27 ~ Broken Illusion : Part-3 ~

11: 30 A.M.

Living Room

" Khushi..." Arnav whispered while his voice was hoarse with the stabbing pain he was feeling now.. The realization that his father Arunoday truly had loved his mother Ratna but unfortunately both of them played and separated by the vile woman Subhadra, was enough to boil his blood as well break his heart...

" Suhhhh... Arnav... You have to be strong now.. You cannot be weak... Mr Mallik is breaking down and looks at Naniji... You are everyone's strength Arnav..." Khushi said tried to control her own tears which she was feeling presently looking at the broken Man before her..

" And you are MY STRENGTH, Khushi.... Don't leave my Hands... Ever..." Arnav whispered back while he desperately clutches Khushi's hands within his huge one, for his dear life....

Khushi was taken aback at the moment by this gesture of Arnav. She has witness the same caring Arnav whom she had seen and became habituated in these 6 months time period. Not only that, Khushi still could not able to overcome the shock, the way Arnav shouted against Sheetal and stood by her, declared that Khushi is his wife for lifetime... Was it true or Arnav was just pretending ??

Khushi's trance was broken listening Veer voice. But before focusing what Veer was saying Khushi looked at their entwined hands, with every passing second Arnav's holds on her hand was just increasing.

Khushi could not able to ponder over Arnav's words or behaviour at present but her focused shifted to a very angry Veer, " How dare you Mrs Mallik, How could you play such nasty game? You are a woman.. Did not you felt a little bit affection towards this man who adore and worshiped you as a mother?" Veer pointed towards a broken Arunoday who sitting like a statue.

" Why should I feel for the son of Sunaina? I am happy that I had snatched everything from him.. His love Ratna committed suicide after knowing about Kamini.. His second wife, Kamini always accused herself for ruining Ratna's life and thus there is always a distance between her and Arunoday, his own blood Anjali and Arnav hates him.. and Veer, his another son, I made him a toy in my play.. Me, with the help of my partner in crime Shyam and Sheetal destroyed successfully Arun and Ratna's children." Subhadra smirked cunningly making Devyani, Manohor and Manorama along with other's flinch in their position.

" Why did you destroyed my sister life? What did Ratna do to you? She was your friend's daughter, right?" Manohor asked while helpless tears were rolling down from his eyes.

" Because, your sister Ratna was becoming the thrown in my path. Arun was madly in love with her. So, I have to remove her from my way...Thus I plan not only to separated Arun and Ratna, but put so much venom in Arun's mind that a heartbroken Arun choose to betray Ratna. The moment I got the news that Kamini is pregnant with Arun's child, I knew I have won the battle. If, by any chance Arun by then came to know about the truth that Anjali and Arnav being his own children, he will repent but nothing can be changed. The truth will remain same that Arunoday cheated Ratna.. But to my good luck before Arun came to know the truth, Ratna came to know about Kamini and Veer, and committed suicide... Sorry to say Devyani, your daughter is a weak woman.." Subhadra mocked looking at a grieving Devyani..

" Don't you uttered a single word against Ratnaji.. She was not weak, but she was strong and a pure soul. No woman can ever accept that her man is betraying her. Ratnaji loves her husband more than her ownself.. And it was way too much to accept the truth of cheating.. Don't you dare to insult Ratnaji's love by tagging her as a weak woman." Everyone was taken aback by Kamini's words who spoke for the first time that to defend Ratna Ray.

Arnav was looking at the woman with unfathomable expression in his eyes. Ohh.. How he had misjudged this lady who was herself being manhandled and manipulated throughout her life...

Arnav then looked at his father and could not help but felt pity by remembering what a lie he has lived for his entire life...

His and everyone's thought was broken by a sarcastic laugh by Subhadra.

" OHHH.... I must say, Arun was lucky, both the woman of his life are kind hearted and loved him truly.. But alas he is too unfortunate to understand and cherish that. Ratna was gone and I made sure that Arun always misunderstand Kamini. Because I always hated the gut of this woman..What Ratna failed to do, Kamini did that...I mean one day, Kamini came to know about my true face and she tried to reveal it to Arunoday.. But I somehow managed. And then I planned to make her life hell.. As usual I manipulated Arun against Kamini and he used to abuse and manhandled her. Arun only tolerated Kamini because he wanted Veer. Because for Arunoday, Veer is his only biological child. Poor Arun used his own child Veer as a weapon against his other children Anjali and Arnav.. I just watch my victory in peace." Subhadra paused for a little looking at the faces which depict pain, shock, anger, betrayal and disgust..

But she least bothered..

" So, finally I made the lethal plan. To kill Arnav and Anjali, the grandchild of Sunaina. Shyam had married Anjali so that he can gather information about them and slowly he planted Sheetal in Arnav's life. Our plan was full proof and Arunoday, you remember the mechanic who was servicing Shyam's car? He was actually preparing the car for brake fail. In front of your eyes, I made the plan, you witnessed it and when the accident news came to you, you thought it was truly an accident. Even I noticed the restlessness in you, after all Arnav and Anjali was your Ratna's blood.I even noticed the way you wanted to reach to the hospital where they were admitted.. So, I just reminded you about Ratna's betrayal and you forgot about the soft feelings you were getting at that time.. And taunted Arnav in the hospital who was fighting with death.." Subhadra again sips water and continue.

" Our plan got wasted because Arnav recovered and that's why we faked Shyam's death. And besides, we create proof to trap Veer in the accident fiasco, and we became successful.. Then we used Sheetal to get the property but Veer destroyed our plan.. Though initially I thought Veer is in our side but after the day of Holi, I am sure Veer is protecting Arnav..Now I don't know how suddenly Veer became that soft towards Arnav and how Arnav find out the truth? Can you enlighten us Mr AR?" Subhadra smirked after confessing all her dirty secrets.

" You are so shameless woman.. I have never seen a vile woman like you in my whole life.. My devi maiyaa will punish you severely for destroying so many life in your jealousy..." Khushi said feeling disgusted after the whole confession made by Subhadra.

" And you.. You just shut your mouth... an orphan, what do you think that you will remain in this house and enjoy the luxuary? Wait... We have made plan for you too.. Soon your days will finish on this earth. You..." Before Subhadra could uttered any more words a loud thud sound was echoed in the living room. Everyone was shocked seeing the scene unfolding in front of them...

Subhadra is now lying on the floor, the chair on which she was sitting few moments ago was almost broken. Arnav was standing nearby seething with extreme fury. His eyes were red in anger, whole body was stiffen, jaw clenched painfully.

It was then understands by everyone that Arnav had pushed the chair with such a force that Subhadra just fell down.

" What is this Arnav? How could you manhandle me ? I am your dadi..." Subhadra said in her angry voice.

" Dadi?? I am ashamed that once I had called you dadi.. You are a black spot on the name of mother, grandmother, wife , friend, infact for every relationship.. You should thank my mother for teaching me, not to ever hurt a woman physically, otherwise you would have been dead by now, Mrs Subhadra Mallik. How dare you to utter Khushi's name by your filthy mouth? HOW DARE YOU?" Arnav was about to go towards Subhadra in rage but Aman and Akash hold on him by both sides.

" Don't.. Arnav.. don't dirty your hand by touching this woman.. She will be taken care of very well.." Aman said while few police officers entered in Ray Mansion..

" What is all this? Why Police is there?" Sheetal spoke after so long clearly her voice was shaking.

" Ohhh.. Miss Khanna.. Police is here for taking you both to your rightful place." Akash smirked looking at the paled face of Sheetal.

Soon enough the police arrested both Subhadra Mallik and Sheetal Khanna. Sheetal screams, " I doesn't do anything. Everything is done by this maniac lady Subhadra Mallik.. please believe me..." But no one listen to her plead as enough proof was there to put her behind the bar. And Veer just stop Sheetal when she was about to exist from the main door.

" Wait Sheetal.." Veer said making everyone surprise..

" Look Veer, I know you will believe about my innocence.. I know you will stand by me, after all you are my fiancé..You love me right?" Sheetal said thinking that she can again trap Veer and get out of this mess by using him.

" Sorry to burst your bubble Ms Khanna.. I never loved you..The only woman I ever loved was Lavanya Basu.. I am here to take the thing from you which is not yours." Saying that Veer just snatched the ring from Sheetal's finger which was their engagement ring.. "and here , I broke my engagement with you Ms Sheetal Khanna.. You are a closed chapter for me now..Officers, please take her with you." Veer said and turn on his heel..

" You all will suffer... My brother Shyam will take revenge.." Sheetal shouted while the police forcefully took her from there.

On the other hand, Subhadra Mallik was very composed. When the lady police officer was handcuffing her she just said in arrogance, "Soon enough I will be out of jail."

" I will see about the matter that your rest of life should spend behind the bar." Arnav spat venom..

Suddenly Subhadra comes very close to Arnav and whispered in her cold voice, " Soon, Shyam will come to avenge you all... Remember Arnav, I had snatched your grandmother's life, destroyed your parent's life, killed your sister... Now... one person is untouched... Your wife... soon... You will lose her..." Subhadra smirked coldly making Arnav froze in his place. Subhadra uttered all those words in such low voice that only Arnav could hear..

Soon enough the police took both Subhadra and Sheetal from the house but Arnav was still standing like a statue. But his trance was broken by the loud screaming from Kamini, " Mr Mallik... Arun...What happened to you??"

Arnav snapped his head towards the sound a found that his father was holding his chest while his face become red in extreme pain...

Arnav felt his whole body went numb looking at the scene in front of him. He slowly took baby steps towards the man whom he had hated throughout his entire life. But today, after the revelation Arnav felt his heart cried out for the man who is his biological father.

" Please.. Someone call the ambulance.." Arnav could hear Veer was shouting holding Arunoday in his arms but Arunoday's eyes were on Arnav only.

Without breaking the eye lock Arnav finally looked at the broken man intently sitting infront of him.. Without any words exchanged there were tears on both of their eyes. Both of them had lost many thing in their life, many beautiful relationship just because of Subhadra Mallik.. But the one relationship which they can still try to survive is Father Son relationship..

With his trembling hands and painful demeanour, Arunoday finally raised his hands and folded in front of Arnav. With lots of struggle Arunoday finally uttered those words, " For..forgive me, Chotey..." and closed his eyes..

Arnav felt his words struck in his throat. He wanted to scream aloud, he wanted to say many things to his father but he only witness him to close his eyes in front of him...
