Somewhere Under The Sea
Her eyes are cast to the rocks,
Her mood shifting with the wind
Her dress blows in the sea scented air
As she grips the rails between white knuckled fingers
She gazes out wistfully
At the beautiful ocean blue
A bright white light shines across the sea
Bringing ships home safely with its yellow glow
She misses him
Everything about the boy
From his pale, golden speckled eyes
To his contagiously, energetic spirit
She wishes his return
Wistful for his company
She prays for his safety
That he may return soon
Suddenly her fingers gain a chill
As a sharp wave sprays her still form
With icy blue droplets
Of blisteringly cool, salty water
A gasp of shock escapes her
Through blue chattering lips
She tumbles over the old, rickety rails
Into a mass of sharp pointed rocks
She flails her limbs wildly
Her hair blows back from her face
And her heart begins a fevered race
As the rocks grow ever closer
A scream slips from her lips
Just as her eyes slip close
And the rocks collide
With her fragile, shimmering skin
Her heart stops its hurried thumping
Blood stains the granite a crimson color
Chattering, blue lips let out a strangled cry
And she whimpers one last time
As the angel of death takes her soul
He holds on
As the ship begins to tilt
Though his hands are red and raw
His lips turning a brilliant blue
While his teeth chatter from the bitter chill
His only hope is to stay aboard
So he might return home
In the distance shines a light
With a girl standing in its shadow
He imagines her sweet smile
And sugary laugh
He sees her bright, silver rimmed gaze
Roaming in his mind's eyes
Just barely he can see
Her luscious long hair
Whirling in the stormy wind
And her name forms on his lips
He lifts his hand to wave
Letting his lips tug up into a smile
But he loses his grip
And slips from the deck
Icy cold water hits his face
It attacks his skin
And floods through his mouth
Closing off his air way
He flounders under the water
Fighting to find the surface
A rope wraps around his foot
Just as his fingers break the waves
Air hits his lungs
But only for a second
Before he is tugged back under
Into a dark, icy grave
He claws at water desperately
As he begins to sink down deep
Into the depths of the ocean blue
Where his throat starts to burn
His lips open just a crack
And water floods in
Lightning fast
He lets out a watery cry for her
As the angel of death claims his soul
Now he floats down deep
Somewhere under the sea
Now the waves come up
And take her out to sea
We hope against all odds
That these two
Love struck sailors
Find each other again one day
Somewhere under the sea
