Ab Na Pehle Si Baatein Hai

Aarav was brought to Kapoor mansion. His ever charming face with enigmatic smile was remembered by all. Suhasini was too numb to react at her grandson's sudden death. Nayan's eyes were brimmed with tears as she stared Aarav in silence. Their happiness changed into mourning. How happy she was for his marriage. She was cursing herself constantly for allowing them to go alone.
Naira held Nayan's hand as she sat down on the floor.

"You broke your promise bhaiya..you always did like this. I should not have asked you to go alone today. Why you left me bhaiya!??. First mom dad left me alone and now you too..Wake up naa bhaiya please" cried Nayan.

Naksh couldn't held back his tears when he saw Nayan and Aarav's photographs in the dining room. Aarav was not only his cousin but a best friend whom he trusted blindly.
They both were eachother's family after their parents death. Naksh was Aarav's Masi 's son. They were very close.

Suhana sits in her room crying her eyes out all day long and Suhasini comes on and off to sit with her. But the crying is limited to her room only. There is no room for crying outside that inner sanctum. Outside the room there is only one mourner. But for a while now the grief seems to have left her. She is still sad but you will see her smile sometimes..her memories with Aarav was making her smile Perhaps.

She drew her legs to her chin and tried to muffle her sobs.

When you loose someone you love dearly, you push all the grief and numbness to a corner of your mind, hoping that nothing would change and living behind a pretense of daily practicalities.

Except a day comes that you are too exhausted too hold up anymore and you are left broken and vulnerable.

Yet, her mind could not help but wonder that it could be Naksh who would perform all Aarav's last rites as it was Kairav's right to do them. However now, he was no more than an unwelcome trouble of her past and a gossip column for the journalists who wanted to dig out a scoop out of his marital life one more time.

Naksh performed Aarav's final rites and Kairav who was still in comatose condition was brought back home.

Tears, pain and endless grief.

The moment Naksh witnessed him being burnt to ashes, he broke. People restraining him felt like shackles, life was holding him into.

Witnessing his grandmother tearing up at the loss of a grandson was breaking him from within. Witnessing his bhabhi turning into a lifeless corpse clawed his Heart squeezing his life drop by drop.

Time heals they say.

Life goes on they say.

The healing time might have lost its way, life never approached their door. They all stood at the standstill waiting for the end, to take them all.

Days after days, people came and went with their words of consolation and hidden taunts.

They breathed, everyday waiting for the end.

His dadimaa turned to self blaming.

His Suhana, was his bhabhi still alive? He questioned himself. She lost her life, her smile, the twinkle in her eyes and the will to live.

Why was it Aarav? It was his fate his brother took over, it was his responsibility that brother... That Aarav took up, it was Kairav's death that Aarav took upon himself.

It was supposed to be him. Maybe life death would have been better that way. Nayan would still be here, take care of his dadi and Suhana like always. He would protect them, he would not have let everything fall like this, as if life were a pack of cards.

He failed at the one things he promised. To be his brother's shield.

He sat looking at the portrait, alone in a dimly lit hallway. In the deafening screams of silence. A portrait of a man who loved, inspired and lived. His eyes which hold warmth and security are lifeless behind  the glass, a smile which would bring comfort to the whole house was gone.

He suddenly felt exposed and vulnerable. The warmth suddenly turned into chilling cold, the coldness slowly and painfully seeped into him, through his skin into his bones, gnawing his heart.

He was falling into a deep abyss of darkness, he fought. The chains tightened around his limbs. But the more he fought, they kept tightening.

He woke up, unable to move. His arms and legs felt heavy. The fear returned. The fear of being paralyzed. He trashed trying to unchain himself...

Its been a month  that Aarav has left the world let their beloved ones to grief on his death. Everyone is deeply affected by his death. Its hard to digest the jovial boy is no more. The two pillars of Indian Navy and Anand sir also grieving and remember Aarav,an able officer in Navy.

Kairav who regained consciousness after a month cannot understand why his heart has feelings for Suhana. He is unable to understand why his heart feels for her. His world changed too much since Àarav's death that he helds himself responsible for the mishap.

She had probably never seen anyone so broken before and witnessing that made her heart ache terribly. For him. It felt as if someone was repeatedly stabbing her heart with a knife.  Is that how he felt when she used to talk about Aarav? Did he feel this kind of pain when he saw her struggle to contain myself around Aarav? If this is how it felt just the one time I saw him grieving for his first love, how would he have felt? Suhana knew she hadn't been fair to him initially when he had told her he loved her. Yes she was impulsive and back then, she was afraid, terribly frightened of losing that one person who was her constant to something as whimsical as love. Little did she know that love is never whimsical if it's true. Now she knew.

Suhana moved to London for higher studies as she couldn't erase Aarav's memories out of her.

3 months later, Suhasini never woke up again while sleeping in a wintery night. It was a jolt for Kairav and Nayan as they had now no one to call their family. The shock was too much to bear.

Kairav was forgiven by Nayan and she feared losing him too.
