Crap.
I slowly turn around and meet his eyes. "Would you believe me if I said it was a bug?" I chuckled nervously. He stared at me, eyes turning to slits, and in that moment I knew. I was screwed.
Bennett was leaning on the back of one of the dining chairs staring at me. Declan was sitting and running his hands through his hair, messing it up even more. Jordan was pacing back and forth from my end of the table to Bennett's end, mumbling incoherent words to himself. I was sitting at the opposite end from Bennett's, my eyes flicking from each of them.
Bennett had woken them up after walking away telling them I had something on my back, Bennett had a guess of what it was but he wanted them to see as well. I didn't even last one day without them finding out about one of my tattoo's. Man I suck at hiding things. I stood up and walked up the stairs, feeling their eyes follow my every move until I was out of eye sight. I let out a breath I didn't know I was holding in when I closed my bedroom door.
Looking at my room and the only thing that I thought about it was messy. I told them to just set all the bags in my room and let me worry about it, which was hard for Gabe to do because all he wanted to do was organize my closet and make my room look in his words 'F*cking beautiful'. I stripped from my now dry clothes and took a quick shower to get rid of the chlorine.
Yeah you heard me, they didn't even let me change out of my wet clothes. Like I could have gotten sick, but no they wanted to get stressed and stare at me until I said something.
I got out and wrapped a towel around me. I dried off and put on some of my new clothes. I grabbed a pair of grey sweatpants that were a size too big for me, making them loose but they had a string so I could tiy it to fit my waist. I paired it with a grey Calvin Klein sports bra, and threw my hair into a messy bun. They'll probably want to see the tattoo anyways, so might as well show them. Plus I need new plastic wrapped around the tattoo.
I looked at myself in the mirror second guessing if I should go down in something so revealing. They've seen more of my skin than anybody else but not like this.
The sweatpants hung low on my hips letting my other tattoo peek out, but only the tips of it. I need to put more cloth on that as well, and ask Milo if I need to put anything on it. The sports bra showed off my flat stomach, which I've tried multiple times to get any fat on it but it just stays the same. Looking at myself in this outfit made me feel confident and made me feel pretty. All the flaws I saw, somehow look nonexistent.
I felt beautiful, and now I know why Gabe made me buy this.
I shook my head and smiled at myself. I'll have to thank Gabe later.
I left my room and walked down the hall to the stairs. I walked down the stairs, through the dining room and to the kitchen. I glanced at them as I passed the table, Jordan had stopped pacing and was now staring at me. Declan had his hands in his hair but he was looking at me. Bennett wasn't here anymore. I could feel both their eyes following me as I walked behind the island in the kitchen. I started looking for the scissors in each drawer all the way to the bottom.
I heard footsteps coming from the stairs and glanced up. Bennett was wearing a pair of grey sweatpants and a loose white shirt, he was drying his hair with a towel as he walked in. I opened the last drawer on the left and grabbed the scissors. I stood up with scissors in hand and looked at them.
Bennett stopped mid drying his hair, Declan and Jordan hadn't moved from their spots and still wore the same expression. All of them had the same expression, mouths slightly open and eyes wide following everywhere I went.
I stepped to the left and watched their eyes follow me. I stepped to the right and their eyes followed me. I could feel a blush come on but cleared my throat to cover it up. That made all of them avert their eyes and go back to what they were doing.
I looked down and started cutting the plastic wrap. As soon as I unwrapped it the air made my skin there feel cold, it was slightly wet. I looked up and saw them staring at me again, I didn't bother with that and looked at Declan. "Can you go get my phone, please." He vigorously nodded and basically ran out of the room.
I looked at Bennett next. "Can you go get me a small towel, please." I looked down after he left without saying anything.
I glanced at Jordan to see him already looking at me. "You know it's not your fault I didn't call or come back until it was late." I pushed my foot on the button thingy on the bottom of the trash can and threw the plastic wrap away. "I didn't think about it and I was too busy taking my mind off.. things." I placed my arms on the counter that separated me from Jordan and leaned on my elbows. Bennett and Declan walked in then, "I was too busy thinking about other things that I forgot about calling you guys and I apologize, I'm sorry for worrying you guys." I looked all of them in the eyes.
All of their eyes softened when they looked at me.
"It's okay."
"I wasn't worried."
"You can take care of yourself." I raised my eyebrow at Jordan. "Hey. I was only finishing what Declan said. I wasn't worried, you can take care of yourself."
I still stared at him, not because I didn't understand but because I couldn't look away from him. "But of course you can take care of yourself. You were trained by me." He pointed to his chest, smiling his goofy smile that I realize I look forward to seeing everyday.
Declan handed me my phone and Bennett set the towel in front of me. I know it's late but I don't want to get my tattoos infected. While I waited for Milo to pick up, Jordan, Bennett, and Declan sat on the stools on the other side of the island watching my every move.
"For the last time this is not a Chinese restaurant!" I pulled the phone away from my ear, looking at it.
I put it back on my ear, amused now. "Well I was calling for something else, but if you're selling I'll have some orange chicken please."
"Haha, very funny." I laughed. "What's up?"
"If I were to say get my tattoos wet, what would I have to do?" I tapped at the counter not wanting to look at the people currently sitting across from me.
"Already got them wet?" I heard him whistle. "Damn that was fast."
"Yeah, yeah what am I supposed to do though?" I waved it off.
"Dry them gently and put some ointment on them, then let your back tattoo dry again and put a cover over that one. You can put the cloth over the one on your hip though. Or you can just not wear a shirt and keep your pants low. Oh and ask Bennett about the ointment, he'll know what I'm talking about."
"Okay, thanks."
"Alright, bye."
"Bye." I hung up and started drying my stomach. I looked at them from under my eyelashes, they were still staring at me. "Okay, stop staring." They all looked away and Jordan even started whistling. I rolled my eyes and looked at them. "Okay I got a tattoo." They gave me a look to say 'you think' and nodded for me to continue. I turned around and hopped on the counter, giving them a full view of the ink engraved into my skin. "That's the tattoo."
I heard a slap and turned my head, Jordan was holding his hand glaring at both Declan and Bennett. "If you touch it, it could get infected." Bennett explained.
"Oh yeah, Milo told me to tell you to put ointment on it and said you'd understand what he meant." He nodded left and then came back with a tube in hand.
"I'm going to put this on your back, okay?" I nodded and watched him wash his hands before making me turn around and sit criss cross applesauce on the counter. I looked down and started playing with my fingers. I felt something cold and flinched, "It's okay, it's just the ointment." I nodded and I felt him continue. He rubbed the cold substances into my skin, before he turned me around with his clean hand. "Now where's your second tattoo?"
I choked and started hitting my chest, "I don't have a second tattoo."
"Yes you do, I heard you say tattoos when you wear talking to Milo." Bennett's gaze hardened. "Milo, he's going to get a piece of my mind. He should have called us when you went to him, and what were you thinking getting a tattoo without us there?" He set his hands on either side of me on the counter, caging me in.
I leaned forward and hugged him, he stiffed before relaxing into my hold. "I'm sorry, I asked him not to call or tell you guys." I pulled away to show him I truly am sorry.
He shook his head, "It's fine but next time you get something like a tattoo, call us." He stood straight again and slited his eyes at me. "Now, where's your second tattoo?" I sighed giving in, I pulled the waistband of my sweatpants down to show the tattoo on my front right hip. I looked up and giggled at his face. His mouth was opening and closing like a fish out of water and he kept blinking.
"What? What is it?" Both Declan and Jordan walked around the counter to look. They blinked and blinked again.
I rolled my eyes, "It's just your initials guys." Well it was their initials with an infinity sign wrapped around them. "I figured if we ever break apart- which will never happen -I can always remember the people who made me the most happy." I gave them my biggest smile. They all blushed and averted their eyes.
"Bennett I can put the ointment on it." I offered. He shook his head and slowly rubbed the ointment into my hip. He gulped after he finished and washed his hands before walking out, muttering something about a cold shower. I don't know.
"Declan can you get me a square cloth and some tape, please." He nodded and walked down the hall. I turned to Jordan, "Can you make sure we have plastic wrap." He nodded and went into the pantry.
I couldn't help but giggle, I didn't know that them looking at me the way they did made me feel so alive. I wanted nothing more than to scream and dance in circles right now.
Jordan and Declan came back at the same time.
"Here." I grabbed the cloth and tape and put it on my hip, covering the tattoo there. I hopped off the counter and to the living room, falling face first into the couch. "Hey! What about the plastic wrap?" Jordan yelled coming into the living room.
I lifted my head, "Just leave it there." and let me head fall back on the cushion.
"Okay." He shrugged and came to where I was, he lifted my head, sat down and set it on his lap. I scooted up getting more comfortable. Declan lifted my feet and sat down massaging them.
"That feels amazing." I felt like falling asleep with Declan massaging my legs and Jordan starting to scratch my upper back, which made me want to drift off into lala land.
"Isn't what you're wearing a little.." Jordan stopped scratching my back and looked anywhere but me.
"A little revealing?" I opted, he nodded making his hair bounce a little. "What do you not like it? Do I not look good in it?" I raised my eyebrow at him.
"No! That's not what I'm saying, it's just- um." He groaned going back to scratching my back. "Nevermind." I smiled in victory on the inside.
"Jordan?" I lazily called. He hummed, "When do we get to know whether we got into college or not?"
"Oh, that." I glanced up at him. "A week or so." I nodded and started falling asleep when Bennett walked down the stairs and sat in front of me. I smiled and started messing with his hair, slowly my hand started hurting and hung over his shoulder. Just as I started to fall asleep I felt a hand wrap around mine and squeeze, I squeezed back and fell into dreamland.
