Niall and Zayn ran down the streets, hand in hand. They could both assure each other that they hadn't been this happy in years. If Zayn wasn't so happy right now he'd be terrified. They were going to confront Niall's mother for god's sake, who wouldn't be terrified?

"Here we are..." Niall breathed. They had arrived a long time ago, but were too involved in the joyful atmosphere to realize.

"As happy as I am I'm also scared shit-less," Zayn breathed.

"Hey you'll be fine baby," Niall mumbled before kissing Zayn's lips. Zayn couldn't help but smile and take his hand.

"Let's go then."

Niall and Zayn sat in Niall's family room, surrounded by the Horans. Niall held Zayn's hand tighter as his mother's glare hardened.

"Hey boys," Bobby grinned, "what's up?"

"We've been good." Zayn answered politely for Niall, considering he was completely traumatized.

"That's good." he smiled before sitting down.

"What do you want." Niall's mum spat.

"We actually have some news, if you don't mind," Zayn said just as rudely. Niall's mum huffed and folded her arms.

Niall shrunk into Zayn and that's when the elder boy realized that he was the one that had to stay strong for them. Niall's own birth mother couldn't stand the sight of him. He knew how that felt and he couldn't help but feel horrible that Niall now knew too.

"We're engaged." Zayn said, looking Niall's mother in the eyes. Her own eyes widened as she shook her head.

"No." she said, "This is simply not happening."

"We're grown adults now," Zayn said, standing up for them.

"It doesn't matter!"

"Mum--"

A harsh smacking sound interrupted Niall. He choked on his own tears as he felt the tingling sensation on his now red cheek.

"You are not my son," she sneered, "No son of mine is a fag! No son of mine is a fool that falls in love with a man!"

Niall was already gone before his mother could hurt him anymore. He had disappeared up the steps to quickly so that he couldn't see what Zayn was about to do.

"No!" He screamed, "No mother of his should be treating him this way! You remind me of my parents! And where are they now?! In fucking prison!"

Niall's mum glared at Zayn with fury, but he blew it off.

"Have some respect..." he sneered before running after Niall, leaving Maura speechless.

Zayn climbed up on the roof where he knew Niall was hiding out. He could hear his cries from the hallway. He had been screaming and wailing, knowing no one would even bother to wonder who was suffering.

The blanket that Zayn held in his hand became heavier

Zayn's heart broke at the sight in front of him. Niall had his knees in his cheeks, while tugging on his beautiful blond locks. He immediately ran over to Niall and wrapped his arms protectively around him. He then replaced his arms with the wool blanket, thinking of how cold Niall was without a jacket.

But Niall didn't want a blanket. He wanted Zayn, so he pulled Zayn under the blanket and cried into the crook of his neck. Zayn wrapped his free arm around Niall again and held him close. Niall held onto Zayn as if he'd walk away at any minute.

They stayed like that until late into the night. Niall's cries turned into slow whimpers and Zayn took this time to pull away and take Niall's hand.

"Ni?" he whispered, "You okay?"

Niall felt his cheek, which was beginning to bruise badly, and shook his head. Zayn sighed and hugged his beautiful boyfriend tight. He lifted his hand up to Niall's hair and began to run his hands through it.

"I'll never be okay. My mother hates my existence. I've grown so close to her, but now it's all gone. I don't know what to think anymore Z, is this wrong? Is this whole relationship a mistake?"

Zayn was slightly hurt at the fact that Niall thought them being together was a msitake, because it was most definetely not.

"You tell me that you're sad and lost your way..."

Niall grinned as Zayn began to sing another one of his favorite songs.

"You tell me that your tears are here to stay

But I know you're only hiding

And I just wanna see you..."

He quietly began tapping his fingers to the tempo of Zayn's beautiful voice.

"You tell me that you're hurt and you're in pain

And I can see your head is held in shame,

But I just wanna see you smile again

See you smile again..."

Zayn smiled at Niall and tapped his shoulder.

"What?" Niall said.

"It's your favorite band," Zayn grinned, "You should be able to sing some of the song!"

"Zayn I can't sing..." Niall blushed.

"I've heard you sing in the shower Niall, and I completely disagree with you." Zayn grinned. Niall sighed and rolled his eyes at his boyfriend.

"But don't burn out..."

Zayn nodded in Niall's direction, telling him to continue.

"Even if you scream and shout

It'll come back to you

And I'll be here for you..."

Zayn grinned and began to sing along quietly with Niall.

"Oh I will carry you over fire and water for your love

And I will hold you closer

Hope your heart is strong enough

When the night is coming down on you

We will find a way through the dark..."

Niall giggled as Zayn leaned in close to him so their noses were touching. He couldn't help but feel gleeful at the small sound.

"I wish that I could take you to the stars

I'd never let you fall and break your heart

And if you wanna cry or fall apart

I'll be there to hold you..."

Zayn sat Niall in his lap and whispered the rest of the lyrics in his ear.

"You tell me that you hurt, it's all in vain

But I can see your heart can love again

And I remember you laughing

So let's just laugh again..."

Niall grinned and began to sing again,

"But don't burn out

Even if you scream and shout

It'll come back to you,

Back to you..."

Zayn and Niall sang the chorus again and both of them had unmistakable smiles on their faces. Their voices rang through the darkness of the night, shining a little light in their eyes. Zayn and Niall could both agree that this was the best moment of their lives.

"We will find our way...through the dark..."

Zayn kissed Niall's lips after they had finished the little song they had decided to sing. It wasn't as forceful as the others they had shared, but it was full of passion. It was a soft kiss, and their lips could've been mistaken for just grazing over each other. But to them they could feel the love and emotion in their bones.

Zayn pulled away slowly and looked at Niall. He took everything almost too quickly. The way Niall's pale blue eyes looked, the way his skin glowed in the night, the feeling of his soft hands placed in his own coarse ones, it was all too perfect.

He reached up and stroked Niall's cheek before leaning in and pecking his lips again.

"I promise we will get through this. We'll get married, on a beach like you always said you'd want to do. We'll be the only people in each other's world. I'll get you your palace, and I'll make sure at least our room is red."

Niall's eyes almost immediately teared up at what Zayn said.

"You remember that?" Niall whispered.

"I never forgot that day on the school bus," Zayn chuckled.

Flashback

"When we're big people, we'll be the only people in the world..." Zayn said imagining what would happen in the future.

"Yeah with dinosaurs, and no mean ladies." Niall said.

"In a big palace..." Zayn mumbled.

"What color?" Niall asked.

"Red." Zayn smiled, "Red is our color okay?"

"Okay!" Niall smiled.

"And...it'll be huge..." Zayn said.

"You already said that!" Niall laughed.

"I know!" Zayn smirked.

Present

Niall reached up and wrapped his arms around Zayn's neck.

"I love you, I love you, I love you so fucking much!" Niall cried.

"I love you too baby," Zayn whispered,

"Forever and always..."

Is Ziall cute or what?

I owe you guys a huge apology! I've had the worst stomach virus in the planet and I've been unable to write! It sucks and I'll make up for it I promise! But on another note...ONE MORE CHAPTER! AHH! I am so happy to have my second story almost finished! And I'm in such a mood to write because 1DDAY ROCKED! Who watched all 7 hours? I missed one hour then watched the other 6! Anyway, that was chapter 14! GAH IT'S THE END NEXT TIME. Then an afterwords, then I'm abandoning the book! Lol no it's ending.
