Bonus Chapter Three

Bennett's POV

I knocked on the door and waited. It took a second but then came "Come in!". Taking a deep breath I turned the handle and walked in. I stopped short when I saw what she was wearing.

She wore a dark blue shirt that seemed to stick to her like a second skin and jeans that left nothing to my imagination..

"Bennett your staring." She snapped her fingers in front of my face.

I blinked and shook my head, "Yeah, sorry I just didn't expect.." I trailed off.

Her face scrunched up as she looked at me. She looked down and then looked back at me, "Is there something wrong with what I'm wearing?"

I blinked before slowly shaking my head, "No, it's just that I didn't think you would match your glasses to your shirt." Her usual black pair sat on her night stand while she had on a dark almost black, blue pair sitting on her nose. Plus it's a great excuse from me having to explain I was checking her out.

"Oh, I didn't think you'd notice." She smiled and pushed her glasses up by the corner. I realized it was a habit she did when she was nervous or embarrassed. It was cute.

I smiled and opened her door wider for her, "I did, now let's get going before Jordan comes up with an excuse for you to stay." She nodded and started walking past me but I grabbed her arm and whispered in her ear. "You look beautiful." I let her go and smirked when she just stood there.

I took her hand and started walking down stairs. We walked right outside since I already had the keys and nobody was there to bother us.

"Where were Jordan and Declan?" I glanced back at her.

"I put on a movie to distract them."

"Oh."

I paused and looked at her over my shoulder, "Why? Is there something wrong?"

She shook her head vigorously, "No there's nothing wrong, I just thought they would tell me goodbye."

"Oh," I looked ahead of us. "I'm sorry then." I started to walk forward but she tugged on my hand to keep me in place. I sighed and looked at her, "I just wanted to leave without any interruptions."

"Okay." I nodded and turned to open the car door for her. I closed the door after she got in and got in the driver's seat.

"Buckle up." I buckled and didn't start backing out until she buckled as well.

It was quiet in the car and all I could think about was that she might be upset I didn't let them say goodbye to her. "Bennett." I got deep in my thoughts and didn't hear her. "Bennett?"

I blinked and made a turn, "Naomi?"

I felt something on my thigh and glanced down before glancing sideways. She put her hand on my thigh.. well that's not gonna help me tonight. "I'm not mad." I glanced at her again and smiled slightly before letting my right hand land on her thigh.

"I know."

...

I pulled into a parking space and shut the car off. I got out and walked around the car to open Naomi's door, she was too busy looking around anyways.

"Bennett?" I hummed while getting the blanket and bag out of the trunk. "Why are we at a beach?"

"For stargazing, why?" I shut the trunk and handed her the blanket.

She took the blanket and looked at the beach, "Yeah but.." I took her hand and started leading her to the empty beach.

"But?" I looked at her from the corner of my eye.

"But I thought you'd take me to do something that you liked, like Declan and Jordan did."

I raised an eyebrow at her, "How do you know I don't like stargazing?" We started laying out the blanket before she spoke. "You just don't seem like a person that likes astronomy to me." She shrugged before sitting down.

I looked at the sky and thought about what to say. The sky was clear and you could see the stars perfectly, I may not say- or talk about it at all, but I like the dark sky full of Christmas lights.

"I like looking at the sky and stars," I sat down and leaned back on my hands. "In the city you can't see the stars." I looked at her before looking back at the night sky. "I remember when I was little me and my sister were playing hide and seek in the woods behind our house and I got lost." I chuckled and started playing with the sand. "I was such a kid. I cried and tried finding my way back instead of staying where I was," I shook my head and looked up again. "I tripped and landed on my back. I cried some more before I just laid there looking at the sky full of stars.. I was scared out of my mind, but when I stared at the stars that were so close together but so far apart I found comfort in them."

"Were you ever found?" I smiled and looked at her. "What? It's an honest question!" She couldn't keep the smile off her face.

I chuckled while shaking my head, "No, I wasn't." I flicked her forehead.

"Ow! What was that for?" I rolled my eyes and scoffed. "For asking stupid questions."

She huffed before looking at the sky herself. I leaned back more and studied her. Her hair was down and in its natural form, her skin was slightly tanner but not by much. I looked at her neck and followed it all the way down to her- snap out of it! Can you not look at her body like it's a kitchen knife?

Sighing I close my eyes and let my head roll back. She really is like a kitchen knife: her tongue is just as sharp, her body is just as beautiful as a new knife, and her words have the power to kill me in a single blow.

"Bennett where'd you get the idea to take me here?"

I sat up more and looked at her, "North." She blinked and stared at me, so I elaborated. "I've been hanging out with Owen, Axel, Marc, and Sean a lot recently and asked them where I should take you. They all had their ideas so we threw them in a hat and pulled."

She sighed while shaking her head, "Guys." She muttered under her breath. Then she looked at me confused, "If you guys pulled from a hat and you were hanging out with Owen, Marc, Sean, and Axel how did you get the idea from North?"

"North came to pick something up and threw his idea in the hat before he left, he won." It was simple and not all guys throw things in a hat and pull, it's just the most efficient way.

She hummed and leaned her head against my shoulder, "Do you think we'll be able to make it work like they do?"

"I don't know," I sighed and wrapped my arm around her. "But I hope so."

"Me too." I leaned my chin on her head and closed my eyes.

We grew quiet. I got lost in thoughts about the future and how much it would hurt me to lose Naomi or my best friends, because if we were to end I would lose one of them or both of them and I don't know how I would survive without either of them..

"Bennett is it hard driving after the accident?" I glanced down at her before pulling her with me to lay down.

"It was at first." Sighing I look at the twinkling lights. "I went to drive and just sat in the car for an hour before I asked Declan to drive me.. the second time I actually started the car, " I smiled looking back on it and at her giggle. "Third time I got out of our driveway before turning the car off. It got easier and easier until I could drive without feeling like the car was closing in on me." I started playing with her hair as I spoke, "What about you? Is it easy yet?"

I heard her sigh before she brought her arms around me., "No.. but it's getting there! I can sit in the car and not worry that much anymore, I can't just get behind the steering wheel yet."

I hummed, "That's fine, don't push yourself if you feel like you can't okay?" She nodded and hugged me tighter.

I hummed lightly and dragged my fingers through her hair. I haven't had many moments where I've felt at complete peace but I can honestly say that whenever I'm around Naomi I feel like I can let loose and be myself. I did it without noticing when I started to get to know her, when we talked on the roof of the base, just the two of us, I let my guard down. It was the first time of many.

She has this way about her that you can't help but let your guard down and trust her. Maybe it's her smile, because of how welcoming it is. Or maybe it's her eyes and how they make you feel unjudged.. she was a mystery to me then and she's a mystery to me now. Not much has changed there.

Sometimes I feel like I'll open my eyes one morning and she'd be nothing but a dream. She feels like a dream. Soft, harsh, will take you anywhere.. just another breeze through your mind.

I don't like thinking about the what ifs or how I don't deserve her, but at moments like this when it's quiet. It's easy to get lost in your head. Easy to think bad about yourself. Easy to think about the things you can't change. Easy to want more. Easy to over think. Easy to imagine Naomi in a nighty crawling to you- and that's where I cut my thoughts off.

"Naomi how do you feel about being in a relationship with three guys?" I never asked how she felt about it.

"I was the one who suggested it, Bennett." I couldn't see her face but I knew she rolled her eyes, which made me roll mine.

"I know that, I was there. What I meant was how do you feel now?"

She turned her head and set her chin on my chest, "I'm happy." Her smile was soft but made me want to kiss her. "There haven't been that many fights and I don't feel like I'm being stretched between you three, so I'm happy. I mean who wouldn't be happy with their own personal artist, body guard, and chief?"

I chuckled and nodded, "Good to know that's what you like about me."

"Well I can't think of anything else." She cupped her chin with a smile dancing on her lips. "Well I mean there is your looks, abs, personality, dry humor, way with words, cuddles, and kisses but I think the chocolate cake wins by a landslide!" I raised my eyebrow and smirked.

"Is that so?" She hummed while nodding. "Okay you asked for it!" I tackled her and listened to her giggles burst through the air. I sat on her stomach and tickled her sides.

"Stop! Please- ahh!" My smirk grew and I leaned in close, stopping my attack for a moment. "Tell me you love me for me and I'll stop." Her eyes darted between mine as she tried catching her breath. Then she smirked and yelled "Never!"

I shrugged, "You asked for it."

I continued tickling her until she yelled, "Fine! I love you for you!" I smiled and stopped.

"Now was that so hard?"

She huffed and sat up, "More than you believe."

I raised an eyebrow, "Sorry did I hear you right?" I slowly started reaching for her sides.

Her eyes widened and she shook her head so hard I thought it might snap off, "No! I love your kisses more than any food you could make!"

I stopped reaching and stared into her eyes. I was still straddling her lap.. I blinked when she slammed her lips on mine. Slowly I kissed her back and let my eyes flutter close. Is this how she felt when we surprised her with kisses? If so I don't see why she doesn't do this to us more often.

The surprise mixed in with the heat of the kiss just makes it better. Lust just makes it intensified. It's like being on a high without taking drugs. At least it was for me..

I wrapped my arms around her neck and pulled us closer. I could feel her hands sneaking under and up the back of my shirt. The feeling of her cold hands on my bare skin was welcomed and appreciated, otherwise I might have just thrown my shirt off.

Our kiss was rough and soft at the same time. It was conflicting. Our kiss was rough but our caresses were gentle and soft. A battle was waged between our tongues and lips, biting and pulling, it felt like forever before we broke apart for air. Though my lungs needed it, I still felt like I hadn't had enough.

Addiction is one of the worst things you can have, but I feel like being addicted to her is acceptable. I closed my eyes and stuffed my face in her neck. "I love you Naomi."

"I love you Bennett." Her hands stayed under my shirt as she pulled me down with her so we were laying down. "You're surprisingly light."

I chuckled and pulled her closer, "Thanks."

I started to drift off when my stomach growled. Sighing, I rolled off of her and sat up. I pulled the food and water out of the bag I brought and set them between us. She sat up and took the lid off one of the pasta containers. She brought it up to her nose and took a deep inhale before sighing, "You know how to win a girl's heart."

I rolled my eyes and handed her a plastic fork. I got my food and started digging in, "Sorry it's been such a boring date."

Her head snapped up and she gave me a flabbergasted look, "It has not! Were you not there for the heated kiss or the conversations? I want to know you more and tonight I got more pieces to fit in the puzzle that is you." She smiled and started eating again. "I don't know how big your puzzle is but I'm willing to wait and see the beautiful picture after it's complete."

"When did you become a poet?"

"After I fell in love with idiots." She rolled her eyes just as I did, we do that a lot together, don't we?

I continued eating and just about spit out what I had in my mouth when she spoke again, "I guess no one wins your guys challenge."

I blinked before swallowing and decided to play dumb, "I'm sorry I don't know what your talking about." Stupidity can be the best policy sometimes.

"Cut the bull, I know."

I sighed and put my food away, I suddenly didn't feel so hungry anymore. "When did you find out?"

"I didn't find out," She rolled her eyes, setting her food aside. "I figured it out, plus you guys weren't very quiet when talking about it."

"I feel stupid now."

"Don't be, we all do stupid things." She patted me on the head, smiling. "Plus no one would have won if I didn't know about the stupid bet/challenge, all three of your guys dates made me happy and excited."

"So I didn't win but I didn't lose?" I was slightly confused.

She nodded and snapped her fingers, "Exactly!"

I blinked at her and nodded, it was a win even if it wasn't completely. I put my food away and turned to her, "Well since no one won that means we can stay out as long as we want."

She smiled and handed me her food to put away, "What do you mean by that?"

"Well I mean we're at a beach with no one in sight, I say a little dip in the ocean won't harm anyone." I stood up and held my hand out to her.

A smile stretched across her face, "Okay." She nodded. "A little dip, what's the harm in that?"

"Exactly." I started stripping. When I was down to my boxers I looked at Naomi to see her in nothing but her black bra and panties. I felt my breath escape me, she looked.. beautiful.

"Stop staring and get in the water with me before I call the others to join." I ran to her in a blink and picked her up while running into the ocean. Her giggles and my laughter filling the silent night.

I knew coming to the beach was a good idea as soon as I heard it...
