I watched as the beast walked away from the library. Sacre bleu. I should've at least gotten to know his name. That would be way easier than calling him the beast. He doesn't even act like a true bacca! Which is kinda strange.....
I shook those thoughts out of my head and walked into the library. As soon as I was inside a large gasp escaped my mouth. Shelves upon shelves of books lined every wall. I smiled at how many books there were.
"I wonder if he's read all these books?" I said, referring to the beast.
"I'm sure he has." A voice replied from behind a bookshelf. A few seconds later, a teapot appeared out of nowhere.
"Why hello there." I said politely. "Who are you?"
"My name is Robert, but you can call me Rob. My friend Lachlan is also around here somewhere. He gets too shy when meeting other people. Hold on a minute while I go find him." Rob replied before running off to find Lachlan.
While I waited, I looked through some of the books close by. Most of them were history textbooks or poetry. I even found a few books in Greek and German!
"Misour! I have found my friend! Lachlan say hi!" Rob called out from across the room. I walked over to him to see a little teacup hiding behind him.
"Hi..." Lachlan said shyly. He had an Australian accent, while Rob's was like mine. We both had Canadian accents. I smiled and knelt down in front of the two of them and lifted them up in my hands.
"Bonjour! My name's Mitch. But a few of my friends call me Benja. Can you show me some books? Mostly spell books?" I asked, tilting my head to the side.
"Bien sur! Follow me and Lachlan! We'll show you where to go!" Rob said as he hopped off my hands. I placed Lachlan on my shoulder, and followed after Rob.
Lachlan snuggled into my hood and giggled. Rob let me through countless book cases before stopping in front of some dusty ones. I started to look through the books and saw that all the dusty ones were spell books.
"I'm guessing these books haven't been touched in awhile?" I asked Lachlan. He nodded his little teacup head and we continued on.
I finally found a book that looked exactly like the book Seto had given me before I went and searched for my father. I grabbed the book off the shelf, blew off the dust, and walked over to a nearby table to sit down at.
"What have you got there, mon amie?" Rob asked as he and Lachlan hopped onto the table.
"It's only a simple spell book. You guys wanna see some magic?" I asked as I opened up the book. The two nodded. I smiled and turned a few pages until I got to the one I wanted.
"His verbis simplex, si avis creatus sit, et explosions sunt lux et color de caelo." As soon as the spell was finished, sparks shot out of the book and exploded into fireworks.
Lachlan and Rob 'oo'ed at the fireworks that I had created. I smiled at their reactions and continued where I left off at home.

I was almost finished with the spell book, when a knock came from behind the library doors. I got up from my table and went over to the doors. I opened them to reveal a large cart being wheeled in by no one. On top of the cart was Preston, Jess, and Vik. They were all smiling.
"Bonjour, mon amie!" Preston greeted. "We have come to invite you to dinner. Unfortunately, our Master won't be joining us this evening. But I promise you, dinner will be fantastique!"
"Thank you for all your kindness Preston. Let me go get Rob and Lachlan from the table." I said. Preston and Vik's eyes shined at the sound of Rob and Lachlan's names. Maybe they're in love? And I'm kinda upset that the Beast isn't joining me. I miss his caramel colored eyes already. Wait, what? Am I falling for him just from a simple meeting?
I came back with Rob and Lachlan and set them down on the cart. They immediately went over to Preston and Vik. If Preston and Vik weren't inanimate objects, I'm sure they would've been blushing.
"Now mon amie, follow the cart!" Jess exclaimed as the cart started moving. I followed along behind them, gazing at all the pictures and armor stands that lined the walls. One picture held a family of three. A mother, father, and little boy. Upon closer inspection, the boy had the same eyes as the Beast's. Was this him before this cursed was placed? He looked kinda cute at that age. Okay. Again? Seriously mind? I've known this guy for two hours and I'm already getting attracted!
"Mitch! Dépêchez-vous! This castle is very large, so you don't want to get lost!" Preston exclaimed from the ongoing cart.
I sprinted after the cart and began to walk alongside it.
"So Mitch." Vik said, trying to bring up conversation in the silent halls. "Do you mind if I ask what your life was like before you came here? Or is that too personal?"
I shook my head. "No, it's fine." I took a deep breath. "Before I came to this castle, I was known as the wierd one of the village I grew up in. I grew up as the inventor's son. Well, step-son that is, but I think of him as my real father. I only had two friends in the village. Their names were Joseph and Seto. Joseph was a baker with a cat named Stampy. Everyday he'd be the first one to wake up so he could give me some fresh baked pastries.
And Seto? He was like my teacher. He taught me all he knew about magic. My mother was a sorceress before she died of cancer." I pulled out my dog tags from inside my shirt. "These dog tags are the last living memory of her."
I grew quiet as I stuffed my dog tags inside my shirt again. The others looked at me with sadness in their faces.
"And your real father?" Jess asked quietly.
I sighed as tears pricked my eyes. This subject was touchy, but I needed to get it out. I can't be afraid of this anymore.
"My father, was a one night stand. He left my mother to care for me all one her own. That's why Crainer is my father. He played the role my father never did."
I heard the others gasp at my answer. I looked away from them as a few tears escaped my eyes. I wiped them away and looked at the ground in front of me.
The first time I heard this, I was overcome by anger and hate. But that quickly dwindle into depression. That was around the time my mother was diagnosed with cancer. She survived four years before the cancer overtook her. I was only 16 when she passed. Her death has caused the depression to continue, but I try my best to control it. I try to smile genuine smiles. But sometimes, the fake smiles just take over.
I composed myself before turning back to the objects. Their faces showed sadness, comfort, and sympathy. I smiled a small smile before the cart stopped abruptly in front of a large set of spruce doors. We entered the room to be greeted by a long table in front of a large fireplace. We reached one end of the tables when Rob began to talk.
"Here is the dining room! Me and Preston will go check on Ian to see if he is ready." Rob told me.
"Hey, do you mind if I meet this Ian guy?" I asked as the others jumped off the cart and onto the table.
"Of course! I'm sure Ian would love to meet you mon amie." Preston said before Rob could even open his mouth. I smiled as Rob and Preston led me to another set of double doors that opened to reveal a hard working stove, who I figured was Ian.
"Mitch this is Ian. Ian! Arrêtez! We have a guest!" Preston told Ian. Ian stopped what he was doing and looked over at us. I waved.
"Why bonjour misour! What a plaisir to meet you!" Ian exclaimed from his spot by the wall.
"Nice to meet you too Ian. What's for dîner?" I asked as the smell of marinara and noodles filled my nose.
"It's a specialty dish my mother used to make for me called Pâtes aux crevettes. It's basically spaghetti with shrimp." Ian explained. "I hope you're hungry. Because dinner's almost prêt!"
To answer his question, my stomach growled. I gave embarrassed laugh as Ian, Preston, and Rob chuckled.
"Alright, guess that answers that. Come Mitch! Let's get you seated hmm?" Rob said as he ushered me out of the kitchen and into the nearest seat.
Soon, three plate of food was brought out to me. One held the spaghetti and shrimp dish Ian told me about. Another held garlic bread, and the last one held some salad.
I picked up my fork and spun it in the spaghetti. I made sure to grab a shrimp before popping it in my mouth. The taste was fantastic! It tasted like shrimp, of course with a hint a lemons and marinara.
"Thank you so much Ian!" I yelled so he could hear me. "This is délicieux!"
"My pleasure!" He yelled back.
I smiled and continued to eat my food, talking with the others as I did so.
~Time Skip~
After dinner, Vik and Lachlan took me to where I would sleep for however long I would be here. I thanked them as they left and let out a heavy sigh as soon as the door was closed.
I walked over to the bed that sat on the far wall and sat down on top of it.
Sacre bleu. I miss Crainer already. But, something about the Beast is drawing me to him. But what could it be? Could it be the desire for me to get to know him? Or help him with his curse? Or is it the one thing I've been trying to find for 4 years now? Am I falling for the Beast? Maybe I am. But why would he want to love me?
I grew tired as I continued to think. I laid down under the warm, comfy sheets and thought a little more before I slipped into a deep sleep.
The last thing that went through my mind was, "I think I'm in love with the Beast......"
~3rd Person POV~
Deep in the forest, an old man sits on a root along the path. He shivers in the cold as he glares at the silhouette of the castle.
" I'll save you Mitch! Even if I have to get Ty to help....."
The old man thought as he got up from the ground and made his way back to the village he had lived in before this mess had occurred.
