblis and Mephiles in their twin blaster forms as the latter had her blades deployed.

Yang: Laz! Over here!

They looked to see Yang and Blake. Cassandra scowled upon seeing them and began to grown but Lazarus put his hand in front of her. He looked at her, only to see her scoff at him and began to walk towards the temple where Blake and Yang stood at.

Lazarus: Yang. And...

Blake: Blake.

Lazarus: A pleasure to meet you, Blake. So you are the partner of my dear sister. I wish you the best of luck. She's more than a handful.

Yang: Laz!

Blake chuckled.

Blake: Noted.

Yang: Hmph. Anyways, who's the busty chick next to you?

Lazarus: That is Cassandra, my "Partner".

Upon hearing the word partner, Cassandra glared at Lazarus, growling before turning her back to him with a barely audible "Hmph".

Yang: Seems like you made your first enemy, bro!

Lazarus: Unfortunately...

Before anything else could be said, a loud high pitched scream caught their attention.

Yang: Did you guys hear that? Some girl is in trouble! What should we do?

Cassandra: *grunts while deadpanning*

Lazarus: I don't think that was a girl, Yang...

Blake just stayed quiet as she looked directly up... She then poked Lazarus's arm and pointed up. He then looked up as well, only to see...

Lazarus: Oh...

Yang and Cassandra noticed this before looking up only to see a familiar girl in a red cloak falling from the sky...

Ruby: HEADS UUUUUUP!
