Cardi replayed everything he needed to do in his head.
1) Give her amnesia pills before she goes to bed
2) Go on a run for food she might like
3) very carefully cut the chip out of her shoulder once she's asleep
4) wake her up as quick as possible and give her food
It was like having to take care of a child, but at this point Cardi didn't care. For once he was excited to see a real personality come out of this robot, this innocent soul that happened to stumble upon something so deadly. After hearing what had happened to Aline, he had changed his whole outlook to her and cared more for her by now. He had this feeling that she would like him more if she wasn't a robot.
He also wanted to see how someone like her had become such a monster, a killing machine. Why she had even began to stay in Oxygin, when, by Kilyna's words, she had known what was going to happen. If she knew, why did she stay, why did she accept fate without a fight? Once Aline was home and in her room, Cardi followed her in, which didn't seem to bother her. Maybe the old her could still hold on and know what He was going to do. Maybe deep down, she knew He was going to help, and therefore she ask no questions.
He got a water from her fridge, and took it to her along with pills. She took them in her hand, downing them and taking a drink.
✔️ 1) Give her amnesia pills before she goes to bed
"I'm going to bed. See you in the morning." And she still acted so different. Cardi took a deep breath, almost running out of the apartment building and into the streets, searching for something she could eat. He thought to get her something easy on the stomach, soup or something, and maybe something he could make after. Kilyna said she'd be extremely hungry.
He found a restaurant and grabbed some fast food for himself and a potato soup for Aline.
✔️2) Go on a run for food she might like
Then he had to find somewhere that sold doctors equipment... and well, here that would be easy. People practically carried scalpels with them everywhere. Since he knew a cutting tool would be easy to find, all he needed was some stitches and bandaids.
He walked into a medical store, grabbed the stuff he needed and payed for it. The cashier gave him a weird look, seeing as "Royalty" (remember red eyes are seen as royalty, and so people don't know that he's not
Royal) usually didn't come into those stores. He rushed out and went back to the apartment, making sure to avoid the dark city crowd in the streets.
Once he was back at Aline's door, he got nervous. What if Aline doesn't wake up, what if he kills her, what if the chip doesn't come out? So many questions with no answer. He became afraid for the first time in years. He opened her door, thankful she hadn't locked it on him. He inhaled deeply before finding her bedroom, seeing her shadow lying on the bed, her pale skin reflecting the moonlight that was shining bright through the slit in her her curtains. Her arms were In a odd position, she looked as if she had fallen off a building and landed on the ground in a flailing position... It looked extremely painful.
He shook his head and grabbed the bag of supplies. This was it. He was the only one who could grant Aline life or death. Her life depended on him, her happiness. If she ever wanted to see the world in all it's glory again, he was the one that had to give her that. He unpackaged all the items he needed.
First grabbing an alcohol wipe, he wiped off the space on her shoulder under her tank top. He pulled her top down her shoulder, just enough so he could see what he was doing (not in a perverted way, he can't see anything other than her shoulder in the darkness anyway) He had seen depictions of where they had put the chip on Kilyna's computer, so he had a good idea of where to cut. He hated to put Aline in this pain, but it was necessary, maybe she'd forgive him one day.
With that thought in mind, he grabbed the scalpel and cut into her beautiful pale skin. They hadn't left a scar implanting it, but he would have to give her a reminder of what hell she went through before she had this chance. He didn't have to cut very deep before finding the large metal pieces in her shoulder. He shivered, he had to hurry once he grabbed it. And that's exactly what he did.
Grabbing the chips and pulling them out slowly, taking it and putting it on her bedside table before taking stitches and a gauze and closing her skin and covering the wound.
✔️3) very carefully cut the chip out of her shoulder once she's asleep
He shook her body, he knew this may not wake her up, but he had to hurry if he wanted her to live. He got up and grabbed the food from the stove, put it in a bowl and headed back to where Aline was still asleep. He checked for her breathing, slow and shallow but still there.
He had one last chance to wake her up before she Past away, and that chance had to be the smell of food. If it didn't work.... nothing would.
He put the bowl of soup under her nose.
1 second... nothing.
3 seconds... nothing.
9 seconds.... nothing.
Cardi closed his eyes in failure, Aline wasn't going to wake up. Caught up in his own despair, he didn't hear a crumpling of sheets.
"Cardi?" A voice called to him from the darkness, he looked up to find a woman he had never seen before. It was Aline, but without black hair, her hair was now blonde. Not only that, it had grown a foot, her hair before didn't even cover her face. Now long bangs covered her face, sticking in her eyelashes. And her eyes, they were blue, but a deep blue. Like an ocean tide on a hot summer day, calm before the storm. Tears were slowly flowing down her face, her eyes watery and hair was sticking to her eyelashes. She looked to the bowl as he realized she needed food. He handed it to her quickly, which she took and started eating happily. He had just saved Aline, and she was so much different.
✔️4) wake her up as quick as possible and give her food
She finished the food quickly as Cardi sat in amazement. It wasn't good that they had the technology to change so many different features of the body. He finally noticed Aline looking at him with a gentle smile, and he shook out of his trance.
"Um... are you still hungry? I have some things that I can fix for you..." Aline shook her head no at his question.
"It's not food I need, I need nothing. Though you're a different situation. You need answers, any questions you have will be answered as a thanks for saving my life. For making me Ally again." Aline spoke quietly, gentle and caring, a complete opposite of what she used to speak like.
"Ally?" Cardi Ask her quietly. She nodded.
"My name was never Aline. They believed with the chip we were reborn, my name was then changed to Aline. So, Cardi, I'm Allison Loveland. It's nice to meet your acquaintance."
