Haseena is surprised to see Anubhav. She is happy but doesn't know how to express it. His smile is giving butterflies to her.
"Aap... Aap yanha?" She can manage to say only these words.
His smile vanishes and says, "Thik hain, wapas jaate hain."
"Arey nayi..." She holds his hand when he turns to go. He looks at her and then at their hands. She leaves his hand in embarrassment.
"Sorry..." She says while looking down.
He softly asks, "Andar nahi bulayengi aap hume?"
She looks at him and smiles, "Aayiye naa... Please..."
They enter the house. He asks, "Ammi, kanha hain?"
"Woh hum walk par gaye the toh thoda thak gayi thi. Iss liye rest kar rahi hain" She replies.
He nods. She says, "Aap baithiye naa... Hum aapke liye chai laate hain."
"Aap banayengi?" He is shocked. And the reality hits her. She doesn't know how to cook food or make tea or coffee. Yeah, there is no big deal in it but she doesn't know. It's as simple as someone knowing these skills.
She bites her tongue and tries to say, "Woh... Hum..."
He understands. He smiles at her cute antics and says, "Hum samaj gaye. Chaliye, hum aapke liye coffee bana dete hain."
"Aapko aati hain?" She asks surprisingly.
"Haan, isme kaun si badi baat hain. Hume sab aata hain. Chaliye, aapko bhi sikha dete hain" He gets up and they go to the kitchen.
"Doodh kanha hain?" He asks while taking a utensil and lighting up the gas.
She opens the fridge and passes a packet of milk to him. He smiles and starts to make the coffee. She is just gazing at him, leaning on a wall.
He says, "Waise aapko nahi lagta ki ab aapko khana banana sikh lena chahiye. Kal ko agar shaadi ho jaayegi aapki toh aapke sasural walon se bahut sun-na padega aapko."
She gets angry and replies, "Toh phir hume aisa sasural nahi chahiye."
He looks at her, "Aap toh krodhit ho gayi!"
She explains emotionally, "Nahi, hum gussa nahi hain. Hum yeh samajhte hain ki cooking and cleaning basic kaam hain. Aur yeh har kisi ko aane chahiye. Hume bhi aane chahiye the. Par humara dhyaan poori tarah se apne career par tha aur Ammi ne bhi kabhi hume force nahi kiya. Ammi thi iss liye kabhi hume bhi isko sikhne ki zaroorat mehsoos nahi hui. Par ab jab Ammi beemar hain toh hume realize hua ki humne kitna important chapter miss kar diya hain apni life ka. Yeh toh shukr hain ki Shivu humare saath hain. Warna hume bahut mushkil hoti sab sambhalne mein."
Then she looks at him and says seriously, "Aur hume cooking ki importance pata hain. Iss liye hum isse sikhna chahte hain. Aur zaroor sikh kar rahenge. Par iss liye nahi ki sasuraal walon ke tane se bachna hain. Balki iss liye ki hume yeh aana chahiye. Hum apne liye sikhna chahte hain."
He smiles at her, "Achchhi baat hain" and focuses on the coffee again.
"Ek baat puchhe aapse, Mr. Singh?" She asks.
"Aap Anubhav keh sakti hain" He says without looking at her.
"Anubhav" She pauses a bit and again asks, "Ek baat puchhe aapse?"
"Ji" He looks opposite to her as he wants to hide his blush.
(Yes, Men also blush)
"Aap muskurate hue achchhe lagte hain. Toh phir apni muskaan se nata kyun tod diya hain aapne?" Her voice is serious.
He looks at her with a stern face and replies, "Haseena ji, kuch kshatiya (chotein) aise hote hain jo shigra nahi bharte. Aisa hi kuch humare saath bhi hain."
He pours the coffee into two cups and gives one to her.
She takes it and says, "Anubhav, har ghav, har zakham bhara jaa sakta hain. Basharte itni si hain ki aap uss ghav ko bharne dena chahte hain!"
He looks at her with surprise. She continues. "Apne dil par haath rakhkar ek baat sach sach kahiye, Anubhav. Aap uss haadse ko bhula nahi paaye hain ya aap uss hadse ko bulana hi nahi chahte?"
He looks down. She again asks, "Nazre churane se jawab badal nahi jaayega, Anubhav. Kab tak aap unhi kadvi yaadon mein khoye rahenge? Aap koshish toh kijiye usse bahar aane ki. Aap khud ko behtar paayenge."
He takes a sip of coffee and tries to change the topic, "Coffee kaisi bani hain?"
She smiles with a sigh. "Chaliye baith kar baatein karte hain!"
They go to the hall and sit on the couch.
She says with a smile while sipping her coffee, "Maan na padega, aisi coffee humne aaj tak nahi pee. Sach much, aapke haaton mein toh jaadu hain."
He chuckles, "mithya prashansa (jhuthi tarif) ke liye bahut bahut dhanyawaad."
"Hum jhuth nahi bolte, Anubhav" She says confidently.
He smirks, "Kamal hain, aap ek wakeel hoke jhuth nahi bolti! Wakeelon ki naak kata di aapne?"
"Oh Hello, aap sabhi wakeelon ko ek jaisa mat samjhiye. Hum mein se bahut bahut saare hain jo sachchaai ke liye ladte hain."
"Arey baba... Aap toh baat baat par gambhir ho jaati hain. Hum toh bas aise keh rahe the. Hum kshama prarthi hain. Kshama kar dijiye hume. Bhala aapse panga lekar hume jail thodi jaana hain!"
"Aap mazak uda rahe hain humara?" She angrily asks.
"Arey nahi baba!" He tries to explain, "Humare andar itna sahas nahi hain ki aapka upahaas uda sake. Humne kaha naa ki hume aapse dand nahi chahiye."
She glares at him grumpily and says, "Hume aapki tarif hi nahi karni chahiye thi."
"Kintu aapne toh kar di! Khair, ab jo ho gaya so ho gaya. Ab kya hi kar sakte hain" He teases her.
She sighs and finishes her coffee. He too finishes his coffee.
She asks, "Waise aapne yanha aane ki wajah nahi batayi?"
He looks into her eyes and says huskily, "Kyun? Bina kisi kaaran hum yanha nahi aa sakte kya?"
She falls silent for a few seconds. She looks to the other side and says, "Humne aisa toh nahi kaha!"
"Toh aapko achchha lagega humara iss tarah se bina bataye aapke ghar aana?" He asks.
She closes her eyes and replies while hiding her smile, "Hume bura nahi lagega."
He smiles at her answer. He holds her hand. She turns to him and gazes at him with eyes filled with unknown emotions.
He asks, "Aapko yanha koi peeda toh nahi ho rahi hain naa?"
She looks down and replies, "Agar koi takleef hui bhi toh hume usse nipatna aata hain. Aapko humare liye itna protective hone ki zaroorat nahi."
He doesn't like this answer. He leaves her hand and is about to get up but she holds his hand tightly.
She looks at him and says, "Itna gussa thik nahi hain, Anubhav. Humne kaha ki aapko protective hone ko zaroorat nahi hain. Yeh nahi kaha ki aapka humara saath dena hume achchha nahi lagta."
He looks down and replies, "Parantu janha saath hota hain, wanha chinta hoti hain. Aur yadi chinta hoti hain toh suraksha bhi karenge naa hum! Swabhavik si baat hain."
She nods, "Hmm... Baat sahi hain aapki. Par na jaane kyun apake protectiveness se hume darr lagta hain."
He looks at her. His feelings are confused by this answer. What is she trying to say? Is he overprotective? Is he over-possessive? Why did she say this?
"Hum samjhe nahi?" He says.
She replies, "Samjhane ke liye humare paas koi shabd nahi hain. Hume aisa lagta hain ki aap apne andar dard ke saath saath darr bhi chhupakar rakhte hain. Iss liye apne apno ke liye kuch zyada hi possessive aur protective hain. Khair, chhodiye iss baat ko. Woh baatein nahi karni chahiye jisse aapko takleef ho. Kuch aur baatein karte hain naa..."
He sighs and says while looking into her eyes, "Hume kuch kehna hain!"
She smiles, "Kya aapko uss sawal ka jawab mil gaya jo aap dhundh rahe the?"
He smiles and says, "Kadachit (shayad) Haan ya phir Kadachit Naa"
She looks at him confusingly and he replies, "Abhi uss baare mein hum nishchit nahi hain. Jis samay nishchit ho jaayenge hum aapko bata denge."
She shakes her head.
He says, "Hum yanha aapse kshama maangne aaye the!"
She shifts her gaze to him with confusion.
He inhales deeply and speaks, "Haan, hum aapse kshama maangne aaye the."
"Magar kis liye?"
"Har cheez ke liye" He deeply looks into her eyes, "Har uss cheez ke liye jisse aapka hriday dukha ho humare karan. Jab jab humare upar humara krodh havi hua tab tab humne apna saara krodh aap par nikal diya. Ab chahe woh chikitsalay mein humari pratham bhent ke samay ho ya phir humare ghar mein. Humne kayi baar aapko bahut kuch keh diya tha jo hume nahi kehna chahiye tha. Hum unn sab cheezon ke liye kshama chahte hain, Haseena!"
She closes her eyes for a couple of seconds. She likes how he addressed her as Haseena instead of adding a 'ji' with her name.
She says sweetly, "Har baat ko kehne ki zaroorat nahi hoti, Anubhav. Kuch baatein samjhi bhi jaati hain. Jaise hum samajh gaye. Aapko humse maafi maangne ki koi zaroorat nahi hain. Hum aapko ab achchhe samajhne lage hain."
He smiles, "Dhanyawad"
She doesn't reply.
A few seconds later, he adds, "Waise hume kuch aur bhi batana hain aapko?"
"Kya?" She asks casually.
"Kal hum agle 5 mahino ke liye videsh yatra par jaa rahe hain."
"What?" She almost screams making him scared. She controls herself and asks, "5 mahino ke liye? Kuch... z...zyada nahi ho jaayega?"
"Vyaapari hain hum. Vyaapar ke liye jaana padta hain" He answers calmly.
She nods with a hmm. She gets up and stands in front of a mirror. She says, "Toh aap yeh batane aaye the ki aap business trip par jaa rahe hain. Aur iske liye itna sab kuch keh diya?"
He gets up and goes near to her. While standing behind her, he looks into her eyes. She too looks into his eyes. He raises his hands and hesitantly puts his hands on her shoulders. Her heartbeat increases.
He asks, "Aapko bura lag raha hain ki hum jaa rahe hain?"
She lowers her eyelids, "Bhala hume kyun bura lagega?"
He smiles, "Aap chinta mat kijiye. Yeh 5 mah 5 diwas ke jaise beet jaayenge. Aap humari pratiksha karengi naa?"
"Tch" She denies with a grumpy face making him chuckle.
"Yadi aap na chahe toh bhi humari pratiksha toh aapko karni padegi. Wapas aakar hume aapko aapke prashno ke uttar bhi toh dena hain."
He makes her turn to him and cups her face. She puts her hands on his chest. They both lost in each other's eyes for some minutes. He slowly bends down and presses his lips against her forehead. She closes her eyes tightly while clutching his shirt on his chest. Both are feeling a different yet most beautiful emotion inside them.
He looks at her calmly. She opens her eyes and looks at him.
"Hum chalte hain" He says and turns to go.
When he is about to open the door she calls him, "Suniye..."
He stops. She comes near and stands in front of him. They don't say anything. She quickly hugs him tightly closing her eyes. He too wraps his arms around her.
She softly speaks, "Apna khayal rakhna."
They break the hug. He opens the door but again she holds his hand. He turns to her. She puts some pressure on her toes and tries to match with his height. She kisses his cheeks softly and pushes him outside the home. And quickly closes the door, locks it, and rests her back on the door with closed eyes to control her abnormal breathing.
On the other hand, Anubhav is just standing surprised and confused. He is trying to find out what has just happened with him. What has she done now? He slowly smiles. His smile turns into a large one. He runs his fingers into his hair to control his feelings. He is so happy that he can't express it now.
He sits in his car and starts it with the same large ear-to-ear smile on his face. Haseena sees him from the window. She too smiles at him.
"Humne kaha tha naa... Muskurate hue aap bahut achchhe lagte hain, Mr. Khadus" She stops and speaks, "Nahi nahi... Kadus nahi... Mr. Sweet! Humare Mr. Sweet!" She giggles happily.
